Earned in Blood

Bane took shaky steps as he paced the bottom of his hill. He should get it over with, come clean. But no, it wasn't the bodily harm that would come from this or the fact that he might be exiled. What would happen to Tahlia, or his pups? What would happen if he went through with this? Would they be punished too? They shouldn't for they didn't have part in it, but still, what if they were exhaled too? Tahlia would have to look after three pups all by herself, feed them, teach them, watch after them. This had been gnawing at his body like an old wound, and perhaps it was, ever since he saw his son playing with his Tahlia born he could hardly sleep. It was all wrong, he didn't know, he didn't mean to do it.
With gasp of pent up nervousness, Bane took off for a place away from his den and away from his family. Loccain, Loccain was going to ask Alena about his story he'd told the Seracian healer. The day his Tahlia gave birth to two wonderful pups, the third was inquired about when the healer had seen him. He didn't tell all of it, when Loccain had asked, he never said how he took his child. Nako was taken unconscious and bleeding from his family, Bane being bitter at the fact that Alena would've probably tried to keep them all for herself. But Bane deserved a pup. He had already lost five. The elder Seracian knew he had to come clean to the one he respected and feared. With a nervous tilt of his muzzle, Bane called for Maverick and squeezed his eyes shut, a tear falling and blending into the snow.

She would give a dip of her head when Maverick thanked her, holding back her own growl. She wasn't one to show her anger, to unleash it like a fiery mess. No, she would control it, not let it cloud her judgement. And so she would remain standing at the King's side, ears forward, waiting to find out what he would do about this problem. Before he would make a decision though, Bane would speak up. He would question her about if she really thought he would harm a pup, her nose would wrinkle at this question. She had thought he would clean up his act, but no, and he had lied to her when she did nothing wrong to him. He was capable of a lot of things. She would recline her head back when he brought up digging his hole too deep, indeed he did, she would not feel bad for him.
Then it came, Maverick would give the sentence, Seracia was no longer his home, banished and he would be marked to remember the monster he was. Yes, it was a good punishment, one the elder man deserved 100%. Upon the King moving forward Loccian would take a few steps back, out of the way of their fight but close enough in case he tried anything. She might not be able to do much but if she gave it all she got, the woman was sure she could make a difference.
Eyes would narrow when the man was given the choice to fight or take the punishment, he would lay low in the snow and continue talking about things that weren't relevant, as if he was trying to make Maverick feel bad. The only thing she could pick out was when he asked to not let Tahlia go out on her own, to let her stay here. Of course she would, the woman did nothing wrong, it was all Bane. It was just a shame that the children would possibly go without knowing or seeing much of their father.
His attention would turn her, making the woman roll her shoulders but not letting her gaze soften one bit. He would ask her to help take care of the children, and asked if she could not watch what would come. He didn't want this memory in her head whenever she looked upon his spawn, letting it effect how she treated them. Brows would come together at this, she was not that sort of woman, she would never treat children differently based on the actions of their parents, whether they were good or bad. They would be treated as though nothing had happened, it was the worst thing possible, to take it out on those who had nothing to do with such a thing. But even with all of this, he would call her too clean to help him. Maybe she was, but she would still help the children, even if he didn't want her to.
His words to Maverick would further disappoint Loccian, he was just going to take it, after all this time he had fought back. ?I will help raise them as if nothing happened, I'm not the type of woman to take such things out on innocent children.? She would say in a less angry voice, a bit more calm but still stern and upset.
It was now that she finally took a seat where she had been standing, leaving a nice distance between her and the two males. She would keep her head high, tail laying over her paws, body calm but eyes revealing she was still upset, but shone a bit of their original gentleness. "I will remain here till it's over, give one last act of kindness once this is over." Yes, she would not be going anywhere, she would stay here till the man blacked out or walked away. If he was knocked out and Maverick was finished, the woman would try to move the man away from the Kingdom, leave him in a small den with a small bit of prey for his new life till the end finally came. And if Maverick moved him then she would still leave the prey, maybe wait till he came too and offer him some herbs and explain how to apply them. Speak to him a moment about what should be told to Tahlia, what she should and shouldn't do now that he would be maimed and exiled. But that would be it, like she said, she would give him one last act of kindness.
