Ellara Praetor

Enyo had sought out Redrum with an aura of command, her intentions masked only partially by her calculated words. She spoke with her usual blend of sharpness and allure, making it clear that she desired his company assistance. Though the invitation was phrased as if he had any real choice in the matter.

"Come with me," she had said, her eyes glinting with challenge. "There is something that requires both our strength. A new land has emerged. I would not allow such a discovery to be claimed without my name attached to it, and neither should you."

-----

As they approached the mysterious landscape, Enyo walked ahead with her head held high. Her presence authoritative and unyielding. The tall stone spikes loomed over them, eerily ancient, and yet undeniably foreign.

She cast an occasional glance at Redrum, evaluating his every movement, the way he held himself as they ventured into the unknown. Enyo's critical gaze was both testing and admiring, reflecting her conflicting emotions: a mixture of respect and resentment. His strength was a boon, but she couldn’t help but feel the bitter sting of jealousy at the thought of the greater reverence his birthright had afforded him.

The darkness began to settle in, far deeper than any typical night, and Enyo paused, her nose twitching slightly. No stars, no moon... just a void. "Something is wrong," she stated, her voice steady, but her eyes betraying a flicker of something else. An awareness of the unnatural. Foberos circled overhead, occasionally calling out in a shrill voice as if echoing the unease that filled the atmosphere.

As they continued, Enyo's senses heightened, her body on alert, but her demeanor remained that of calm authority. She would not show weakness. Not here, not before Redrum. This was her chance to prove, not just to the pack but to herself, that she could confront whatever challenge lay ahead without fear. She would not be overshadowed. Not tonight.

The sudden tremor beneath her feet made her pause, and her ears twitched, catching the vibrations as they traveled through the ground. "Stay sharp," she ordered, her tone cutting through the silence like a blade. The earth shook again, more violently this time, and Enyo’s muscles tensed, her sharp gaze fixed on the mysterious land before them.

In her mind, the danger was a challenge to be overcome, a test of her worth. She glanced back at Redrum, her eyes narrowing slightly. "If this place thinks it can intimidate us," she muttered under her breath, "it’s sorely mistaken." She was confident all on her own but with Red beside her, she knew that the two could handle nearly anything thrown their way. With that, she pressed on, her steps deliberate and defiant, her silhouette a striking figure against the backdrop of an unknown world that begged to be conquered.

Redrum’s golden eyes followed Enyo’s every movement, sharp and intense, his muscles coiling with restrained energy. Her approach had his throat burning, his hackles bristling pleasantly as he faced her, an oddly curious tilt to his crimson skull. She briefly wondered if she were back for a new clash, but alas that was not the case today.. Her words cut through the stillness of the night, drawing his usually split attention away from the shadows that clung to their surroundings. His ears focused on her, drowning out the sounds of fauna. His gaze roamed over her, lingering on the way her head lifted with that particular blend of arrogance and command. For a moment, his lips twitched into a faint, tooth-baring grin — amusement interlaced with something darker.

“Enyo–wants to borrow–Redrum’s strength.” His voice, broken by uneven pauses, carried a mocking lilt as he prowled closer, keeping a pace that always seemed half a step behind her yet never quite out of reach. You could say he was walking a tightrope, one false move from falling. “As–she wishes.” There was an edge to his tone, predatory, a challenge hidden beneath those halting syllables. He moved with feral grace, skull low between his shoulders as his muscles continued their twitching sporadically, dancing as though some unseen current of tension ran through him.

—--

But the sudden shift in the atmosphere once they crossed into the new land made him still. His ears flicked, trying to catch the faintest changes in the air. The void-like darkness ahead pressed against his senses, whispering of something unknown and unseen. The brute knew to trust his senses, whether they made sense or not. The massive stone pillars took up space, sure, but they were as lifeless as the area around them. They were all that was alive here, maybe.

“This place...” he murmured roughly, eyes narrowing as he swept his gaze over the desolate expanse. “Calling—doesn’t it—feel like that?” His voice rumbled, a lightness to his tone that was nearly ominous. Yet despite the unsettling atmosphere, he showed no sign of reluctance. If anything, the strange land seemed to draw him in like a moth to flame. He was quite happy to be there.

