He felt the whispering breeze carress his ivory fur. The icy blue orbs of the male wolf opened to a shimmering sunset reflected off of crashing waves. Sea foam washed his large paws, cooling them from the long treck they had encountered. The crimson blood washed out of the beast's dry, cracked pads and into the slippery sand, just to be carried away by the clear waves. Jay cocked his handsome dome, admiring the array if colors painted so effortlessly onto the clear sky. How he wished to share this moment with someone...anyone...so long as they enjoy the display just as he.

"This sky speaks of beauty" Jay murmured to his lonesome self. The yellows, oranges, and reds slowly seeped from the sky, leaving a morbid navy sky. The lone wolf hung his head in disgrace, closing his once clear eyes that now filled with thick tears. His rage had blinded him all his life. Kill kill kill was all he ever thought. His selfishness and pride had killed his heart, his soul was withered and tired; Lonley and ashamed. The broken wolf lifted it's cranium and howled, a long and sad song. Of betrayal and loss; of murder and strife. Of love and hate. After he finished his sad story, he dropped his head to his chest once again, and a single tear slipped out of his crystalline eyes. His heart felt like mush. He wanted to do some thing about his anger, but the only thing he could think of doing to fix that, was killing, and he needn't go do that again. The defeated animal collapsed in a heap of soft downy fur, and seeped his heart out in the beach of Emerald Island.

Esperanza could sense the sadness that emanated from the brute before her. She hated to see sadness in someone's eyes and spirit. It reminded her of not having a family when she grew up, but only an older male wolf who taught her everything she needed to know. Her emerald optics reflected from the sun's rays and listened to the sounds of the sea gulls that echoed throughout the island.

"I must go over there," she said to herself as she walked over to the male and continued to feel the depression inside of his form. She couldn't help but shed a tear of her own from the male's sadness and nudged him in a friendly way.
