AND SO MY WATCH BEGINS

Quote:She knows not what to do in her pain. Her rear hurts something fierce, her once wonderful tail nothing but a nub. Alas, Amalia feels hazy. She does not return home right away; the tree which pinned her tail down was traumatic, but the feeling of her own jaws gnawing through bone and flesh until the limb detached. She is by no means a fragile child, but she cannot help but feel haunted by her tail.
Alas, the girl finds herself in the North. She has been missing from home for a few days, legs carrying her non-stop due to the pain. Her steps, which were once graceful and swift, are now clumsy and stumbling. Not only does the pain make her weakened, but she feels traumatized. She tries to stray from trees; every breeze makes her flinch, every rustle of branches makes her jump.
She finally comes to rest in the North, laying belly down in the cold snow. Her eyes are wide, pupils dilated, heart beating rapidly. Alas, the russet-kissed princess cannot calm herself. She needs to rest, to gather energy to return home, but it seems as if sense has abandoned her for now.
