Something about summer made Audra feel... alive. The warmth of the sun on her fur, the salty breeze pressing against her face, the call of sea birds floating along the air above her. Everything felt so peaceful. In place. Perfect. As if everything in the past could be washed away and forgiven. Forgotten. That is what she liked to believe as she approached the sandy tide pools. Water glimmered under the afternoon sun as she carefully picked her way out to the farther point. Following the small pathway, she smiled to herself as her toes dug into the sand. The wind ruffled her fur hard enough that she had to brace herself. Being petite often had some downsides. Whenever she would glance down at the water, a small school of fish would be swimming by. Their scales sparkled beneath the surface. Audra wondered what it would be like to be a fish. Fish lives seemed so uncomplicated. So easy. So full of "swim, live, die" and repeat. Admiring the scenery around her, Audra came to a stop at the farther edge of the sandy ring. Standing out there, alone, made her feel alive. As if she could accomplish anything.

The albino yearling had taken to exploring in his free time. His mother was a wild card all memories behind his birth fuzzy. Ruby had taken care of him as far as he was concerned. Yet alas she was sneaking around and it left him to learn some vital skills all his own. Daytime was not ideal, but he’d be able to get a better lay of the land this way. The paths seemed easy to follow. His quiet thoughts guiding footsteps in one direction to the next. Okay maybe he needed some help. Lifting his head Req took in a scent. He stiffened slightly knowing what pack scent it was. What did it matter?

Req made his way through the terrain. However embarrassingly his foot got tangled in a root. Making it so he tumbled. Landing ungraciously in front of Audra he scrambled onto his paws. White fur covered in dirt as he sneezed. Not entirely the sneakiest approach. He stared at the other silently. Shaking the dirt from his fur. Where was a good spot to overlook these lands damnit.

Audra heard the gentle and nearly silent approach of the boy. One ear turned in his direction as she stayed still. If he wanted to cause harm, there would be a price to pay. Instead of reacting at first, she continues to watch the water as it laps against the shore nearby. The water is beautiful, bright, and sparkling. Fascinated by the scuttling crabs and jumping fish, she is quickly startled when the boy trips on a root and tumbles to her paws. Finally turning her one good eye to look at him, she watches him get to his paws, shake off, and stare at her. No words, just staring. Feeling a tad awkward, Audra tilts her head at him. "Do yo-you ss-speak?" She asks gently ash er ears flick backward for a moment. It was not typical for someone to approach and not even say a greeting... Should be worried? Perhaps, but she knew Tojo-kai was not far off. Surely one of their wolves would come to her rescue if she let out an alarm call.
