He had been a good boy. He had made himself leave Atlas at the Sound and head home when he'd been told to. He had followed directions to the t (which was saying something given his personality), and his life was about to dramatically change anyway. Kyarst was only a hundred yards away from the safety of the den when the ash cloud flooded Glaciem with a thick, heavy, black powder. His lungs abhorred the substance immediately, but it was no use. The child coughed, once.. twice, then consistently. With every breath he had to take in to sustain his life he only clouded is lungs more. He began to wheeze, not fully expelling the powder, but not drawing in any more of it either. Eyes widened with fear as he felt his oxygen intake declining - his body weakening and his lungs screaming for clear, fine air. His legs buckled beneath him as he fought the air around him thick with powder and dust. He would let out an exasperated cry, but hardly any sound would escape him for he had very little air to push it out of his lungs. Diaphragm worked overtime to merely keep him alive. He couldn't stand much more of this. There was another exasperated cry, one akin to the sound he would have made had he been drowning. In a sense he was. Dry drowning. As the cry left his lips his bodice crumpled to the earth, sides heaving in and out at rapid pace, striving - clawing for air. The world around him spun and blurred, growing darker by the second as the last strains of consciousness left his tiny blackened frame.

He never knew what hit him.

ooc; Kyarst is now unconscious, permission given for Six to move him to a safer place (preferably his den).

EXHILARATE THE HARD AND EXTERMINATE THE WEAK

filled with excess demons ya'll can bring the exorcism

The behemoth was surrounded by the thick ash that fell from the dark sky. Her violet orbs stung as the dust and harsh particals flew through the air. The woman looked around her home, barely recognising it from the grey atmosphere. She blinked to get a better view but all failed. The woman shook her head and sucked in a quick breath due to her lack of ability to breath. She inhaled a good gulp of ash and dust making her cough and cough. She crouched over and spat up saliva and some goopy grey stuff. She spat it out and growled. Though, in the distance she swaer she saw a small black lifeform. The woman squinted this purple eyes some more in attempt to get a better view. But then, she heard some chaoking much like her own. The behemoth pranced onward to see if she was correct. She held her breath to avoid breathing in more ash but she finally had to suck in a few small breaths. She wheezed and nearly gagged again. She could feel her lungs tighten. Sharp pains flickered in her chest. The black and white woman urged on as she saw that the creature was a pup. He was familiar, she had seen him at the meeting. It was the Queens. Six trotted forward quickly. She saw that the tiny male was in great pain and unable to breath. Without another word the brute dipped her head down and grabbed the little boy by the scruff. She would carry or drag him to saftey if she must. The woman trotted closer to the dens as she got closer to the Queens. She could feel her lungs tighten even more since she could only breath from her nose. She was slightly dizzy from the lack of oxygen. The ash covered her fur in a thick layer. When they got to the den the woman set the pup down and quickly stared him in the eye. She held back a cough, she wanted him to feel safe. Though her chest burned as if she was going to drop then and there. She spoke breathlessly, "You are safe." She let out a round of harsh coughs, just causing herself more pain. Six sat and gasped for air. Though, she had a duty. The woman rose her head and called for Sendoa or Isardis to fetch the tiny boy. Those purple orbs slipped back to the ebony pup as she forced a tiny smile. "Everything will be okay." Six coughed and gagged a few more times as they waited.

He had barked, then howled, warned his people of the Ash cloud that seemed to have cloaked his beautiful abode in a silky-grey smog. But perhaps the King was not quite so foolish as to embark on the deadly journey to check each of his babes and members; he would drop back into the small gully, falling nose first into the safety of a barely used den. Only a short distance from Sendoa?s usual resting place, situated close to the still waters of the small pond that loitered above The Meeting Tree. It was safe beneath an overhang of earth, and facing away from the wind; managing to allow the albino the relief of clean oxygen. Alone, he would worry for the state of his lands, if they would ever truly be magnificent again, and if his people were safe. But nothing seemed quite threatened enough to risk his own health, and so the man would remain crouched until all seemed safe.

That was of course, until the jolting cry of a woman would send the mans ears flicking backwards; searching for the reason behind her call and it?s desperation. It seemed addressed to a superior, and what was more, it seemed relatively close. He would hesitate, muscles reboring momentarily beneath his hips as he would ponder the sanity within his decision; but alas he was a King, and he did not wage wars and battle the great just to whimper beneath the palms of nature. A gasping of air would be held beneath his lungs, and rapidly he would leave the safety of his chosen structure to crawl from the mouth of the den. Ash littered the frosted earth, pale lashes blinking frantically to keep the muck from his ruby gaze. But he was distracted, lured by the distant sighting of a woman by their den.

With desperation he would come to recognise the events that had unfolded. Six, the newcomer he had met only briefly at the meeting, would sit crouched over the motionless body of his son, and immediately Isardis would fret. Although he may have considered the woman an omen, he could do no less than assume she had helped the boy. Instinct told him the child was alive, reaching downwards with barely an astonished glance at Six, clasping the dark boys scruff beneath eager jaws and a muffling through the thick of Kyarst?s coat, ?Can you walk?? directed to the woman; but he would not stay for long, loping eagerly away as he would drop again to the sheltered confines of the den he had found, dropping the boy within it?s clear safety. With a gasp of clean air, he would stand at the entrance, gazing up and over the rise in the earth, waiting to see if the rescuer had managed to follow.

It felt like her chest was caving in. Her eyes watered horribly and her entired body weakened slowly. It was a struggle to get a breath in. Each gulp of air was mixed with ash. It all started from that first bit of ash she sucked in, now it stung. It stung painfully. Six growled in fustration but she did not want the little boy to wake up and see some crazy woman growling to herself. The black and white woman coughed up some more goopy stuff before pawsteps were heard. The woman looked to her side to see the pale King slithering her way. She looked back down to the ebony boy who laid knocked out upon the ground. She leaned down and nudged him lightly before Isardis moved in. Six watched as he scooped down to pick the boy up. He looked to her and asked her a question. The woman was in agony but she nodded. Mumbles were let forth, "Of course. The behemoth got up and moved behind him. She followed him with eager eyes but her lungs stung like hell. Coughs and gasps for air were heard. "He must have inhaled to much ash.."

He would lay limp upon the earth, sides moving robotically - instinctively. Even in unconsciousness it seemed life wished to preserve his tiny frame. A being, perhaps heavenly, perhaps earthly, would raise his frame from the earth, carrying him to a safe haven where he could be tended to. Fresh air became available, and his lungs would suck it in selfishly - craving every bit of it. He would cough and sputter, phlegm expelling from his throat and nostrils as he fought for life. Eyes blinked open, watery and blurred as he struggled to purge his lungs of the vile substance he'd breathed. Lungs burned and stung like they were on fire as he shook his head violently. There would be a moment in which he could steal forth a large amount of air before coughing up more phlegm and finally clearing his lungs totally. Breaths were still ragged and uneven, but they were far more frequent and thorough than before. Finally, life seemed to have decided it best for him to continue living. ?Da,? he would chide almost pleadingly, his voice weak and rasped. He found himself taking in long, deep breaths - as if each one held the key to life itself. ?What happened?? he finally managed, his body now adjusting to being able to breathe clean and fresh air again.
