Aphrodite padded silently through the hot springs, relishing in the quiet. The ebony mistress loved her sister, yes, but sometimes the girls twin just rubbed her the wrong way. Her constant complaining and arguing and just plain bitching was annoying as hell. However, as much as Persephone pissed her off, Aphrodite would never leave her. The girls had run away from their family's pack over six months ago; they were on their own, with nowhere else to go. If they separated, they would each be on their own.

Aphrodite turned her head from side to side, unnerving gaze searching for the perfect hot spring to rest in. The eastern lands of Alacritis were much warmer than anywhere else at this time of year, but Aphrodite felt a chill coming on. Perhaps the rapid shift in temperatures when she traveled to the East from the North had caused the young girl to come with down with something. Aphrodite was here at the hot springs to try to return some health to her luxurious, curvaceous form.

Finding a pool that looked inviting enough was no superior task; the girl simply chose the one that looked the warmest, and was deep enough to submerge completely but not have to worry about drowning. The next pool Aphrodite came upon was perfect for her standards; a larger pool, with a sandy bottom that sloped gradually deeper. The black-pelted fae slowly walked into the pool, sighing with relief as the warm water soaked her to the bone. Aphrodite waded deeper in, padding slowly, until she was submerged up to her chin. The girl unhurriedly relaxed each and every muscle, letting her thoughts drift blissfully away on the humid breeze.

The woman would continue to wander in search of a home suitable for her family, treading carefully over the lands she could sense but could not see. Natalya wondered what life would be like if she could see, but more than that she wondered if others handled blindness as well as she. She had been born and raised with her handicap, and had adapted to it quickly as she knew nothing else. She didn't not see in her dreams, because she had seen nothing to twisting in her mind. But what of those who came into blindness by some outside force? Did they function well on their own? Did their dreams feel more like being awake than the darkness of reality? The queen couldn't help but wonder this, and pity others for their potential weaknesses.

Today, she ventured quietly through the east and found herself catching the feeling of steam within her nostrils. She inhaled deeply, feeling it cleanse her sinuses. As she walked on she could feel heat emanating from what she had decided was a series of pools and was careful to take her time and move away from the warmer areas, not wanting to slip and fall into a pool that she could not escape. After a few minutes of solitary walking, a new scent wafted toward her, that of another wolf. Natalya stopped when she believed she was close, careful to ensure that she was facing the direction from which the scent had traveled, and gave a brief, friendly bark to alert the other of her presence.
