She ventured out in search of adventure once again. She hadn't gone out much for a while since she had caught...well she wasn't sure. Some sort of sickness. Too severe for a cold, and yet not quite the flu. She had to wait it out and get aid from the healers, but finally she was all better and eager to get out and about. Her venture brought her to an underground cavern, her natural taste for curiosity leading her to follow the twisted vines and roots that reached into the depths. She was surprised to find an underground river, and she was careful to stay away from the edge to keep from getting swept up in it. The further she went, however, the river would break up into small pools and in some places was a softer trickle. Giggling, she bounded across some stepping stones as she was eager to check out what lied deeper within The Deluge.

As she went further in, she could feel the ground getting softer, not as hard baked as it was closer to the entrance. She could hear the scuttling of small animals, the scratching of rodents, the gentle trill of crickets. Her head was on a swivel, and she spotted a bird stomping away at the ground, pecking at the soft ground in search of food. She watched it for a moment, and just as she was turning away, she saw out of the corner of her eye that the bird had pulled up something glowing!?

The tiny girl did a doubletake, getting a glimpse of the bird slurping up a bright green glowing worm! What!? She watched with wide eyes as the bird continued its search for worms, gently tapping and pecking at the ground as more worms wiggled up to the surface. "Whoa! Cool!" She decided then, to sort of mimic what the bird did and she started gently tapping around on the ground in the hopes of them popping up.

Luckily, it didn't take very long for them to start poking out of the ground, and soon she was nearly surrounded by all sorts of colored glowing worms! Green, blue, purple, yellow, pink...all the colors that she had, they had! Her eyes lit up with awe and excitement as they wiggled around. She settled on her belly as she reached out to pluck one from the ground, looking at it wiggle around on her paw. She giggled as it wiggled around, its bright pink glow captivating. What made them glow like this though? Was it something they ate? Or were they naturally like that? She didn't see anything that made it obvious, so maybe it was the environment...or perhaps something underground? Whatever the case, it was fascinating nonetheless! Maybe there were magic mushrooms that grew deeper in the cave! That seemed like the most obvious answer!

Keen on investigating further, the girl plucked a few more different colored worms from the ground and decided to carry them along with her as she went further to try and find out! They felt funny in her paw, and she almost had half a mind to go back home and show them to Kenway to see if maybe he had an idea. He was smart, he'd know, wouldn't he!?

As she went deeper, it got a bit darker, and she could see what she thought was light at the end of the tunnel, but instead of sun, it was a dim green glow that steadily got brighter. "Moss?" Was that why the worms glowed? Did they eat the moss? Hmm...she kept going, noting that it was indeed getting brighter, and when she finally approached the moss and looked at it, she could see that it steadily pulsated, but only barely. It wasn't obvious at first, she had to really stare at it to notice it happening, but it certainly was happening! She poked at it with her paw, noting how springy and soft it was. A small bit broke off, and she quickly noticed that it was some pretty delicate moss!

Huh...if it was that soft and delicate, then maybe it was what the worms ate to glow like that! She didn't know what they could and couldn't eat, after all, other than organic matter. But this seemed like something they could eat. Curious, she carefully placed the worms onto the moss. Watched them wiggle around almost as if they were...happy? And before she knew it, they seemed to slip into the moss pretty quick and without a trace! Her eyes widened at how quickly they had practically absorbed into it! She didn't even know worms could move that fast! Then again, these ones glowed...so maybe they were special worms!

Excited, she carefully poked and prodded at the moss again, wondering if maybe the worms were just beneath the surface! But even as she peeled some of it away to reveal moist soil beneath, there was no trace of the worms! Weird...
