She had been seeking a pack for a while, a ruler to follow. She had always been considered strange by those of her kind whom she met in her travels, but being raised by a wandering Red she wolf, she had grown to adore packs and all they entailed. So now, she stood on the borders of a pack she found in the warm, temperate climate, and let out a roar bark that only her species could utter. It echoed through the trees in the distance, and she stood calmly on the border, her violet eyes searching the shadows for sign of a wolf or two. Maybe she could find a worthy crown here, one she could work for happily. Her long, ebony cloaked legs held her extremely high above the short grasses. She felt edgy here, unsure of the alignment of this pack, which caused her to pace with her fiery cranium held low, obsidian mane bristling slightly with anxiety. Would this meeting go well? Or would she be forced to leave and find another pack? Her mind wandered, and the she knight waited, abnormally long legs carrying her along a swath of clear land along the border in a nervous pacing.

It had been quite some time since they had had rogues at their borders looking for acceptance, or at least that he was aware of. Instead of being joyful that his family was safe and his pack could go on another day without having to worry about being threatened, Cherokee just didn't feel the same anymore. He couldn't sleep well, wasn't eating too much anymore, but he was doing a pretty good job of keeping his inner turmoil hidden from his wife and children. He didn't want them to be affected by his brooding nature. So that morning the ebony knight had awoken early, caught himself a decent rabbit for breakfast before taking to the borders to patrol like he always did. The cool morning air did his lungs good as he inhaled the clean oxygen, expelling it as he moved across the border, sweeping the outside terrain with dual colored eyes. So far no one was around, which was a good sign. But that didn't last long.

An unfamiliar scent tickled the borealis' nose, peeking his interest. Surging forward, the ebony man would track the scent of the stranger until he came across the figure who the scent belonged to. The creature looked somewhat wolf-like in its features, but it was much too tall and gangly, limbs like skinny twigs and a very narrow muzzle. Steel and ivory jade gaze would narrow questioningly at the creature as he approached, plume curled over his hips. State your business here stranger. Why have you come to the Ludicael border? Baritone tones would spill from dark jaws as he stood before the strange rogue, awaiting her answer.

Her cranium would snap to attention as a male wolf appeared and stared her down, his voice demanding her reason for being here. Her violet eyes met his, bold and now a she was a little ticked that he was being so very rude upon their first meeting. But nonetheless, she would be obliged to answer, as any knight would be. "Hola Senor, I have come in search of a home, and if I am not to find one here, just let me know and I'll be on my way." She told him, her voice powerful but still polite. She lifted her cranium to stand at her full height, looking down upon the man with curiosity in her deep purple eyes. What strange markings this one had, they were intriguing, beautiful. She didn't think she would ever get used to seeing the uniqueness of the grey wolf's pelt, and enjoyed looking upon the coat of every one she met. As an afterthought, she let her voice slither from between formidable canines and ebony lips, stirring the air around her dainty muzzle. "So you are not forced to call me stranger, I will offer my name. I am Araceli Iris." She told him, dipping her head respectfully. Based on the dark male's demeanor, she assumed he was of higher rank within this pack, so respect was of the utmost importance here. Her short, ivory dipped banner flicked behind her, and she shifted her pose upon her tall, ebony coated legs so she faced the ebony and ivory man full on, large ears poised towards him in hopes of catching his voice again.

Her attention would immediately snap to attention as she realized that he had made his presence known. His frame relaxed ever so slightly as the questions left his jaws, realizing that he was being a tad bit more forceful than was needed. The strange woman before him wasn't trying to be hostile, nor was she showing any signs of aggression. She didn't deserve his bad manners. Hola Senor, I have come in search of a home, and if I am not to find one here, just let me know and I'll be on my way. So you are not forced to call me stranger, I will offer my name. I am Araceli Iris. She would provide her name for the borealis; Araceli. It was certainly a strange name, fitting for the strange creature, but it suited her just fine. His demeanor would soften as she presented him with a bow of greeting. Forgive me for the harshness Araceli, I am Cherokee, Borealis of the pack Ludicael. You come seeking a home in my pack? Where do you hail from? He was getting relatively good vibes from this woman, but he needed just a bit more back ground information about her before he could allow her to call ludicael home.

