Bancha was really trying to be brave lately. Exploring more, venturing a bit farther every day. From the edge of Valta lands, he could see the dying pink blossoms of the Redbud Nook. While he hadn't seen them in full bloom, their interesting color still caught his attention. Why were those trees pink and the ones where he lived weren't? Curiosity propelled him forward, keeping to the shadows and the brush, making sure no one would notice him.

Careful not to disturb any critter burrows as he moved from tree to tree, pressing against the bark, his attention is suddenly turned to a bright red and white spotted mushroom. The biggest one in the cluster was as big as his head! Hopping over some roots and rocks to get to the cluster that clung close to a tree and some muddy dirty, Bancha sits in front of it. His head tilts to the side, aqua eyes blinking slowly as he looks at it, unsure if he can touch it or not.

Tsuki probably shouldn't be following her siblings around but the young girl admittedly kinda didn't really know what to do when left to her own devices. That said she wasn't exactly being stealthy about it, nor was she trying to. She had picked up Bancha's scent and was meandering her way over, not even really thinking much of the scents of the pack being left behind. Unlike her sibling though she had little reservation about wandering right on up to the cluster of mushrooms. It was really only Bancha himself that stopped her from immediately touching the whole thing. Dad's lessons on being careful around fungi in particular really had gone in one ear and out the other. "Think it's edible?" She asked instead of any greeting. Tsuki, despite the common misconceptions of a wolf her size, was not thinking with her stomach. She was more thinking about the possibility it was something their dad could use. Maybe if they brought it home for him he'd like that! "Speech"

Bancha was so engrossed by examining the fungi that he didn't hear his sister walk right up beside him. Startling with a quiet yelp, he takes a step back and catches his breath. "Tsuki," the pup says breathlessly, his face turning from fear to happiness at the sight of her, lips pulling up into a smile and his curled tail wagging behind him. Once he's recovered, he turns back to the mushroom he'd been inspecting and that Tuski had inquired about.

"Well, from what papa mentioned about fungi, I think he said if it's a weird color that we probably shouldn't touch it," his face scrunches up as he looks from the mushroom to their surroundings. He notices the blossoming pink flowers, the wildflowers spread around the trunks of blues and purples, even his sister with her splotches of red. What was considered unusual? It seemed here, where they stood, unusual colors were... normal so was the mushroom safe?
