Cold. Everything is cold. Why is snow so cold? I want to be back home with Momma, where is she? I miss her so much...I can't even remember the last time I saw her...That stupid dog, why did she have to take me away? Why did she have to take me from Momma? I didn't do anything bad. I was just sitting on my rock under the stars; the ocean singing it's sweet music. Then she came, and I tried to run...but I wasn't fast enough. The pain, I had never felt pain before. Not until I was taken to that horrible place...the place where I saw Avalon. Had she been taken too? I didn't get a chance to be with her...but she looked hurt. Ugh...I don't even know where I am!

Kestrel sat, her haunches settling into the snow. She looked around, eyes wide and scared. Her stomach rumbled, unable to recall when she had last eaten, though she was sure it was quite some time ago. She couldn't exactly tell. Her stomach constantly pained her, the berries had been very scarce since winter had arrived, and the left overs from other creatures kills were not enough. She wanted to find her mother, to seek the warmth and comfort of her silky soft pelt. She wanted the comfort of someone, anyone! To see some sign of life, she craved some sort of interaction. Even though she couldn't talk, as far as she knew and as far as she tried. She was bereft of that simple task.

Her vocals produced a small whine, a whimper that would hardly be classified as a whimper or whine of any sort at all. She had never been able to talk, or laugh, or bark, or anything. The most she could do was produce strange airy noises. Although it had been quite a long time since she ever tried...then again, had she really tried? She felt it didn't matter. She would never be able to talk anyway. Her brothers always got to laugh and talk and tell their mother what they had seen and done. Oh her brothers...she even missed them and their annoying shenanigans...A tear would find itself at the brim of her eye, slowly trickling down her face, a trail following it. She would sit there, lost and shivering from the cold. Hungry, and scared from being lost and unable to figure out how to get back home where she would be safe and sound.

The young maiden had decided to go out and wander, escape the boredom she felt within her father's Kingdom. So, she had found this strange place. The submerged woods. Beneath her feet was an entire forest, but a dusting of snow blocked it from sight. Orchid toned optics laid upon a dark figure, small and alone. How strange. Picking up her pace, the fae trotted towards the other wolf, and found it to be a pup. At least, she thought it was a pup. From behind, it was hard to decipher these things. Sidestepping, the dame lowered her delicate cranium so she appeared smaller and less intimidating as she padded around the lupine. It was a pup, and a starving one at that. Poor little creature, maybe she was lost? Parting ebony lips, the alabaster masked she wolf greeted with stranger with soft, sweet alto lyrics. "Is something wrong, little one?" The damsel inquired, tilting her cranium to the side. She was small, one of the tiniest wolves out there, and she was fully grown. Russet banner swung at her hocks, attempting to seem kind and gentle, exactly what she was, most of the time. Rusty brown fur was thick and lustrous again, covering her petite, curvy frame which had just recently filled out again. Her ivory mask made her appear almost like a ghost to some, but at the moment the fae's cherubic features were played upon by a curious, kind smile. As she stood before the tiny pup with her cranium lowered, the woman took in the strange appearance of the child and hoped she was alright.

The snow fell lightly upon her pelt, sprinkling the midnight black parts of her fur with fresh flecks of powder that would make it appear as if the stars were embedded in her fur. She glanced at them, trying to seek comfort in the similarity of her pelt and the night sky. Where had the celestial spirit wolf been in her dreams? She had not seen her since she had been kidnapped, and wondered if the dream wolf had decided to abandon her. A tear slid down her face at the thought, she had seen that celestial being the moment she had been born...perhaps even before. She had guided her, helped her decipher wrong from right. And now she was lost.

She startled when a voice came across her, soon after her green eyes fell upon a small frame and instantly she stumbled back against the trunk of the tree. She was afraid, afraid that she would take her away like the last woman had and she would never see her mother again. She pressed herself against the cold bark, snow shuffling under her feet. Ears pinned to her head and eyes wary as she stared quietly at the approaching stranger, fur fluffing out in defense. Although the she-wolf didn't sound dangerous, she couldn't be sure. After all, that was how the last woman was too. Slowly and warily, she nodded slowly. Eyes keeping on her, watching her movements and never straying. I...I don't know where my mommy is...I don't know if I can trust this stranger...

Instantly the child reacted in fear, pressing herself up against the bark of a nearby tree and pinning her ears. The femme did not move from where she stood, her orchid optics softening as she made soothing sounds in the back of her throat. "Don't be afraid, I swear on my very life that I won't hurt you." She murmured softly, lowering her tiara as she laid herself down, slowly rolling on her back, baring her soft belly to the pup as a gesture of good intentions. She gave the opportunity to the youngster to take advantage of her prone pose, but muted pink orbs did not leave the face of the duo toned babe. A soft smile curved her dark lips as she remained still, waiting for the child's reaction. The soft nod she had received earlier in reply showed that the youngster wasn't paralyzed by fear, she still processed thoughts.
