Shinrei was more than willing to spar with his siblings. After all, how would he protect his pack someday if he did not practice? How would he make his father proud if he didn't persevere? Through loss or win, it didn't matter what the outcome was; if he was stronger for having fought, and learned a few more skills and tricks of the trade, it made all the difference. Today he called on his eldest sister, Hanaryo - surely like the rest of his littermates, Ryo wouldn't turn down a good offer for a fight to hone their skills.

Approaching a clearing, one of many used for spar training in the maze, Shinrei tilted back his head and called for the girl, waiting patiently for her arrival.

Sharpen her skills, hone them like a blade. Like a knife. Practice the things father taught during lessons. Follow the rules. Walk the line. They're all things that Ryō can do, and they're all things she will. For now, the obedience comes without question, without second thought. It's second nature to the little girl.

Heeding her brother's call without second thought, she arrives to stand opposite him within the maze. Tail wagging expectantly, offering a little bow before taking her spot opposite him in the space. Respectful but determined, the girl sets her feet carefully in place. Weight distributed evenly. Knees just a little bent-- everything else was practice, right? Looking up and giving a little nod to Shinrei, giving him the first move this time. Ryō was ready.

Shinrei liked Ryo, liked the way she was quiet and didn't seem obnoxious or overbearing like some of his siblings. Though none of them were intolerable, he definitely had preferences on whom he'd prefer to hang out with. Or in this case, spar with. He wanted to hone his skills, polish his combat finesse; if not for himself, then to make his father proud. Because that's all he wanted to accomplish, and that was all he ever asked for.

The small girl got herself ready for his offensive, and shinrei took note of her size versus his own; she was already the tiniest of the bunch as far as he knew, and he wanted to make sure she had as much opportunity to fight back as he did. Not just tackle her and that was that, no. Shinrei took note of her stance, her distance, and aimed to rush over and close the distance between them with each powerful stride, suddenly tucking his head down so as to bowl her over with a gentle but firm headbutt. With the addition of his nubby horns, it would at least fumble her if she wasn't careful.

Little, but dangerously quick. Ryō is learning how to use that to her advantage, learning how to hold her own when it came to her siblings. It didn't matter if they were bigger or stronger-- this is just as good. Already beginning to move as her brother closes the gap, a moving target is harder to hit. She'd move and keep moving, nimble on her feet.

As Shinrei lowers his head to knock into her, Ryō braces herself for the impact. Taking it to the upper portion of her shoulder with a little oof, feeling the blunt impact of his budding horns. Her strike is quick, rearing back over her hind legs and making to bite at her brother. Right, sibling things and all.

Shinrei isn't surprised as his horns make an impact on his sister. In the same length, he isn't surprised that her little teeth have sunk into the exposed part of his chest fur, a prickling sensation overcoming the spot where she had gained purchase. The dire boy knew he had the size advantage, but it was clear who won out in terms of agility and speed; Ryo herself. She was a moving target, a bandit, light on her paws and just as deadly.

It was obvious that the only thing his inexperience could tell him to do; shake her off. The boy planted his paws firmly on the earth, aiming to ruffle himself with a few firm and strong shakes -- if successful, Ryo would likely be forced to let go because of the constant rocking movement. After all, even the strongest of pups got motion-sick after a while.
