Why would you do this?
War was everywhere now and she wasn't ashamed to admit that it was severely bringing down her mood in every way. She had joined Talon's pack hoping that that would solve her problems, that loneliness and hunger would be chased away but now there were new worries and new doubts. The king really seemed to hate Talon, called him a freak and other names and Talon even cowered before him. She couldn't believe it, when they had spoken about her possibly joining Talon had made him seem like an alright guy but no... He was evil, he was cruel, manipulative and just an all around bastard. She had never really experienced hatred in her life before, had never had many feelings outside of need and hunger but suddenly they all seemed to be crashing down around her like a tidal wave. She couldn't even begin to explain everything that she was feeling for Talon never mind everything else going on in her life!
She tipped her head back, long legs carrying her along the beach at a leisurely pace as she tried to sort through the jumble of thoughts in her mind. She really didn't tune in until a voice drifted towards her, a soft feminine one at that. Head snapped down to its normal angle and immediately sharp lantern eyes were combing the beach for the source of the voice. The sound of it again was what helped her hone in on it and soon she was setting off at a swift trot. Though she was small in general her legs were long in comparison to the rest of her frame so they covered the ground quickly. And then they were coming into view, an older female with a thin boy on the beach. "Is he okay?" She called before she even drew close enough to see what exactly was happening. But he didn't look good and she seemed worried from the way she was hunched over him.
As she drew closer she realized he was soaked and barely breathing. Her heart nearly stopped in her chest as panic began to set in and her already large eyes widened. Large fox like ears pinned to her skull as she held her ground a short distance off. "Is there... Is there..." She tried twice to offer help but her voice cracked and shook so much that she just gave up. Lowering her head she slid forward again, slower now as she licked her lips and tried once more to communicate. "Can I help?" She managed to squeak out, and if she hadn't already been panicking so much she might have been ashamed of how her voice sounded at that point. She had never seen someone die before and she didn't want to see it ever, especially not today. He looked young, far too young to die.
