They were free from the den and that meant being able to finally make her way across that bridge! The bridge was terrifying at first. Magdalene wouldn't have ever said that aloud, but her paws had definitely slowed their roll as she trotted across it. But once she was on the other side, courage bloomed in her chest once more as she stuck it out out and brought her head up high.

Moving along at a high-stepping prance, Mags set out for somewhere that would include the most fun ever. There was a whole world to explore and she was intent on seeing it all! Taking herself east from the large stones that piled up around the entrance to the mainland, the pup was quickly drawn in by the dancing lights. Tilting her chin up as she pranced through the tall grass, she lets out a gasp of awe as she watches the fireflies begin to stir. Dusk had just started to set along the horizon, illuminating the bugs and soon the glassy surface of the lake laid out before her.

Reaching up to snap at the bugs, curious to know how they tasted, she's soon caught off guard when her paw splashes into the shallows of the lake. A yelp leaves her as she bounces backward. Shaking off her wet paw, Mags soon notices how some of the markings along her leg begins to glow softly. Her head cants, curious why such a thing was happening to her. Was she too like the bugs that danced in the sky? Only one way to find out!

Spreading her paws, lowering her body, and wiggling it about like a cat, Mags pounces forward into the water. Waves rush up around her as she envelops herself. Giggles light the air, disturbing nearby ducks and rodents. When she leaps back onto the dry shore, she looks back at herself with continued awe. Indeed, she was glowing just like the bugs! Her bright eyes turn up to the fireflies, a smile spreading across her muzzle.

Inferna had been nestled in a cozy nook by the lake, carefully feeding the tiny wolverine cub she had found. She kept it warm with her fluffy tail wrapped around it, her pink eyes glowing with a soft light in the dimming dusk. The fireflies were beginning their dance, casting little sparks of light all around them. Inferna loved this time of day; it made everything look magical.

She perked up when she heard a familiar yelp and then giggles. Her sister, Magdalene, had arrived! Inferna watched with wide eyes as Mags played in the water, splashing and laughing. Her sister’s glowing markings were fascinating to see, and Inferna couldn’t help but smile at her sister’s joy.

“Maggie!” Inferna called out, her voice high-pitched and excited. She bounded over on her little legs, careful not to jostle the cub too much. “Look, I found a baby wolverine!” She wiggled her tail, showing the tiny creature nestled in her fluffy fur. “Isn't he cute?”

She glanced at Magdalene’s glowing markings with awe, watching as the fireflies danced around her. “Wow, Mags! I think the star bugs like you?” She reached out a paw to gently poke her sister’s glowing fur, giggling. “You’re like magic!”

Inferna's ears flopped about as she moved, her curiosity and excitement making her bounce slightly on her paws. “Can we play together, Mags?" she said with a bit of a smirk, stomping her foot down and lolling her tongue out after a playful nip to the air.

Someone calling out her name causes her to spin, droplets of water quickly whisked away from her body as she looks to Inferna. A smile spreads out across her muzzle as her albino sister draws near, her own tail wagging furiously to match her sister's excitement. When her eyes land upon the wolverine, Mags let out a gasp, a note of surprise on her face.

"He. Is. Adorable!" She shrieks, her body bouncing up and down excitedly as she steps closer to investigate the small creature. "He's so cool, Fern. Ya think I'll have a cool pet one day?" Mags' tilts her head, curious, tempted to nudge and prod at the baby wolverine, but finds the restraint to hold back.

Quickly her attention is drawn back to Inferna and the strange happening of her markings along her body. Wiggling from snout to tail, one might think she would've run out of energy by now, but all she could feel was energy. Her own giggles light the air as she spins in a circle. "You think the star bugs did this? I love it! Watch this!" Mags' voice is shrill, but elated. Her paws dart her toward the water, splashing into the shallows to spray water back up onto her body. "Every time I get wet, I get brighter!" She shouts at her sister as she runs back over.

