Death from Below

The terrible and intoxicating foul stench of the tar that had formed all around the proximity she was known to be in. This was something her body and senses have never experienced before, and it was down right rancid. The smell mixed with what appeared to be rotten eggs and sulfur. What sulfur was, she wasn't quite sure, but it sure as hell smelled like it. Her paws had dug into the soft, and somewhat hard earth that kept her from walking right into the stinky trap that revealed itself to her.
"Come and kill me, I know you wish you could." Esperanza spoke out in disgust when a bubble from the puddle of tar popped and it appeared as if it was speaking it's own language to her, which made her upset and disturbed greatly. Her adoptive father had never told her about places like this, but, she did know one thing; to get away and to survive from this hell that had somehow formed on earth.
Everything was a grey and black. The sky was mixed with the smell of the tar, and the color of a darkening sky once a storm had come into the lands. The sky was just dark, and the trees have been stripped of their leaves and had never began to grow again. It seemed like she was in a horrible place, where a monster could pop out of anywhere and swallow her entire body whole.
Esperanza was brave, but sometimes fear could seep inside her form and make her terribly wish she was in a warm den and not anywhere around this place. She soon heard a bubbling sound as tar had begun to bubble again, which made the femme aware of the predicament before her, as she made it through with a leap and panted slightly. She smelled another smell mixed between the tar's unpleasant aroma and growled slightly in a guard like way. She knew only one thing could be making her feel this way as her hackles rose and her obsidian colored teeth shone and she knew one thing, it was a wolf in this area too. Not knowing if it was a friend or a foe made her stand on end as she waited for the arrival of the Canis Lupus.
