one of those melodramatic fools

Tomfoolery, ratfuckery, and whatever else they were getting into-- it's really par for the course. Davey dragging Tide out into the wild blue yonder to find something to get themselves into. Leading his brother right into danger is probably the most effective use of his time, he's pretty sure. How else are they going to know how to deal with danger, right?
"Don't be such a bitch," he shoots at the smaller boy, scowling and splashing in the shallow water. Sure, the weather had been weird, and it was probably making the predators act weird too. Finally losing his patience, Davey stomps back to the shore and gives his brother an almighty shove. "Sink or swim, baitboy."

He does not like water. Tide has had a few too many run ins with the sea, and those who live within it. The pup has developed a fear, and not just a fear but... yeah. More than that. Phobia was probably the wrong word but just... he doesn't like it okay.
With an unceremonious shove, Davey sends him splashing into the icy waters of the Fjord. "You're a real cunt for that," stumbling forward, stepping off a hidden ledge, and splash. As Tide paddles for his life, at least sort of floating, he catches sight of a fin and a pale belly. Eyes going wide, fighting to keep his head above water, the boy shrieks. "There's a fucking shark down there!" Fear in his wide eyes as the beast closes in, Tide is nowhere near quick enough to paddle to shore.
They're going to have to fight their way out of this one. Turning and snapping at the beast as he tries to return to where he can reach the rocky bottom of the Fjord's waters, Tide is already starting to panic.

The old Quill would have let the children below succumb to their fate. He would have walked away and just let the circling shark enjoy its meal without a second thought. Had Talyssa really softened him up that much? It soured the brutes mood a bit.
Quill had been resting upon a ledge overlooking the fjord when he noticed the pair of pups screwing around down below. Ears shifted, catching their words and a soft huff of amusement was released as the dominant of the pair took advantage of the weaker. That was, until he pushed the submissive pup into the water. Cold blooded. Old Quill would have been proud. New Quill sighed, pulled himself to his paws, and moved down the pine spattered mountainside.
The grey and white giant picked his way onto a ledge that stuck out over the water, checking in on the pair. He noted that the shark was coming in closer and huffed in annoyance. Planting his paws, Quill leaped off of the ledge and plummeted into the water below. His big body landed right upon that of the shark and he could feel the rough skin scrape up his pads. Jaws opened wide and he bit hard into the dorsal fin. The big fish thrashed in surprise and tried to turn, but Quill was pressed so tightly against it that he was... unbiteable.

Just a quick jaunt across the land bridge and up the rocky ravine to get back to Taiga. A trip to gather other cats like themselves to create a sanctuary for any and all that needed it. Hell, he wouldn't be opposed to non-felines joining either. The more the merrier! He was mulling this over, creating a list of ideas to share with Taiga when a commotion drew his attention to the waters. Stopping in his tracks, Raumr watches for a moment, frozen in confusion.
Two small wolf-dogs struggled, attempting to avoid a shark (seriously? A shark!?) while a larger male was leaping atop of it. The shark flailed, gnashing its multiple rows of teeth as it attempts to attack either the large male or the small boys, he isn't sure which. Clearly, they need help and who better than him? A massive feline was sure to spook the water beast... Even if enjoying water was only half of his genetics.
Following along the jutted piece of land that Quill had taken, Raumr waits a moment until the tail flings in his direction. Leaping out into the shallows, Raumr wraps around the shark's tail and hurriedly tries to drag it toward land. If they could beach it, the thing would be useless.

Okay so maybe Davey hadn't expected it to go that badly, at least that fast. The shark appearing in the shallows, and everything going to chaos around him. He's reveling in it, though the sight of his brother bleeding was a bit more distressing than it should have been. Something about sharks, blood, the water... oops.
But they're not alone for long, the presence of the larger man and the-- holy shit is that a lion? There would be time to be excited about that later. Cats like fish, and what's a shark if not a huge fish? Davey throws himself at the beast. Teeth snapping, snarling as he goes for a fin. The saltwater in his mouth, combined with the rubbery condition of its skin-- nasty. Oh fuck that's gross. Still, the shark was trying to eat his brother and it may have been his fault.
Splashing and pouncing, going for the fins, finding them and connecting while the shark thrashed.

Tide is panicking. He has no cool to keep, and there's frankly nothing cool about the shit Davey pulled. Not this time. Incredibly frustrated with his brother, and afraid of the shark, all he can do is thrash in the water. At least, until everyone assembles. Maybe Tide can borrow a little of their confidence.
Snarling and snapping, Tide changes course as he finds his footing on the rocky bottom. Scrambling, the boy drives himself for the shark's gills. Having caught sight of them moments earlier, they look like a good enough target. Sticking his head beneath the icy water and sinking his teeth around the flaps, Tide hangs on and does as much damage as he can, at least for as long as he can hold his breath. Coming up between strikes, gasping for air before diving back down. Vicious, terrible little dog that is.

