Quote:
The pack had made the trek, and Chrysanthe had watched the group with care. No member would be left behind, no one would be forgotten, the alpha had pressed on from the front, but stops had been made for water and rest, and it began to feel slow with her excitement to usher Valhalla to it's new home, but it never dragged on. Their pace was a comfortable one, she had Azalea and her children in mind, as well as Soliel's children, although the girls were quickly growing in age and size. Finally, the alpha would yip from her post, her tail wagging idly behind her - as she could hear the ocean, and taste the salt in the air. Chrysanthe would lift her head and give a short howl to the wolves that were traveling around her. It was a joyous sound that signaled the end of their journey. "We're here!"

She would wait before she crossed the water, let any injured, pups or elderly cross first. The strong would aide them, help them along where they could. The water here was shallow, but it was enough of a swim for her to want to keep an extra eye out. The alpha sighed with relief though, the beach up ahead signified the new start that she had been pushing for. It had taken a bit longer than she had hoped, but this island would be a good home for all of them - this was a good change, it had to be.
ooc: this is the entry thread for any and all Valhallans that have made the move to Nephilim Islands ^-^ Any new threads in Valhalla should be made on this board~

The move had been nothing but a bucket of stress for Azalea and she was pretty sure that just about every Valhallan was ready to be rid of her. Fussing of the pups and making sure that whichever she wasn't carrying was being held properly and comfortable.

When it came to crossing the water Azalea had damn near put on the brakes, fearful of trying to cross with pups that were so young. As they finally came to land on the solid grounds of the island, faced by the unknown, Azalea felt both excitement and fear. She loved new places and she had never been to this place nor any like it before. On the other paw, it was a completely new start and she would have to figure out how to keep her children alive here.

Chrysanthe would stop ahead of her, lifting her muzzle and howled joyously. Azalea waved her tail but could not bother to howl along with her. "Now to settle in." Her voice showed the wear on her energy level. She was tired and honestly didn't want to be bothered with finding a secure location for the puppies to stay. There was no rest for the wicked though, she would press on.

She would follow a bit behind the ground, not really feeling a need ot be in front or the middle. Instead the girl would lag behind a bit, watch the others, help if anyone needed it. A swim, not very deep, shallow but it was enough to make the girl tired by time they reached the show. With a deep breath the girl would finally touch sand, lifting her body from the water and up onto the shore a few small feet. Quickly she would shake the water before turning back and assisting those who needed help.

With a twitch of her stump tail, the yearling would stand with her paws buried in the sand. Blue and golden orbs would stare at the warm sand for a few moments before lifting and scanning over the island that would become her new home, a strange place to go, but if Chrysanthe brought them here then Seraphine would believe it was because she thought the new place would be good for the pack.

Though she had returned to Valhalla, it seemed her presence had largely gone unnoticed. In her early childhood, she had been flighty and distractable -- a stark contrast to her sister's dedication and perseverance. Her time away from her home, and from her family, had changed her considerably. Especially upon return, and upon learning what he family had endured while she had been gone. The world was not all fun and games.

The swim was not difficult for the agile yearling, but she remained near the others, though her body wished to push ahead. Silence would wash over her as she paddled, alone, watching the forms of her pack mates as they bobbed up and down in the water.

It wasn't long before they made it to the shore of their new home. A sigh would escape the girl's lips as she padded near Chrysanthe, turning to gaze upon the wolves that trailed behind them, searching mainly for her mother and her sister.

The journey to Valhalla's new home was in progress. After a few days of resting, travelling, and making sure everyone was within howling distance, the pack had moved from the Valley to the island. Odette's eyes had filled with wonder as they were at the shoreline of the beach. She hoped that this new place of refuge would be worth the efforts her pack had made to reach it. The war had done a number on most of her pack members; those who needed the rest would find it here.
She didn't hesitate to step into the water when her mother went first. The temperatures were freezing, but she could handle whatever the world tossed in her direction. Strong, long legs hit the ocean water and kept Odette afloat as she paddled from the beach when the ocean floor gave way. A light wave of anxiety swept over her head, for she had heard of water creatures that were big enough to eat wolves in one gulp. At this thought, she had stuck next to Chrysanthe as they swam. Her mother's warmth and presence made the anxiety disappear and she was fine.
It didn't take long for Odette's feet to greet the sand beneath the waves. Her weight automatically pushed down on her paws and she gave a soft "Oof" as a result. When she felt the water edging away from her body, she scurried to higher ground and automatically shook herself dry. Fur stuck out in all directions, but she didn't care. Odette turned and faced the sea of oncoming pack members. With a proud smile on her face, she padded towards Chrysanthe and watched with eager eyes. "I can't wait to see what we will do with this place, Mother," she softly said. "This island holds so much for us...and we will do the best we can with its abundance."

