Vayne Morningstar

The male had no idea how he had got here. He wasn't tired that's for most definite. Ears flicked upon his skull as the humidity began to climb, he felt like he could crawl out from his skin. Confusion set it's claws deep within his mind. He was alone once more, around him the waves of the ocean kissed his stomach, a scratch in his throat causing him to cough. He was confused and now fucking lost. He couldn't win for shit.

His coat although sleek caused him too become to warm and too fast due to the darker pigments. His paws didn't know which way to go. Stuck. That was the easiest way to put it. He was stuck. Light and bright azure eyes that matched the water itself stung from the brightness of the day. A slow sigh escaped his black lips. He smelt of the ocean, and probably would for days or until he was able to bathe.

And the sand! That shit got everywhere but lucky enough for the male it was all about a quick shake, sand fell freely. His stomach lurched, he was hungry. As looking down he took notice to the area covered with crabs, and other sea life. Sure they were small, not much to fill him, but it would work. It'd have to work.

Hours passed, he needed shade. He needed to find out where he was. And first off he needed water. But also to find his siblings. Thankfully a few clouds rolled in front of the sun, blocking it out.

The silver wraith moved with a silent grace across the shimmering sands of The Bifrost, her ghostly pale blue eyes scanning the area with precision. The malabsorption had left her lean, but every step was elegant and deliberate, a show of her strength and resilience no matter the odds. The sun bore down, and though the heat did little to bother her gray and white striped coat, the hunger gnawing at her belly was a constant reminder of the need to find sustenance.

As she prowled closer to the edge of the land bridge, she spotted a figure. A wolf, sleek and dark-pigmented with.. spotting like her own kind? Interesting. The wolf was clearly disoriented and struggling against the elements, so Graive paused, her mind quickly assessing the situation. The wolf, with his eyes narrowed and stinging from the salt water and sun, presented an opportunity as she watched his visible struggle with a need for shade and water. He was clearly vulnerable; a potentially easy target. Her cold-hearted nature considered the options; did she take advantage of one easy meal (her predatory instincts almost salivating at the thought) or did she take the chance to possibly secure several easy meals?

Graive was often driven by a sense of order and balance. The wolf's plight stirred something pragmatic within her, taking down a single wolf might satiate her hunger temporarily, but it wouldn't solve her larger problem of needing consistent nourishment. This wolf might be more useful alive than dead. A second set of eyes and ears might increase her chances of success for herself.

Deciding, she continued approaching the wolf cautiously but without menace, her large frame casting a shadow over him even though she was still two feet away. "You look lost," she stated coolly, her voice devoid of emotion but carrying a hint of authority. "And I do not think you will survive out here alone and in your condition."

She looked down at the wolf, wondering if he would think her a predator.. if he was confused. Graive continued, "I need help hunting. I'll help you, then you can help me. It's simple. What do you say?" She watched him carefully, waiting for his response, already slightly regretting the alliance she was proposing.

Vayne Morningstar

Vayne wasn't blind when the scent of a feline tore his attention away. His tail gave a slight wave before falling behind his haunchs. Colored in silvers and whites the woman was, Vayne wasn't stupid although he was cautious. Ears turn to pick up her vocals that slipped out from her own maw. His eyes looking and watching her movements carefully and calculating. "Not lost, not all who wander are lost." His tone casual and cool, collected with intelligence that would last him a life time. But how dare she assume that he was. "Just too much sun and salt in the air." Which was not a lie he replied to the unknown woman. Not caring that she was a female but a feline, sure he didn't mind big cats but tended to keep his distance.

She proposed to him, that she'd help him if he would help her to hunt. The woman did appear to be sickly, too skinny in his liking. "You appear like you wouldn't last too long with your condition either." Vayne spoke, as shaking out his coat quickly, his eyes never leaving her. He'd known he would regret his next choice to help the big cat but stated out. "Sure, I'll help you with a hunt, if you show me off of this land. And only after we get out of this place."

Graive's ghostly pale blue eyes narrowed slightly at Vayne's response. His casual demeanor and sharp wit were unexpected, and she found herself mildly impressed, though she would never show it. The silver wraith tilted her head, considering his words. "Fair enough," she replied, her voice still cool, though with a touch of amusement. "You're right, I wouldn't last long without a decent meal. But with your help, that might change."

She glanced around, assessing the desolate landscape. "The sun and salt are unforgiving here," she admitted, her gaze returning to him. "We both need to get to water first and foremost. It is not close. We will have to pass through two territories to the north before we can reach it. It will not be easy getting through the fjord."

She glanced at Vayne, assessing his reaction to this new information. "But, the need for water is urgent and we won't make it without it. A hunt on the way could sustain us until then. Are you still willing to join me?"

Her large frame shifted slightly, as if preparing for the long journey ahead. The silver wraith knew the risks, but in her current state, the chance of survival increased with a partner, even one as unfamiliar as this wolf.

The male was quick with his thoughts and not ever waivering from speaking what was on his mind. It wasn't who he was, eyes never leaving the feline for more than a split second. Watching the tilt of her skull, ears twist forwards listening to her speak out. He did however agree with a nod of his head.

" Believe me, we both know you wouldn't. And one would be a fool to think the elements at play here are forgiving." He also hoped that she known he wouldn't deal with games from a feline. And if anything foolish was tried it'd be harmful to the both of them. "Well, then what the hell are we waiting for."

He was hungry but not as hungry as she seemed to be, rotating his paws and his attention. Then allowing each one to rest inside the sand. Vayne was not about to allow a feline to deter his choices though.

He had one task at hand, finding his damn family. "I will join you for now. After we hunt we will see were the fates lead us. If we part ways or you can't keep up that is on you. Not me." He was a bit harsh but he needed to be. He was brutally honest also, which for most was an acquired taste. Kept those that were up to no good away - just how he liked it.

Graive's expression remained neutral as Vayne spoke, his bluntness and honesty not lost on her. In fact, she found it refreshing - there was no pretense, no games. Just straightforward survival instincts, something she could respect with where she came from. The silver wraith inclined her head slightly, acknowledging his words.

"Very well," she replied, her tone as steady as ever. "I don't expect any favors, and I won't slow you down. We both know what is at stake."

Her gaze swept over the barren landscape, already calculating the best route to find prey while making their way north. "We'll start by heading up the cliffs of Faller's Fjord," she said, taking the lead with the graceful stride only a feline could accomplish. Her lean frame moved with a purposeful stride that belied her skinny state; a testament to the fact that she was used to her own body being this way.

As she moved, she kept one angled ear back toward Vayne, aware of his presence and the delicate balance of their temporary alliance. "Let's see where fate leads us, indeed," she murmured under her breath, more to herself than to him, as they set off on their journey.

Vayne Morningstar

Vayne watched the silvery woman with a weary eye, it was something he always had done since he was a pup. His tail gave a quick annoyed flick as would follow the woman listening to her speak as they traveled. His steps careful. He did not need to say a word, however just keep a ear out for anything that seemed or he deemed not right.

Maybe he was different, finding company with a large feline. He shook his head with a sharp snort. However the male was ready if need be for a fight, always alert was something that kept him intact. Vaynes journey to these new lands were by far not easy, but well worth it.

However he stayed silent until they got to their destination of sorts. Where ever the hell it was. The territories that they would travel would make Vayne stay continuesly alert also.
