Onyx had preferred the company of well... no one. She was never much the social type and that was easy to tell from her stand offish behavior and her... resting bitch face certainly. She never really looked welcoming and in this case, the book was just like the cover. There wasn't much she felt like she could open up about herself, just the couple ridiculous emotions she had buried down over the years. She hoped she'd never have to open up and they'd just go away. Because carrying them was a burden as much as she seemed to be getting along just fine. Fine enough as a loner for all these years at least.

She had made her way outside of Hemlock and in the lands closely surrounding them. She wasn't really out here for any particular reason, but she had figured if she came across something worthy of her time she would do it. Catching prey, or finding something odd to take back to the pack stores. Easy enough. She knew she would have to pull her own weight and she wasn't a lazy piece of shit so that wasn't too hard of an ask for her.

As she walked along the coming spring knolls, she saw a few of the bison that were out over the hills in the distance but she wasn't up and ready to chase them. Just out for the stroll really. It was as she was lost in her steps that she was suddenly being bounded into by some other creature, knocking her off her feet and causing her to tumble over. She rolled a couple times before getting on her stomach and pushing herself quickly up off the ground to see what kind of idiot was picking a fight in the middle of the plains. And she was sure as shit surprised when she looked up and it was a grown doe that had head butted her down. What the fuck? Onyx stared at it a moment as it wailed some quiet noises and reared up a bit at her. But she was giving it the moment to back down. It was easy to assume it's baby was somewhere nearby due to the spring and the way it was acting. She had never had a doe of all things butting heads with her. And she didn't want to be so quick to end it if it had young to take care of. She wasn't heartless.