When the tremor shuddered through the ground beneath them, Redrum’s reaction was almost instantaneous. His frame tensed, claws flexing into the dirt, and his head whipped to the side as if searching for some unseen threat. “Interesting. he growled, ears flattening briefly before flicking forward once more. A shiver ran down his spine, and he bared his teeth, the sharp glint of fangs visible in the darkness.

Yet, even as the earth trembled again, more violently this time, a low, uneven chuckle bubbled up from his throat. “Ah… our challenge,” he murmured, almost to himself, eyes bright with anticipation. His gaze cut sideways to Enyo, watching her stance, her readiness. For all her self-assurance, he could sense the tension simmering beneath her controlled exterior. A small, savage smile pulled at his lips.

“Can’t afford—to be… be afraid—now, can we?” he rasped, voice low, conspiratorial. His posture shifted subtly, weight balanced, prepared to strike at a moment’s notice. Whatever lay hidden in this land, whatever dark force sought to unsettle them, he would meet it with tooth and claw.

As Enyo pressed onward, Redrum followed closely, a dark red shadow at her side, his movements liquid and soundless. He did not speak, but the intensity of his gaze never wavered. Each step brought them deeper into the unknown, and with every heartbeat, his excitement grew.

Ellara Praetor

As they ventured forth the darkness fell like a heavy shroud over them. One that felt different from any night Enyo had ever experienced. The absence of the moon and stars unsettled her. It was wrong, all her instincts screamed it was wrong. Enyo refused to let it show. She listened as Redrum muttered something about the place calling to them. It wasn't something she noticed but the more she contemplated the more she realized just how scarily accurate that statement was. She could hear the curiosity- was that excitement in his voice? Enyo realized though that this place was calling them.

Should they turn around? The call wasn't from a place of love. It seemed ominous... Predatory. She would rather explore and know than put any of her family at risk. Besides, Enyo believed she was the most able-bodied.

"Perhaps it does," she murmured back, her tone dismissive but her eyes betrayed an understanding. The land seemed ancient and powerful. The stone pillars, worn and towering, spoke of secrets untold. This was what she craved to discover, something she could conquer, a test of her strength and wits against the unknown. A new place to subdue to the will of the Dunamis.

When the tremor came, Enyo immediately stilled. Her ears flicked and her muscles tensed as she took in their surroundings. It was nothing like a fight. No clear opponent, no tangible threat. It was the world. Everywhere! Yet, it stirred something within her. The earth itself challenged them, and she could feel the weight of it pressing down as if daring them to continue.

"The tremors are getting more violent. Surely." She noted matter-of-factly.

Redrum's response didn't go unnoticed. She shot him a glance, catching the predatory glint in his eyes, the hint of excitement that seemed to mirror her own. She was calculated and vicious. He was dangerous and unpredictable. That edge thrilled her, even if she wouldn’t admit it. A wolf like Redrum was like her, a weapon.

His murmured words reached her ears, and Enyo let out a short, quiet laugh, her lips curling into a smirk. "Fear is not something we afford," she replied, her voice steady and commanding.

She turned her gaze forward, eyes sharp as they pierced the shadows ahead. Every movement, every sound was heightened by the suffocating darkness around them. Enyo’s heart was ignited with an anticipation that matched Redrum’s, the thrill of the unknown driving her forward. She was aware of him behind her, close enough to be a shadow, yet always half a step behind. It was the right place for him- supporting but never leading.

As the ground shuddered again, her stance shifted, muscles coiling, prepared for whatever came next. Redrum’s excitement was palpable, his presence like an electric current beside her. She found herself reveling in it, her eyes narrowing in determination as she pressed onward, her head held high.

“This land may seek to test us, but it will not see us falter," she said, her voice carrying over the darkness as they moved deeper into the unknown. There was a promise there, spoken aloud not just for Redrum to hear, but for herself.

And so they continued, her steps deliberate, her body poised for action. She would not be cowed, not by the dark, nor the earth beneath her, nor the power that seemed to pulse from the stone pillars around them.

"Stay close to me please Redrum."
