She found herself back at the ocean's edge, the sun was sinking below the horizon and this spot she knew well. Her forepaws were coated up to her ankles in the surf while she watched the brilliant colors of the sunset. It was breathtaking as always and she didn't want to miss a minute of it. Then, once the sun had finished its brilliant display, she shifted her gaze downwards. Down to the water around her paws. Carefully she lifted one paw to stir the waves below her causing it to illuminate at the disturbances. This. She loved this. Water and a beautiful light show.

She used her paw to create patterns in the water, watching the brilliant blues as the sky became became darker and darker. Of course, she never allowed herself to become too consumed. She was listening and smelling around her, making sure that no one could catch her off guard.

Hala was in a mood, that's for sure. She was dangerous the way she stalked Blackfoot, although she would not hurt her only friend. Although neither spoke much, they seen eye to eye in ways. Blackfoot seemed to kind of accept Hala in ways others would cast her away. The only thing that would really give her away is those deep rose orangish pools she has for eyes. Her normally dark mocha coat appearing almost a obsidian hue. Waves kissed her pillars as she witnessed the way the water lit up and display it's glittering blues. Becoming confused she tilted her skull to the left slightly.

Wondering as to what the hell was going on. Her eyes once more trained on Blackfoot. She had become someone that Hala could be around without saying a word at all. Although Hala had realized she would not be able to sneak up on her, but possibly tackle her? The water lit up as Hala ran threw it, coming short as splashing Blackfoot with some of the water. Mocking growls released. Her tail up in dominance.

Hala wanted a spar, something that would bring them better skills, and understanding. To be able to see mistakes and be allowed to fix them.

She heard her before she scented her. The sound of sloshing water was audible even over the lapping of the waves against the shoreline. Of course, the scent that kissed her nostrils allowed her to distinguish that it was her companion and not another wolf that was tailing her. That information led her to keep her attention mostly on the water rather than looking up. As a steadfast friend ally, she was afforded the trust to not have Blackfoot immediately turn to look at her. It was a hard won thing and not given freely but as far as Blackfoot was concerned, Hala had earned it, for now.

What she didn't expect was the sloshing to pick up, the sound of running. This caught her attention as her hackles raised, gaze slipping past Hala to see if anything was approaching that would have worried the dark she-wolf. But... no. There was nothing. Nothing from that direction or on Blackfoot's other side. So why run?

Her question was answered when Hala pulled and and threw a wave of water over her. Splashing her, causing her to blink in disbelief. Why had she--? Something as simple as "fun" was not a thing that the blue wolf ever thought of. She'd never had anyone try to splash her, or give her playful growls before. Her head tilted to the right, her tail gave two confused wags before it dawned on her what Hala wanted. A spar. To test skills. Ah, that, she understood. Although, she'd never had someone initiate in such a playful manner before.

It was... nice.

Though, she did not smile, she did snort in that lightly amused manner she would infrequently do. Then, she tucked her ears against her head, raised her own tail, and ran towards the other wolf. Her attempt was to charge head-on at Hala and ram the left side of her chest against her since she had a slightly heavier build. Perhaps she could make the other woman stumble or fall into the water, payback for the splashing she received. It also doubled to let her test the other woman's strength, to see her limitations and what she was made of. Important for someone she was traveling with, no?

Hala watched that of the dark blue female, watching the others movements carefully even the way she moved upon her paws. The female then charged not in a manner to harm, but to learn from one another. It wasn't a bad thing at all in all honesty.

Ears perked forwards and soon feeling the other's skull ram into her left side of her chest. She had tried to dodge the move but was a little to slow. It didn't work, water came up around her legs. Quickly regaining balance. The slender one danced her eyes never leaving that of Blackfoot.

Ears perked up, taking quick notice to the womans own stance, with a quick movement Hala would swipe her paw out near Blackfoots back paws, to kind of trip her in a manner. Examing and watching, she gave a slow teasing growl.

They connected, Blackfoot's form into her own. Jousting. Fun. Because this was not a matter of life or death, this was simply two wolves testing each other. How strange to have this sort of romping without fear of losing body parts, as it had always been with her mother. How times changed.

The black wolf stumbled but didn't fall to the ground, instead correcting herself and rather than make a move immediately, Blackfoot gave time to see what she would do. Although, she kept her stance readied, balanced on four paws with her ears pinned to keep them from being grabbed. Tail flagging for balance. Her own seafoam eyes met that of burning fire. Show me what you've got. Her own gaze teased back.

Hala moved quickly, with eyes meeting each other's she didn't know immediately what she would go for. So, the swipe at her rear paws caught her off-guard but with her prior stance and four legs, it didn't cause her to fall. Instead, her rear paws flashed out and up with the motion, forcing her to put more weight on her front paws. The motion made her stumble a bit, but she corrected herself with a loud splash as her rear paws landed back on the ground. No sooner from that did she turn, aiming to shove her left shoulder into Hala's side while trying to grab the skin of her back with her maw. Her whole goal to shove and push her again into the water with the hopefully added leverage.