Quickly would come his reply, along with the softening of his muscles and relaxation in his stance. An apology came to her great ears, receiving a small shake of her delicate cranium. "It's no matter, I would react the same way to such a freakish looking creature on my territory." She replied with a chuckle, and yet another question came to her auditory sensors. She nodded slowly, confirming her aforementioned statement. Then once more came baritone vocals to her ivory lined, enormous ears. Where did she hail from? One of the most beautiful lands in existence, which was quite a long trip from there to these lands, one she would most likely not tell anyone. "I come from a place previously called South America, but is now only known for it's bizarre creatures and relative impossibility to reach from anywhere." She replied, her voice taking on a faraway, dreamy tone as she reminisced about her home, where she had lost a lot but gained just as much. Then her violet gaze turned to meet the male's bi coloured optics once more, and she decided to seat herself, effectively cutting down her stature to appear a little less intimidating. Her thick, coarse mane of ebony had long since flattened back down; and her posture was extremely relaxed now, the she knight comfortable talking with the Borealis. The maned wolf was definitely a strange creature, often called a mere fox on stilts, an extremely offensive title, since they were much more regal creatures than the fox, even though they shared many traits. She hoped she could gain a place in this pack, and maybe seek out the Alpha in hopes of earning a place as a knight, or something of the kind. So she waited, to see what came next from the man of dual tones.

A warm blush would crawl across the borealis' features, though it was hardly noticeable underneath his ebony fur. I wouldn't say freakish, more like unique. Because you really are pretty unique miss Araceli. The guardedness began to ebb away as the moments with the strange woman extended, the ebony knight allowing himself to fall back into his more normal, polite and friendly self. She would answer his question easily, proclaiming to come from a land called South America, that housed many bizarre creatures and was impossible to reach from almost anywhere. Dual-toned eyes would widen with curiosity. This South American sounded like a pretty interesting place to visit. Perhaps if he befriended Araceli he would ask her to take him and his family there one day. Were you part of a pack when you were in South America Araceli? Or do others like yourself not live in packs? She looked like a strange combination of wolf and fox, so he wasn't entirely sure what she really was in fact. She was certainly tall though, that much was sure. Haunches would fold beneath the man as he lowered himself into a comfortable sitting position to mimic Araceli's as he waited for her response.

Once more his voice filled her large auds, and she grinned as he tried to push away the truth she had provided. It was no matter to her, she understood how strange she looked to others around here. Though his polite demeanor felt nice to her, at least he was trying to make her feel at home here. "Why thank you Senor Cherokee." She replied, grinning. The male's baritone vocals reached her ivory lined ears once more, and he inquired about others of her kind. The only way she could really answer was to try and use words the male would understand, since the wolves of these parts were entirely pack animals. "We're mainly solitary animals, like big cats, only getting together to mate. But sometimes packs have formed when the time needed it..." She began, fumbling for words. She had just recently begun learning English, as it was quite a universal language. "But, I am different from most of my kind. I was found as a pup by a lone Red she wolf, and she raised me like one of her pups, which meant I began to prefer packs. I have learned many things about my kind through mistakes. While trying to hunt the animals there that resemble deer in these lands, I realized that we are not built to hunt big creatures, only little ones. So I may not be as much help as you think, but I have been hailed as a knight in my previous home. Does that make sense?" She asked, knowing full well that sometimes she used the wrong words, or the meaning of certain phrases were lost in her internal translations. Having spent only a few weeks around these lands, she didn't know what animals dwelled in the areas, or which ones to use in comparing her species to the wolves of Alacritis. So she waited, for the dark male's response, for his reaction, whatever would be a telltale sign of his thoughts on what she had just said.
