((Open to Elysium members but can't promise Des won't start biting if things get crowded))

According to others apparently it was possible for women to glow during pregnancy. Desponia did not! She'd swollen up quite a bit and it had only made her grumpy. More grumpy at least. The whole ordeal had been, as far as she was concerned, deeply unpleasant and not something she was eager to repeat. Of course the worst was still to come. But it was leaving her hanging.

Desponia had woken that morning to feel a new pressure on her abdomen, the little monsters had shifted. And then she'd spent all day feeling that new unpleasantness and still nothing. Not even getting up and walking around seemed to help convince the whelps to actually manifest. And it sucked. Her hips were aching and where she thought she'd gotten used to the extra weight on her spine this day had proven otherwise. Fed up Desponia had finally decided if nothing was going to get actually going she was going to try and sleep.

Easier said than done. She was uncomfortable even then, unable to find a position that seemed to give any relief. It was mostly pure exhaustion that seemed to finally drag her off to sleep. And she wasn't even granted that.

Maybe it was a light sleep or maybe she had yet to fall into deep slumber but either way it was hard to miss her water breaking. Just her luck. Desponia sighed and made herself rise to her paws again, trying to walk the little parasites into position. After a few paces she felt her whole body tense, her muscles screaming in pain. In that moment she felt fear, Desponia had planned to just weather out giving birth on her own, she preferred to keep to herself as much as possible normally. But the pain was something else and in a moment of weakness she let loose a panicked cry, a call for help, for someone who knew better than her how to handle this. And she paced, and she paced, and she gasped her way through another contraction. Would anyone bother to show up? It was the first time Desponia regretted making her den so secluded and hidden. This would be miserable for her right up til the bitter end huh?
