Shilah was lost in awe as he padded slowly around one tree and then another. Never in his life had he seen a forest filled with such majestic beings as those that stretched right into the bosom of the sky herself. Incredible, simply incredible. Padding onwards he paused at a particularly roughed up tree and examined the marks that littered it's side. Rut marks from antlers and claws of some sort? difficult to make out in the evening light. He knew he was skirting dangerously close to pack territory but he just couldn't help himself. He needed to know.

Shilah pressed onward pausing past budding elderberry bushes. A sign escaped his lips. He really, really needed to devise a way to carry supplies with him but so far he'd had no luck coming up with ideas or finding an intact human item that could be used. Surely there had to be something around? If only he knew where to look.

Sighing the young nomad continued on his way though a bit more cautiously. A hush seemed to fall on the twilight lit woods that suddenly made him wonder if he was being watched.

The demon was lounging in a tree, forty feet above the ground. A dark form wandered aimlessly through her forest, looking about in awe. A twisted daydream fought it's way into the forefront of her mind as she watched the lupine crawl ever so close to the base of her current seat.
The mutt paced around the base of her tree now, staring at the new marks she had scratched into it's surface. It's blue eyes twinkled in the ever lessening light of the evening, curiosity sparkling in it's eyes. How annoying. Slowly, silently, she would scale the length of the trunk, creeping closer and closer, until it was too late for the pathetic creature to run. A dark, growling chuckle left her dark lips as fear sparked in the upturned expression of the canid. Dropping onto the creature, she felt it's spine snap under her bulk as she laid into it. Fangs glistened with sanguine wine in no time at all, the throat of her quarry torn open in little time. Claws slashed through weak flesh like knives through melting butter, and a maniacal laugh left the maw of the best as she threw her head back and revelled in the mirth she received in causing death.

A sigh left her lips as she watched the approaching canine with bored pale golden optics. Long tail would flick in agitation as it crept ever closer, and a growl would leave her dark lips as she bared her fangs in disdain. "Why do your kind insist on invading my territory?" She snarled down at the mongrel, ghostly yellow orbs burning with annoyance. The tawny monster was not impressed, she had been told she would not have to worry about having her home invaded, and now she was having to deal with a lone mutt wandering about her part of the forest. "State your business or leave, pest." She would snarl, moving to perch upon the thick branch and lean down a touch. Lips would lift in distaste and aggravation, cold gaze burning as she waited for an answer. Long tail lashed angrily at her rear as she glared at the ebony furred canine within a few paces of her current resting place.

Ominous silent blanketed the forest and almost simultaneously the sun hid it's face behind the clouds. It was then Shilah caught the scent of cougar. It made his fur stand on end both with fear and awe. The great cats were sacred to him. Great spirits of hunting and of courage and he'd never seen one before in his life. Ever. Mountain lions were also guardians of the northern direction in his mothers old legends. They possessed powerful medicine and vast wisdom and were also associated with the afterlife. Living ghosts. Nearly perfectly silent?

"Why do your kind insist on invading my territory?"

Shilah jumped whirling around to find himself gazing at the magnificent cat, her golden eyes boring right into him. He was certain his mouth had fallen agape as he tried to answer her.

"Forgive me, Great one" he said bowing deeply, uncertain how to act around one such as she. "I was wondering in search of medicinal plants when I found this forest, but I see it's majesty is nothing compared to yours. Had I known a spiritess of the hunt resided here I would have shown greater respect."

Shock and awe greeted her approach, the black wolf stammering to appeal to her humanity. She chuckled, a dark sound more like a chuff than anything. The beast's posture would change, relaxing enough for her to lounge now upon the branch. Fangs would be bared in the faint light as she grinned devilishly down at the lupine. "Your lack of respect is purely in your genetics, dog." She growled coolly, keeping a cold, pale golden gaze upon the lupine on the ground. Tail tip would flick in aggravation, not to keen about the presence of a wolf in her territory. This one may be bowing to her greatness, but she was not in the mood to be in the presence of the pests. A yawn would stretch wide her powerful jaws, massive paws flexing as she revelled in her relaxation.

Turning to face the mutt at her feet, the monster would look down at him and gesture with a powerful paw towards the borders of her land. "You will probably only find medicinal plants outside of my territory, the other mutt's have hoarded them all there." She lazily informed him, though in earnest she could care less about the concept of healing. The whole thing was simply for creatures who couldn't fend for themselves, unlike the tawny daemon, who could more than handle herself in the world. Her kind were powerful, they did not need the art of healing unless it was truly serious.

OOC: Sorry for crap reply, no muuuuuse

Being in the prescience of such a great cat was thrilling but also nerve wracking. He was quite aware of the potential for this conflict to turn violent, especially as the great cat seemed to be in quite a bitter mood and could easily turn this encounter into a fatal one. Shilah frowned a bit about his supposed 'lack of respect'. True he'd accidentally stepped over the boundaries of her territory but he'd been more than apologetic since meeting her.

Shilah decided not to press the issue as she did offer him some helpful information. It made sense he supposed. The great trees blocked out most of the sunlight making it difficult for smaller plants to grown and flourish within this particular forest. And there was indeed a pack nearby. "I thank you very much, your esteemed greatness. I'll leave your territory and never set foot in it again without your permission." Turning Shilah moved to leave.

ooc: it's alright, I don't either. haha? um, well Shilah's not one to press his luck so he'll leave unless stopped for some reason. Sorry that was so uneventful. He's just too polite haha. xD
