White sunset

The scent of a whitetail deer caught Flare’s attention as the day slowly sunk to evening. He had just been considering somewhere to set up for the night. A camp, something to eat, a warm fire. But the thrill of the hunt came before those pleasantries. They’d be waiting for him when he was done, regardless.

Putting the thought of a camp out of his mind for the moment, he set his mind to the scent, and started tracking. Letting it lead him across the grassy territory as he sought where the deer and its herd would be. The scent was fresh, so he knew they couldn’t be far.
