Starry eyed

Maybe to some this wasn't the post beautiful place to visit in Alacritis and with hardly any shade it certainly wasn't the most pleasant, but Niketas liked it. With the stipes in the stone and the interesting columns here and there it was unlike anywhere else he had been. His bright green gaze traced the landscape while his huge paws moved carefully over the rocky landscape. The sun was just moving past it's highest point in the sky, slowly moving back down toward the horizon. He was almost half tempted to wait around for the sun to set to see how these red-hued rocks looked under the moonlight and the stars, but the more he looked around he wasn't sure he would be able to find anywhere comfortable to sleep, not to mention that he'd likely trip if he tried to leave while it was dark. And, as they say, the bigger they are the harder they fall.

It had been a while since she had seen her family, she had dropped in on them gathering just in time to hear her mother break the news that she was pregnant and had kind of been avoiding them ever since. She wasn't sure how she felt about younger siblings? And so because of this she would leave, moving away from her mother and siblings and striking out on her own for another while. But even as she traveled and explored new lands she couldn't help but feel a pull, a bit of a tug that kept pulling her back towards something. She didn't know what. But today she felt the urge to follow that pull, allowing sturdy limbs to drag her stocky frame towards it. When she arrived she wasn't entirely surprised by what she found. Niketas was there, studying the red rocks curiously and slowly a smile would slip over her inky lips. Blue and gold striped form would move towards him before plopping herself less then gracefully at his side. "Niketas? Been a while?" What does one way in this situation? Hey man, sorry for peacing out on you and the fam?

Of all the wolves to appear out of no where! He caught her scent just moments before she appeared beside him, flopping down next to him and greeting him like it hadn't been months since he had seen her last. In fact the last time he had seen a large portion of his siblings had been their meeting with their mother. He blinked with surprise, but a lop-sided smile took over his muzzle all the same. "Yep, I would certainly say so, Bella." He chuckled and leaned over to bump her shoulder playfully with his own. He wasn't one to hold grudges or really even question why she had been away from him for so long. Really, he was just happy to see her again. All of their siblings, himself included, had taken such different paths with their lives that he was really surprised that they ran across each other as much as they did. "Well, I'm glad to see you all the same. What have you been up to, Bella?"

She didn't want to admit to herself that she had avoided her family like the plague but if she was going to break down and be completely honest? That was exactly what she had done. Was it weird that she felt like she was being replaced by a newer and better version of herself and her siblings? Maybe. She didn't know how her other siblings felt about it all and honestly she didn't really feel comfortable talking about it. So she was left with these weird feelings squashed deep down somewhere where they could rot for eternity and the feeling of something rotting in her gut. It was because of this feeling that she didn't look at Niketas right away, didn't really make eye contact to see his expression. Maybe if she didn't look at him then he wouldn't be surprised by the fact that she was here. But after a moment she would look at him only to see a lopsided smile and slowly a goofy grin would slip over her own features. Okay. Maybe this wasn't so bad. He spoke, words languid and easy as he leaned over to bump her shoulder. A gruff chuckle would roll up her throat as she returned the playful shoulder bump with a bit more pressure. "Yeah that would be my bad?" She would reply, broad shoulders lifting and falling languidly as she turned her head to look back at rocks her brother had been staring so intently at. She would let the silence lapse for a time before he would speak again and she would draw her gaze back to him. "Unfortunately absolutely shit all? Bored out of my mind mostly. Exploring the new lands to the south but thats about it. You? Seen siblings or mom or? kid siblings?" She almost had to choke out a term for younger siblings. God it left a bad taste in her mouth?
