Kostas was off doing whatever it was Kostas was doing, which left Eudora to her own devices. Which, since they’d arrived in this dreadful place, wasn’t much aside from complaining. She could be honest with herself and admit that this place they stopped in was pretty in its own right, but that would mean admitting she could actually enjoy being here.

Trying her damn best to keep her clean, ivory paws on dry land, Eudora was finding it harder and harder the deeper she ventured into the willow grove. More channels of water spread and divulged from each other, covering nearly almost all of the ground between the trees. It was inevitable that her paws would get wet and she hated it. Hated it almost as much as being made to leave the confines of her very comfortable home back in Cypress.

With a huff, Eudora slides through the drooping branches, purposefully making noise and marking her scent along the smooth bark. She’s about to round the tree and move on when a rustle catches her attention. Freezing, muscles stilling, ears tuning in, she lifts her nose before wrinkling it. A male wolf, ugh. ”You could at least ogle me where I can see you,” Eudora drawls, her thick Greek accent ringing true as she scans her surroundings to find said intruder.

The strange comings and goings, the weird weather, the world around him shaking... Vendrick feels like he's losing his mind. Stir crazy. He's stir crazy, caught up in the Castle. Sure, there are sick wolves to be tending, but most days he's more of a hindrance than a help. Being a patient for so long doesn't translate to being able to treat anyone. Shooing himself out of the infirmary and heading north, he'll make himself useful.

Herbs. He's gone after herbs. Grumbling to himself as he moves through the Willows, curious as he does. Nose to the ground as he searches for lady slipper. With so many coming down with the worm-related sickness, Vendrick figures something to help with the tremors would be useful. That, and this place is pretty. Too pretty for its own good.

Speaking of too pretty for its own good. She catches his gaze for a moment, though his head remains low to the ground. He's looking for plants not company. Solitude becomes him, and oh-- shit she's already talking. Pretty, but the mouth on her though... Vendrick steps out from around the tree. "I'm ogling the plants, actually." His words come with a slow suffering sigh, though he allows his gaze to skate over her. Eyes narrowing, ears flickering back. The man's head remains low, and he drips tension as he watches her.

"Vendrick Carpathius"

She meets his gold gaze with a stare of her own. Noticing how he bristles, keeping his head low to the ground, her own fur bristles in response. His cutting words have her clicking her tongue behind her teeth, a slight rise to her lip to show her displeasure. "Lying won't do you any good," Eudora chastises, stepping forward, closer to him, keeping a neutral, but slightly defensive posture.

So he was a healer? Was that why he was looking at plants? This information did pique her curiosity, eyes moving from the boy toward their surroundings. If she looked, explored close enough, she would notice that there were indeed a variety of plants growing throughout the grove. Safe within the confines of the weeping willows. Thinking, contemplating, she keeps her distance, letting out a huff, lowering her own head to sniff at a nearby flower.

"If you are truly ogling the plants, which ones? Any in particular?" She questions him suspiciously. If he didn't have a good answer, he'd end up with a sharp bite to the cheek. It was safe to say that Eudora despised liars and oglers most of all - even if she did relish in the attention. Pretending as if she's only paying half attention to him, her eyes continue to scan the grove. Wilting flowers dropping slowly from boughs, leaves turning crisp around the edges. Autumn was here, the chilled wind told her as much.