"Well yeah, duh, of course we can play!" Her brows draw together, a look of you don't gotta even ask on her face before it returns once more to the cheeky grin and bright crinkly eyes of puppy happiness. Glancing around quickly, she thinks about what they could play. "What if we play hide and seek?!" Mags offers, her gaze lingering on the tall reeds and cattails that line the lake. A perfect place to hide! Plus they could wander and explore some more too to see what else the lake had other than the star bugs that danced lazily around them.

Inferna's body wiggled furiously with her wagging tail when her sister started mirroring her excitement. "Yeah, he's so cute, right?" She grinned and crouched down to nuzzle the wolverine cub. "I bet you will have an awesome pet one day too, Maggie!"

She watched in awe as Mags started glowing, her markings brightening with every splash the water made. Inferna giggled, her pink eyes wide with wonder. "You look so cool, Maggie!" Her words were genuine, though there was just a slight hint of envy she held for her sister's magical coat. She forgot all that in an instant as soon as her sister agreed to play.

Inferna bounced on her paws, thrilled by the idea of playing hide and seek! "Yes, that sounds super fun! I'll try to find you!" She glanced around, taking one final look at all the places that Mags might choose to hide. She eyed the tall reeds and cat tails, as well as the few trees surrounding the lake.

With a giggle, she gave a playful nip to the air in Mags' direction. "Alright, go hide!" Her curled tail continued to wag as laid herself down on her belly and used her massive forepaws to cover her eyes, her head in the grass. "1... 2... 3..." What came after 3? "2.. Wait, no, that was before 3! She growled, "3.. 4.. 5..." What came after 5? Oh heck this. "Ready or not, here I come!!"

"Yay, okay!" Magdalene squeals happy, her paws tapping back and forth with excitement as her sister agrees to play the game with her. Sometimes it took effort to get her siblings to play high energy games with her. She never understood why they wanted to be so relaxed all the time!

When Inferna nips in her direction and directs her to go hide, Magdalene is quick to clack her teeth back playfully. "Okay, okay!" She chirps, swiveling on her heels and dashing off toward the shore of the lake. Darting through the reeds that were much taller than her currently, she weaves in between them in a chaotic nature. No rhyme or reason to which way she went as long as it was away from her sister.

Suddenly, a little opening in the reeds catches her attention. There she sees a den with a dark opening large enough for her body to fit. "Hope no one is in here!" She whispers loudly as she tucks herself inside, backing up so she is butt first. Peering out at the lake that is just viewable from her position, Mags has to place her paws over her mouth to muffle her giggles.

Her pink ears perked up as she heard Maggie's joyful squeal, and she couldn't help but giggle again. Her sister was always so full of energy, and it made Inferna's spirit lift as well. Even though sometimes she liked to be quiet and think, playing with Mags was always fun and she preferred that over solitude any day.

When she heard the clatter of teeth, Inferna peeked from under her big paws, catching just a glimpse of Mags darting into the reeds. She waited, counting again in her head to give Maggie just a little more time to get situated, "4... 5... 6?" - but gave up quickly. This counting stuff was hard!

With a final giggle, Inferna jumped up, her curled tail swishing behind her. "Okay, Maggie! I'm coming now! I'm gonna fiiiind you!" she called out, singsonging to her sister with a mix of excitement and competitiveness. She sniffed the air, her slender muzzle lifted as she tried to catch her sister's scent. She found it quite easily and trotted toward the lake's edge where the tall reeds grew thickest.

Inferna padded through the reeds, her nose stopping every now and then to take in the scent of her sister on a blade. Her pale fur brushed away the scent of her sister and left her own as she followed in Maggie's wake. She stopped, tilting her head when she heard something - a giggle? Her pink eyes sparkled with mischief as she carefully followed the sound with the quietest steps she could muster.

Suddenly, she spotted a small opening in the reeds, just big enough for a pup like Mags to hide in. Inferna grinned, her tail wagging furiously now as she crept closer. "Oh, I think I fooouunnd you!!" she called out, her voice teasing as she still singsonged.

