Time again brought Trixy to Boreas. Her goal was simple, find something to hunt and make use of, if not for just food. She'd left Frank to graze in the briar while she went to work. Her nose on the ground and eyes narrowed for tracks. She would have this tracked in no time. She had seen tracks leading down into the rocky area of the deluge and knew she would need help to corner and kill the sheep she was tracking, as well as to help her keep the sheep from doing extreme damage to her. So she tilted her head and called for anyone that might be close by to aid her in hunting the critter.

Her galaxy pelt wouldn't blend in but that wasn't the issue right now as she moved towards the river and more rocks. Its musky scent was heavy here and she figured it had to be hiding someplace nearby.

He stalked alongside the underground river that had retreated from the heat of summer. The usually peaty, green moss was thirsting for water and some of it had begun to die away. He wrinkled his nose at the sight of it. This summer was intense, and he despised it. He figured that finding relief in tunnels, caves, and underground places would bring relief, and while it did for a little while, it still presented challenges. The water level was low, but it wouldn't stop him from getting a drink from the shallow pools where he could reach.

Maw dripping with water, his eerie gaze turned upward in thought as he looked at the drying tendrils of vines that reached across the ceilings like dying, bony fingers.

He proceeded forward, kicking a rock into the water as it landed with a plunk. He giggled at the sound before continuing on his way. It was growing darker the further he went, but nothing he couldn't handle. Nothing that would make him afraid. The earthen smells here were far more to his taste than the smell of the summer sun outside. Stalking over toward a cluster of mushrooms, he reaches out to touch one...but then remembered Rue's warning about touching shit if he didn't know what it was. She was the mushroom expert after all, and despite his intrusive thoughts, he decided to heed her warning and withdrew his paw. Wouldn't be good if he touched something that could kill him, after all. Turning away, the shadow creature investigated further, gaze moving this way and that as he spotted other things of interest. Small animal bones on the ground. The sound of bats further in the cave. He could see bat shit running down the walls and staining the ground, too. Wonder if there's a use for that... Maybe Rue would know.

And then, a call. Unfamiliar to him of course, but someone else appeared to be down here. He crept his way toward the voice as her echoes died down. And he was pleasantly surprised to not only have found her scent, but the scent of a sheep as well. Grim found his target soon enough, both her perfume and the musk of the sheep intertwining within the confines of the caverns. "Grim found a two for one!" He purred with glee, head turning this way and that as he approached. "Is the little fairy looking for something?"

She continued to try to pick apart the scent of the sheep from the musk of the cavern. The dead and dying plants creating a strong odor that helped the sheep to mask itself from her. Not that that was about to stop or deter her from tracking it.

When the sound of another came up she gave a glance towards them before dropping her nose to the ground again. "One, I'm not a fairy. Two, yes theres a Dall Sheep somewhere around here... Wanna help me?" the term fairy felt derogatory of her size. She continued on hopefully she would get his help if not she could try to trap it and kill it herself. She pressed on, finally untangling the scents.

She padded forth, eyes and mind on the prize. Finally after what felt like forever tracking it she had found it. It appeared already sporting an injured leg. Might not be able to climb or leap far she supposed then. "There.... Looks like it's got an injured leg. Try to trap it against the cavern wall? We can tag team it from there." She looked towards the kid. He almost looked like he was smiling with a face marking like that.

He cackled his infamous cackle when she claimed she wasn't a fairy. But of course, he didn't believe it. She was tiny and colorful, she had to be a fairy! Just...one without wings, of course. Granted, he had some colorful members in his own family, but none so small. It only made sense that she was a fairy. "Whatever the little fairy says," He croaked as his face marking split with a toothy grin. He was more interested in the fact she was hunting something, and his unsettling gaze lit up with interest as he eagerly nodded and followed her further in.

The peaty moss underfoot was soft and spongy underfoot, the smell of the damp vegetation coupled with the dead and dried closer to the entrance mingled together. He wrinkled his nose a bit. He wasn't one for plants, but even he felt that carrion smelled better! But then again, that was just his preference. As the little girl led the way, he paused here and there to take a drink of water or to poke and prod at a random hole, gaze darting around the cavern as he inspected a thing or two here and a thing or two there. It was damp and musky in here! Especially with the scent of the sheep they were going after. Still, vines on the ceiling wound their way across, reaching deeper and deeper as if they had no end. Moss grew on the rocks. On the walls. Puddles were strewn about from leaks in the rock. Hmm...glancing back up at the vines that reached across the ceiling, he wondered if he could get something similar to grow across the ceiling in his room back at Whisperers Gorge. While he wasn't much for aesthetics, he liked the way the vines looked. Would help with hiding things he didn't want to be found...or hanging shit from them to add to the decor, no? Not only that, be he liked the way the green of the vines gave the room some color against the earthen backdrop. Yup. Maybe he'd find out if something like this could be done back home!

They went pretty deep into the cavern, the smell of the sheep strong in the air until they finally spotted it. Head tilted as the tiny girl spoke, grinning again as he nodded. "Grim is good at killing!" He exclaimed as he slunk forward, sticking to the shadows, his fur brushing the rocks he passed, pressing closer to the damp walls. It was quite easy for him to blend in with his obsidian coat. He licked his lips as he approached like a cat stalking its prey. The prey would not escape from him...there would be no way out if he could help it. His grin grew wider then, and when he felt he was close enough, he burst forward, barking and snarling echoing in the chamber as the sheep let out a bleat of surprise and terror as the shadow wolf closed in. Of course, he had managed to sneak close enough to grab the sheep in one go. Lanky body slamming into it and knocking it off his feet before he lunged, teeth closing around it's throat. If he was going to do most if not all of the dirty work, he was going to take the whole thing for himself and he'd fight the little runt for it if he had to. He was as selfish as they came, after all. She may have found it, but it was him that was going to take it.
