Korona crept quietly into the den, her paws making barely a sound on the cool, packed earth. Her eyes quickly adjusted to the dim light, searching for the tiny shape of her younger sister, Lyra. She found her nestled in a corner, barely more than a fluffy ball of fur, her small body rising and falling with each soft snore.

A mischievous grin spread across Korona’s face as she padded closer, her larger frame casting a shadow over Lyra. “Oi, Lyra,” She whispered, her voice an insistent nudge to wakefulness. Perhaps even a touch of too much strength put into her paws as they batted her earthy toned sister. “Time ta wake up, lil’ one!” With a careful poke of her nose, she tried to rouse Lyra, her eyes gleaming with a mix of haughtiness and challenge. “C’mon on, sleepyhead! Let's see if ya can handle a spar with me!” Korona's tone was playful, and so eager to see what her sister would do with her invitation. She could always just jump on her now, she supposed… A mischievous grin cracked her lips, shoulders doing a shimmy as she poised herself to strike.
THE KRAKEN

Talk about a rude awakening! Heavy paws, much larger than her own, would smack her awake. Korona would not get a better greeting than the growl Lyra gave. Her little heart was thumping. Kor was already in place before she could give a nip of correction.

Spar? The young girl was confused. She wasn't even fully awake yet, her paw rubbing her eyes. If Lyra were older, she would've been expecting to fall victim to the other girl's impulsive behavior. However, she wasn't. She didn't know what to expect.

"What do you mean sissy?" she would softly ask. Her eyelids fighting to stay open.




"Speech!"

Korona laughed, a soft rumble that vibrated through her chest and out into the air. “Oh Ly!” She began, her tone teasing but affectionate. “We gotta make the most of the day!”

She watched her sister's sleepy confusion with a mix of amusement and excitement.

“Spar!” She said, her voice a soft bark. “Getcha teeth and claws out!”

Korona sat back on her haunches, giving Lyra some space. She was loud and riotous, but she was attentive to her siblings when she wasn’t covering them in bites. She tilted her head, waiting patiently for Lyra's response or action, her eyes sparkling with playful anticipation as she could barely hold still.

THE KRAKEN

Getcha teeth and claws out!

It had taken a couple of moments, but Lyra would shake off her drowsiness. Once she rubbed her eyes awake, she looked up at her sister. Her tail was wagging, and there was a mischievous twinkle in her steely eyes. Korona would give her little sister space, which Lyra would greatly appreciate. There was honor in her not taking advantage of the sleepy pup. The obvious care behind Kor's amber hues would make Lyra feel treasured.

The Raiders were quite a violent group. Even from puppyhood, Lyra noticed all her siblings constantly fighting, tussling, and rough-housing. No one ever went out of their way to include her. She also never went out of her way to be involved. The girl just assumed no one wanted an easy target. What type of fun would it be? However, Korona gave her the opportunity today, and Lyra could hardly contain her excitement. Once she realized what Kor was saying, her tail began to swing rapidly.

"Hehe! Okay!", she would giggle as she shook her paws and body awake. Mimicking what she had seen others do numerous times. She would brace herself, leaving the space between her and her sister open and inviting the girl to make the first move.

Korona's thrilled excitement at seeing Lyra so eager was a visible, palpable thing. Her small sister wasn’t much for roughhousing like Korona and the other more boisterous pups were, so giving Lyra this chance here made the cosmic coated girl feel absolutely filled to the brim with satisfaction and pride. “That’s the spirit, Ly!” She barked, her voice filled with chipper enthusiasm. Without further hesitation, Korona crouched low, muscles tensing in anticipation. Lyra looked like she wanted her to make the first move, so here she goes! She then lunged forward, aiming a playful swipe at Lyra's front legs, testing her sister's reflexes with a gleeful sparkle in her eyes.

That's the spirit Ly!

Lyra, a small girl with a tail that would pound the air even harder when she giggled, was filled with warmth as the praise filled her chest. Her rump swung back and forth with the vigor of her tail. She giggled, her heart set on making her big sister proud. The intense focus would glaze over her steely eyes when her sister got low.

Lyra would crouch down herself, building tension in her legs, ready to spring in any direction needed. Korona would come towards her, taking a jab at the girl's legs. In response, Ly would jump back, dodging the swipe just in time to feel the momentum of the paw pushing her fur. Once on all fours she would return to the crouched position. Korona was not as heavy as some of the other dire-sized pups; Lyra took note of this.

She stood a better chance in grappling with Kor than most others. Plus, she couldn't resist the urge. Using her low stance to her advantage, Ly would spring up. Angling herself to aim for the girls chest and throat with her paws, hoping to push Korona over or at least knock her off balance with the momentum of her pounce.

She couldn't help but grin at her sister's enthusiasm. Once Lyra crouched down, Korona could see the intense focus in her ocean and steel eyes. Perfect. Korona felt a surge of pride as Lyra dodged her swipe with agility, jumping back just in time.

As Lyra sprang up, aiming for her chest and throat, Korona braced herself. The impact hit, but she managed to stay on her feet, though her balance wavered more than she thought it would!

With a playful growl, Korona steadied herself and attempted to push back, just enough to give Lyra a challenge but not enough to overpower her or her confidence. “Nice, sis!” She praised, her eyes sparkling with pride as she kept her shoulders evenly spread.