Meili padded along with the rest of the pack on this long journey they were on to their new home. She stayed as close to Gael as she could during the journey, but she knew that with him being one of the bigger, stronger wolves in the pack that he would be needed to help out the younger or weaker wolves as they got further and further into the trip, especially when they got to the water. When she finally pulled herself out of the water onto the shore of the new island she gave a sigh of relief. They were finally here.

She walked up onto the mainland of the island, her teal gaze taking everything in. This was their home now. This is where she and Gael could live the rest of their lives, where they would be married, where they could raise a family. A smile crossed her muzzle as she turned her gaze to her love. She'd have to talk to him about that eventually, she guessed. But, for now, she'd just let the both of them settle in and get the rest of the pack safely to shore. She turned back the way she came, watching the rest of the pack follow Chrys onto the island, keeping an eye out for anyone that might need her help.

Walk | Talk | Think

The crossing may have been short and the water shallow, but by the time Ashtoreth's paws touched ground and she was able to pull herself clear of the waves she was glad it was over. She had always enjoyed being by the ocean, listening to the waves, basking on the beaches, running through the shallows. Getting into it and tackling its strong, relentless currents was something else entirely. The little grey hunter knew she was not much as far as mass and muscle went and therefore had little with which to fight back against it, but she did her best to put her quick paws to good use and get herself to their new island home as fast as she could, paying little to no attention to those around her aside from any encouragement until she was free and safe again on land.

Sopping wet and feeling a little shaken from the crossing, she went only a few steps clear of the waves before she stopped to close her gold and purple eyes and shake as much of the salty ocean water from her coat as she could. A little groan slid from her muzzle as she moved further up the beach to join the rest of the pack. Already she felt as if she needed to find any source of fresh water to splash in at the very least. And definitely something to get the strong tasting ocean water out of her mouth.

"Won't be making that trip again any time soon," Ash mumbled to herself, shaking once again as she stood back and set her eyes upon the island stretching out ahead of her, already curious what it hid as far as sustenance that she might be able to find and catch for meals for the newly settled in pack. But there were other matters that needed her attention presently; turning her attention to those arriving she counted the familiar faces and looked to see how she could assist without getting back into the water.

Peace. His pack would know peace now. They were traveling far away from Glaciem, from their old home. The Vericona Plains were something of the past now. All the blood and tragedy that had happened across those plains would be long forgotten, put behind them. They were getting a fresh start at a new life and Gael couldn't wait to get started. Especially now that he and Meili were going to get married. The young Heir had been sticking close to his aunt, trying to aid those wolves that struggled a little during the journey, mindful to keep an eye on his wife-to-be, unable to keep the stupid grin from his lips anytime he even remotely glanced at her.

The swim to the island was painless, easy really. For him at least. There were a few that needed assistance and the young Adravendi didn't hesitate to help them, making their crossing to the island that much easier for him. A sense of relief washed over him as his paws touched down on the new sand, ceruleans dancing across the new landscape. Home. Home. This was there new home. He would turn to glance at Meili, the idiot grin still plastered to his lips as he continued to help those in need get onshore.

The boy had traveled with the pack, and though he was only a year old, he had helped when it was needed. Thoughts of how he would help his mother had plagued his mind since his father had informed him of her memory loss. He had been keeping an eye on her from a distance, for fear he would scare her. He did not want to approach her until his father was with him.

Aside from that, he didn't even know if his siblings had been informed yet as he hadn't seen his father in several days. Not since the war, therefore he did not know if his father even lived. He needed his father's council now more than ever.

Silently, he waded into the water after looking around to make sure no one needed his help. Once on the other side their alpha would proclaim that they were finally home. Ravine offered nothing more than a smile before moving away to shake the water from his pelt and making a mental note to look for his father and to make himself known to his mother.

Days felt like hours, hours like minutes, and minutes like seconds as the beach drew closer. With a happy yip he ran into the water, prancing over shallow waves and paddling the rest of the way to the shore of the island. "Come on everyone! Time's a wasting." He called, drying himself on the sand. The island was not unlike the one he had landed in not too long ago. Tropical, temperate, secure, most definately. He would do well here. He could teach the navigators of the tides, teach the hunters of the tropical wild life, and most importantly, teach the medics about the herbs the island had to offer. He jumped onto his hind legs in excitement and bounded from one edge of the beach to the other. Favor had smiled upon him.

The ivory girl kept herself within the throng of wolves, as much as she wanted to hang back and keep an eye out for her mate, wanted assurance that he would find her again. He always seemed to... still they would be moving quite a ways away from their former pack lands. She forced herself not to allow herself to dwell on such things, she trusted him beyond what words could explain. So Alamea would trot along, happy enough that she and the pack were finally putting those accursed plains behind them. A yip would rise from her alpha and the pristine girl would lift her head. They were upon the shore then.

She would plunge easily into the water, paws pushing at water. It was cold and she was small, not nearly as strong as some of the others but she would persist, her efforts rewarded as her paws pushed against sand and she pulled herself from the water. Moving off some she shook the water from her pelt, and looked towards her new future.