The masses assembled, both Quill and a big fucking cat coming out of the woodwork. With the feline tackling the powerful tail and the dire brute pressed up hard against the sharks side with his jaws around one fin, it couldn't spin around very easily to bite either of them, though it tried. Gods, did it try. A shark was nothing but a lump of muscle with fins, he thought. Three canines and a feline did their best, working their way towards shore and avoiding the snapping and thrashing. The water became more and more shallow and it was more difficult to drag the big shark around. For a moment, Quill lost his hold on the fin. He quickly readjusted, hooking his fangs through the set of gills instead. The shark didn't like this much and thrashed anew, but they were up and on the rocky, sandy shore. It wouldn't be long now. Raumr is used to the awe and surprise at the sight of him. But now it was his turn to awe and startle at the shark that thrashed beneath their power and strength. He doesn't focus on the others, allowing them to do what they can to assist. Blood taints the water around them, the air, every bit of his chest and face as he chokes on it and the saltwater. His paws scramble for purchase against the slippery rocks as he continues to heave his body closer to shore. Sinking his claws further into the muscled meat of the shark's tail, Raumr refuses to let go. Even as his claws slide down that slimy skin and meat, he merely repositions and continues to yank backward. Slowly, but surely, they heave the shark onto land.

Davey was, perhaps, taking this less seriously than the rest. Ripping and tearing at first a flipper, and then the creature's slick back fin. Snarling and snapping, but all of it still felt like a game. Sure, a fight is a fight, is a fight. The actual gravity of the stunt he'd pulled on Tide? Never coming close to hitting him. Missed, like missing the broad side of a bus.
But still, taking the shark was fun. It became heavier as they moved out onto the rocky shore, dragging the beast with all their might. At least Davey thought he was helping. You know, not like a full blown lion is applying more pressure than a pup.

Tide is vicious, trying to channel his frustration at his brother into taking out the colossal fish. He's going for the gills, and dealing as much damage as he can muster. Quite a series of attacks from the small dog, truly pulling himself into a state of all out. Still, even in this state, he needs to breathe. Trying to remember to pull his head above water, gasping and gulping for air.
Even as they drag the beast toward the shore, Tide's feet barely reach the ground. It's getting taxing, getting tiring, and he's fading more than a little as they rally against the massive shark. That, and it tastes terrible.

The water grew more and more shallow and soon the quartet had heaved the shark onto dry land. The bastard flipped and flopped, launching itself all over the place. It was dangerous. One could break a tooth or worse. Quill kept his hold on the gills until they had the shark far enough from the waters edge that there was no hope of it returning and breaking free.
Quill released his hold on the fish and danced backwards, urging the others to do the same. Out of the water, the fucker would dry up and die. The marbled brute settled down beneath one of the overhanging pines and licked at his abraded lips. Shark skin was rough.

Somehow, some way, they were doing it. Successfully bringing a shark onto land and out of the water. To their benefit, it was slowing. Thrashing less in his grip as he continued to his claws deeper into its slick flesh. The shark's blood flooded the waters around them, but he didn't stop. No matter how disgusting it tasted or how full his mouth was of gore and saltwater, he would not stop. Not until the shark was fully out of the water and could not attack nor defend itself.
Minutes passed, exhaustion began to seep into him. Finally, the shark was out of the shallows and flopping around on the rocky shore. Raumr quickly unhooked his claws and scrambled backward, out of the way. Soon, the shark would suffocate and dry up, dying a painful death. That at least would be what it got for attacking pups.
Blowing saltwater and gunk from his nostrils with a harsh exhale, he gives his coat a shake before turning to the two pups. The older male could take care of himself, that much he was sure of. Directing his attention to the boys, Raumr's brow furrows. "Let me take you home," his deep honey tones leave no room for argument.

Davey is enjoying this, probably far too much. Teeth against the slippery, nasty skin, watching the beast as it thrashed and fought against the other creatures who'd come to help. That was definitely a cat, and someone he'd need to investigate further when given the chance. But right. The shark!
Snarling as he rips into the beast's fin, helping ("helping") drag it further up shore. It got heavier the shallower the water became, dragging the beast with great effort. So. Heavy. The shark still thrashed, though it didn't find purchase anywhere. As the adults bade them retreat, Davey decides it's in his best interest to actually follow the instruction. This time.
The big cat offers to take them home, and Davey is too tired from the whole ordeal to argue. He simply nods and pads over to the man, expecting to be picked up.
