Krakarak

It was like a beacon for his arrival. The glowing stones of this foreign land called to him, telling him to come and rest. His wings sorely needed it as he alighted on a high, gleaming gold stone. He tucked his wings to his side and seemed to just... slump. Wilting in on himself as he sighed and closed his eyes. Hungry. Thirsty. He knew nothing about this place. Nothing at all. He'd had to leave his old home in a rush.

Damn them all.

All the ravens of his birth home. War. Conflict. He didn't mind either... except when he was on the losing side. So, he'd fled while the getting was good. He was no warrior. No fighter. Valor. Honor. Feh! Who cared? He liked all of his feathers in tact, thank you. Because of his quick wits, he'd managed to escape while being no worse for wear.

Except he was alone now.

The wind echoed around him in the fading sunlight. He knew nothing. Could hear nothing. He opened his beady, purple eyes. Staring about him. The fuck was he supposed to do now?

"Kaw!"

For a beast like Taiga, the chill of the north was no issue. It was the summer heat of the south that got to the big cat. Her thick, obsidian and snow pelt wasn't made for the tropics and so, she tended to stick to the northern territories of the continent. There was nothing tying her down to any particular place, so why not?

This day, the cave lioness had brought down a rather husky caribou while the light of day cast heavy shadows against the towering stones of the wash. Shadows that she clung to, using them as camouflage for her giant frame. Hunting was easy. It always had been. And soon lunch lay dead beside her. Rather than eat immediately, the hulking feline opted for a nap first, rolling onto her back and tucking giant, snowshoe paws to her chest like some tiny kitten without a care in the world. Nothing would dare bother something as large as she was. Most of the time, at least.

After her well deserved nap, the lioness woke, rolling back to her belly to stretch and release a lowing yawn. Raspberry eyes shifted to the chilled caribou and she moved towards it, ripping the haunch open with ease to feast. The smell of blood hung rich in the air, the gentle breeze taking the scent down the length of the wash as the cat enjoyed her meal.

"Taiga"
Taiga is a Panthera Spelaea- a Cave Lion.

She stands 63" at the shoulder and weighs a whopping 700 lbs.

Oh? Oh, what was that delectable smell he smelled? Blood? FOOD! He was absolutely starving! Ravenous! If he was bigger he might have pounced on the first creature he saw but as it was, he was a tiny dot of a raven. He couldn't just attack someone. No. He had to be smart. Crafty. Finesse it a bit.

He absolutely had to investigate first, though. So, after gathering himself, he took to the air once again. Ignoring his aching muscles and soared to the promised land. Which happened to just be just a hop and skip southward of his location. There, he saw a felled elk and the creature who had done it. A large feline. Normally he was wary of cats.

Really, they just always loved to hop and pounce and bat at an unfortunate bird's tail feathers!

But today, he did not let that get in his way as he alighted near the feline and her catch. He hoped that she was in a good mood since she'd felled something and had no need to bat at his tail feathers.

He made a great show of looking quite pitiful, wings sagging, head low as he peered at her with a sad expression. "Krakarak can have some? Krak Krak?" Finesse. He felt so very, very smart for trying to play on the cat's sense of humanity.