The dark chocolate woman watched as her own eyes noticed the teasing of the other womans. Watching as water splashed from the slate denims womans hind legs land back down into the waters, Hala was too slow feeling the teeth sink into her hind quarters. Hala allowed a surprised yelp out, which in turn caused to her loose her footing from the swift and agile movement from Blackfoot.

However she was happy that it was a game for now. A friendly spar, because she also wasn't blind knowing that others would maim or even kill another even in a spar. She seen weirder shit happen.

She'd rise up, shaking the water that clung to her free. As moving towards Blackfoot and rising up to give the other woman a shove into the water or if it failed at least she'd land upon Blackfoots back and be able to lounge for even a few moment. Her maw pushing against the other woman as she stood there.

Success! She noticed with amusement as her companion was dropped into the water, causing an illumination around her. It caught her off guard. The feeling that came with it of extreme contentment. Or was it joy? She didn't know, such things were not emotions that she frequently had. Either way, she snorted, the sound showing her amusement.

It was short-lived as the other woman rose to retaliate. Lifting onto her hind paws to which Blackfoot attempted to respond in kind but was not quite fast enough. Instead, as she lifted up, Hala was coming down and, in that action, she managed to get flattened on her back in the shallows. Glowing water was all around them as they stirred it with their movements.

Perhaps if this had been with her mother or any other stranger, she would have felt fury... but with Hala it was all in good fun. So, she found herself letting loose a playful growl as she tried to wrap her forelimbs around Hala's shoulders while attempting to get her mouth around Hala's muzzle so she could grab and hold it, a counter of sorts as Hala pushed her own muzzle into her fur.

It was all a learning expericance, a honing of skills for them both. And with that the woman did not mind at all. They both had many strenghts something Hala honored. As ears swivel listening to the growl released from Blackfoot, as the womans legs wrapped around her shoulders. Hala felt that of Blackfoot grab onto her own muzzle.

Eyes widening in surprise as the waters glittered and glistened around their little friendly spar. Taken by surprise by it, for never really ever witnessing such an event. Pulling away as turning to Blackfoot then the ocean. Wondering what laid beyond it all.

What the future held in store for herself and her friend. Her tail coming to wrap around her back legs as she sat down into the waters. Turning towards Blackfoot. Panting from their friendly spar.

She landed her own mouth around the other's muzzle, surprising herself with the feeling of enjoyment that it caused her. However, it was short-lived as she felt Hala pulling away. She didn't hinder the woman and let go, allowing the other to pull back and sit down in the water.

Blackfoot blinked at her, wondering briefly if she'd hurt her. There were no marks there but maybe the particulars of Hala's current condition were not outward. The woman did seem to have several other wolves living within her mind, maybe at this point another had taken over in response to the blue woman's choice in play.

The black-footed woman rose to her paws and moved to sit beside Hala, seafoam gaze searching the other's face. "Did I hurt you?" Because she didn't know that the other's pulling away had been due to anything other than her own actions.

It surprised her how much she actually cared if she'd physically or mentally hurt the other.

Oh no, Blackfoot did not harm the other woman, but her attention was drawn out over the ocean, being pulled back to the woman. "No, not at all. Just wondering what lays beyond this ocean that surrounds us here in Auster and Boreas. If there's others like us that wander different lands." Hala glancing once more to Blackfoot and lifted a paw to nudge the woman in a friendly manner. Were they friends? Hala hoped so honestly, for she needed a friend or two.

Although she had her family they were all quiet and kept to themselves. Hoping that she didn't make Blackfoot worry about herself, it was all new to Hala, something that she was learning as she was going, ears swivel upon her skull as the waters kiss her paws. She was lost within thought as gazing out over the ocean and it's waves. Glittering under the light. Then turning back to the woman.

She was pleased that the other woman was unharmed and gave a soft nod. Gaze turning from her to the sea. She could see birds in the distance as they let out their calls in the darkening night.

Blackfoot had never much wondered about others like them, of wolves that lived in different places. Her head tilted gently to the side as she now considered this. Allowing her mind to be entertained by such thoughts. She didn't say anything at first, simply thinking about it. Truly allowing herself to mull it over as Hala had presented it to her.

She was brought to the present when Hala nudged her. The action causing her to briefly tense but then she made herself relax. No harm would come to her, they had just been play-fighting after all. They'd been traveling together... she was safe. Or seemed to be. "Has to be." It made sense to her and she decided to expound on what she said. "Ocean stretches beyond the eye. Has to be hiding more land. If there's more land. There's more wolves." They were a hardy, smart species and she figured if they were here, they were everywhere, no?
