Adults. It was so hard to wrap his mind around the fact that their children were now full grown adults in their own right. A birthday party had been had, gifts had been given, but even with that milestone he still saw them as the tiny pups they had once been. Still, he knew time was moving on–and quickly at that. His aching joints told him as much. He hoped the Ancients would give him as many years with this little family he had made for himself, but he knew that wasn't promised so he shifted some of his attention away from the caretaking of Elysium to make sure he spent plenty of time with his kids with whatever time he had left. He sometimes wondered if he really had much more wisdom to pass down to them, but he had waited years upon years to be a father so he didn't want it to pass him by.
He brought Dominus out with him toward the pack's border along the edge of the rock garden as he set out for an afternoon patrol. It was a mild day, chilly though not too cold, with a breeze rolling through that was strong enough to ruffle their fur from time to time. His legs and hips wouldn't tolerate the colder mornings, but a little later in the day while the sun was out to warm the world a bit and he had some time to loosen up his muscles it was easy enough to keep up a good pace alongside his son. "You know, when I was your age I was just setting out to search for a Soul Mate," he brought up as they made conversation to fill the silence. He chuckled as he added, "You have the benefit of having such a concentrated population of wolves across all of Boreas and Auster at your disposal so you won't have to go on the lengthy journey I did... Unless someone has already caught your eye?"
"Deimos Mendacium"