With a playful pounce, Inferna poked her head into the little den, her nose nearly touching Mags' as she peered inside. "Gotcha!" she declared, her eyes gleaming with triumph and excitement. "That was such a good hiding spot, but I still found you!" She hopped back and forth, clearly very proud of herself.


"Inferna"

Magdalene wasn't exactly known for being... quiet. Perhaps it was why she was terrible at hunting and better at fighting. She didn't need to be quiet when she was ready to slay an opponent! Well, not slay because she was just a pup, but maybe one day! So as she hides in the little den, her paws pressed firmly over her lips to stifle her giggles, she tries to listen for her sister.

The singsong voice of Inferna calls out through the reeds. Grasses and reeds brush together and against her sister's pale fur. She could hear her getting closer and closer until... surprise! Suddenly Inferna was right in front of her, nose to nose, staring straight at her. A startled yelp leaves her as she bumps against Inferna's nose before a peel of giggles lights the air. Once Inferna has backed up and is hopping around, Magdalene scrambles out from the den, her own paws dancing back and forth.

"Oh, you're such a good finder!" Mags croons, her chin tilting upward to let out a little puppy-like howl. "Okay, okay, how about... we fight instead?" She lowers into a play bow, tail flagged and waving quickly over her hind end. "It's too easy for hide and seek here, but I bet I can knock you into the water!" Mags taunts Inferna, a playful grin on her lips.

"Magdalene"

The paler sister couldn't help but giggle along with Magdalene as her sister scrambled out of the den. The joy of finding her so quickly made her little chest puff up with pride. "I AM a good finder, aren't I?" she agreed with a grin, her tail wagging all too furiously behind her.

But when Mags suggested a fight instead, Inferna's eyes lit up with mischief. A playful smirk spread across her face, and she tilted her head, narrowing her pink eyes with a pseudo-serious expression. "You think you can knock me into the water, huh?" she teased, her voice full of her usual sass.

Without missing a beat, Inferna lowered herself into a defensive stance by instinct, mirroring Mags' play bow. "We'll see about that!" she taunted back, her curled tail twitching with excitement and dominance. Then, with a sudden burst of energy, she launched herself with arms spread and mouth open right at her sister, aiming to playfully tackle her and nudge her towards the water while her teeth sought to clamp down on one of her colorful cheeks. She growled, but then squealed in childish excitement and giggles as she made contact with her sister, her ears flopping as she moved.

"Inferna"

Magdalene continues to grin, her head nodding excitedly. "I am bigger than you," she croons though she doesn't understand that size wouldn't be everything she needed to win her fights. Still stretched out into her play bow, her butt wiggles back and forth in the air, driven by her happy tail that swings back and forth. Her eyes are alight with eagerness and love for her sister as she watches Fern match her defensive stance. It was on now!

Just as Fern leaps forward, so does Mags. Meeting her sister mid air with her puppy teeth snapping and chewing at her sister's scruff, she feels the slam of Fern's body against hers. It wouldn't take long for her paws to reach back to the ground, but unbalanced by the tackle. Stumbling to the side, closer to the water, Mags reaches out to try and get ahold of Fern to also try and stumble her sister into the shallows.

Inferna felt adrenaline soar through her as the playful battle started, colliding with Mags mid-air, her sister's teeth tugging at her scruff. She let out a delighted squeal, the excitement of their mock fight bubbling over. Even though Mags was a bit bigger, Inferna wasn't about to let that stop her.

As Mags stumbled from the tackle, Inferna could feel her sister trying to pull her along toward the water. But, Fern was quick on her paws, planting them firmly into the soft earth of the lake shore. "You're not going to get me that easy!" she giggled, twisting her body to break free of her sister's grip.

With a playful growl, she shoved back, using all her strength to try and push Mags further toward the water. Her coral eyes sparkled with her mischieviousness as she leaned into the playful struggle. "I hope you were wanting a bath!" she teased, determined to be the one to win this battle!
