Deluge found herself seated at the top of the falls, eyes turned skyward to take in the display of dancing lights. It was strange, to see them extending this far south, and the warm spring breeze was a pleasant surprise after the hint of chill that was carried on the northern continent. She could have sworn there had been a pack here? That was why they had come, after all. Her mother had been tipped off to a pack that would make an easy raid target and while the signs of habitation remained, sheets still warm for want of a better description, they had seemingly cleared out in a hurry. Curious.
It wasn't where they had planned to meet up, but the drag of her flanks against the coarse cedar trunks would lead Dread to her, and the way her fur glowed had her standing out like a beacon under the cover of the dense canopy, the only visible sky through the break in the trees where they water ran.
"speech"Not where they'd agreed to meet, but not far, either. Dread picks up the trail among the cedars, gaze quick and nose keen. Above him, the lights that... should have stayed in the north. It doesn't sit right with him, and it hasn't. Not as he moves south, and not as he finally manages to track her down. Shining against it-- "Fuck, if you aren't a sight." Words breathed against the darkness, rakish grin playing over his face.

Deluge kept her chin tipped towards the sky, sparing a side long glance for her companion, a smirk settling on her lips before her head turned to rest her gaze on his dark silhouette more fully. "Yer sound surprised?" She teased, stepping down from her perch to embrace Dread. It hadn't been that long, but it was long enough to leave his scent faint on her pelt, and she preferred for it to be more obvious, if only for shit stirring purposes.
She dragged her flank alongside his, pausing to groom the fur over his hip, feline claws flexing in the earth as she gave the woods another look over. "Reckon's pretty safe ter say there's not much worth raidin' 'ere wouldn' yer say?" Where could they have possibly gone, and what could have driven them away so suddenly? Regardless, there was no mischief to be made here. It was probably worth heading further south, before they turned north again.
"speech"Moving long against his side, the man's focus drifts. Keen gaze sliding across the landscape-- she's not wrong. It's strange, like they'd narrowly missed something. Someone. Dread wouldn't let his anxieties get the best of him, relying on logic and reason as best he can in its place. Deluge isn't wrong, and he gives a little nod. Nothing worth taking, no one to fight them, but... why? "It's weird, like they picked up and moved." Speculating out loud, as he peers down over them.
"Pretty place to spend the night and plan our next move though." They could take their time, right? Being out from under Modesty's thumb would be good for Deluge. No ulterior motives whatsoever, right?

To the south, the streams that split from the falls ran in two directions, one headed to the west, to the woods where she had found herself lost with her mother, Sakana and Rheum, the other ran south, she assumed towards the canyon. She'd never been there herself, only seen it from a distance. Another option was to head east, to a small sheltered cove or even out to the island where she ran into that blue and red winged guy again.
The sky peeking through the canopy overhead, well she wasn't sure if it would look more special by the coast or not. She was drawn from her pondering by Dread's suggestion though, he'd get no arguments from her. The longer they stayed gone, the better for her. She playfully nipped at his rump before stepping away, nose to the ground. The barest hints of well-worn trails remained. "At least there's dens if it starts pissin' down, but with'th sky puttin on a show it seems a shame ter tuck away an' waste it." She certainly didn't care if someone saw them...

Teeth at his flank and then stepping away, but Dread is quick to dance after her. A low chuckle in his throat, reaching to tug at her tail. She went low, he went high, checking the heights of the trees. Looking for any markings, any signs, any... anything. Someone had lived here, but... not anymore.
"We can stay up, watch the stars, and sleep in tomorrow?" Stretching and grinning, Dread moved to rummage in his makeshift pack. "Our work is better done in the dark, anyway." Or in his mind it was. The implication hangs clear in his tone, drawing back to Deluge's side. Close. Always close.
