She never wandered too far from home, but here lately she had begun to wander. Ananke wasn't the sort of child that liked to stay in one place for long - she liked to explore, to see more of the world that she lived in. There hadn't been too much going on in Ludicael, although she had noted the pack was rapidly expanding and there were more and more members of the Destruction family piling in. It never bothered her, but it was a bit overwhelming - she would never be able to meet them all at this rate!

Although leadership had not plagued her mind as of yet, getting to know more wolves had. She was curious, wanted company - new company. The unfamiliar and strange was on one hand, very scary. Yet on the other it was what she craved. Acting on a burst of adventurousness she wandered out, her ears pulled up atop her head listening for anyone or anything that may be interesting. What she came across, finally, was the tweeting of birds. A lot of them. Silver amethyst eyes widened as she padded forward, further and further into the thicket. It was unlike the mangrove back at home, and she could only imagine what she would find further in.

Since joining Ludicael, it was not at all surprising that Anthem Destruction had not ventured far from his family -- despite the overall welcoming atmosphere of his fellow pack-mates. So it was a rarity to see him quietly slipping from familiar territory. He was cautious as he padded from the den he shared with his sister, rather timid and unsure of where he was going. Luckily, he felt assured he could get home okay -- it had been drilled in his mind that all he had to do his call, and his family would come immediately.

But still, the simple man was very much awkward and afraid of being alone for long. So his movements were careful and timid as he made his way away from Ludicael territory, finding his interest piqued by a rather rather tall area of grass. The snow had begun to fall, and yet due to the territory's position in the south, it had not yet accumulated much. With a happy bark, he began to pad into the field of grass, tail waving high above his back.

It was only when he saw another wolf nearby that he paused in his tracks, one paw lifted up near his chest. Strangers could be dangerous, his siblings had taught him that -- he had to be careful. But this girl seemed young. With a harmless smile, he let out a bark, greeting her with a sweet call across the plain. Overhead the birds would call back and forth, and though the air was a bit frigid, the sun remained shining nicely overhead. It made him feel rather calm, despite the dangers that he knew might lurk all around him.

Although she was idly looking for company she hadn't expected to be followed. The girl jumped hearing a bark from another lupine, but eased considerably when she realized that the stranger was not a complete stranger. He came from Ludicael, and she wasn't one to judge her packmates - at least, not on purpose. Staring at the pale brute, she met his liquid smile with one of her own. He seemed sweet enough, and although he was an adult, he carried himself so gently that it didn't matter. She could very well be standing before someone her age. The girl swept toward him with a few bouncing steps, staring up at his amber eyes with her own silvery purple ones. "Hello!" She said simply, and for a moment her world blinked into smooth shapes and creamy orange tones. From the corners of her eyes the layer spread, overtaking her senses and leaving her unfocused. When she blinked again it was gone, yet she felt completely at east with this male. "I'm Ananke - did you follow me from home?" She didn't particularly mind if he did, but she had to wonder.

Slowly, with great hesitation and care, he took a few steps closer. The man was cautious to a fault, and cocked his head to the left as he took a long look at her. Upon further inspection, he noted the girl was quite young. It pleased him -- he tended to fit in better with younger wolves. They understood him better. He loved romping around and wrestling with the younger pups back home. The vague recollection brought a smile to his unassuming features, and his tail waved freely behind him.

She approached him as well, seeming to recognize him. There was no similar recollection in his eyes, but her scent was familiar and welcoming. Not family. Must be pack. The girl was very pleasant to the eye, with a creamy coat like his own and interesting purple eyes. His golden gaze met her own; his happiness was evident in even his wide, interested gaze, as well as his lax posture. "What's Ananke?" He asked, genuinely curious what she was talking about -- but the smile didn't fade. Confusion was not new to him, but he wasn't always calm enough to embrace it. Often it frustrated him, made him flustered and unhappy. But it was a pretty day and the field was nice, and he felt at ease. "No, no, I don't follow. Just walking today." Though his voice was somewhat deep, masculine in nature, his voice held an airy, innocent tone.

Quote:His smile was disarming, and there was something gentle about the feeling he drew from her, calming colors and slow weaving shapes, Ananke felt there was nothing to fear from this male. Her ears twitched, and she held back a giggle as he asked just what an Ananke was - before her dark lips spread into a charitable smile. "Me!" She explained to answer him, her tail starting to wag behind her. "I'm Ananke, it's my name silly." The gentle teasing was not meant in any sort of malicious way, and judging by the girl's upbeat expression it was pretty obvious she meant nothing by it. This brute was strange - but she rather liked him, there was something honest about his answers that she appreciated - even if he was a little silly in regards to what seemed to be his common sense. "Well lucky you - it's a good day for a walk." She nodded at her own statement, before her gaze lingered on the cream colored male before her. "What's your name?"

This girl with the creamy fur and pretty amethyst eyes was young, having not yet reached adulthood -- it was her innocence and purity that made Anthem that much more interested in her. His intentions were thoroughly pure, even if he was a strange man, totally unlike anyone else in Ludicael. "Oh," he replied at her answer, unsure why she had laughed and called him silly. He slowly realized Ananke was her name, taking considerable time to process that fact even though she had stated it quite explicitly. "Mine is Anthem."

He would continue to pad beside her, his motions slower and more calculated now that he was in the presence of another. Ears would swivel on top of his head, his eyes alight with interest that he man could not dream of feigning. "Flowers," he stated softly, leaning down to nose some of the dying plants. Despite the rapidly cooling temperatures, some of the pretty things still fought to survive, and he was happy -- he liked the nice smell of the plains and wanted to spend more time here. "You like?" Curious gaze would find her, his mind whirling as he struggled to formulate his thoughts properly. Nothing came quite as easy with strangers for Anthem as they did when he was with family.

Anthem - Ananke found it interesting how most of Song's family was named with a theme in mind. Words were beautiful and meant something and they were all strong and sweet from what she had seen. The girl nodded, watching his expressions and wondering whether she would be able to befriend this man. He was a member of Ludicael, there was really no reason why she shouldn't be able to! She rather liked him, hopefully he felt the same way. Anthem moved beside her, and she would meet his eyes and close her own in a gentle grin. "I do like the flowers - the little yellow ones are my favorite." Dandelions weren't technically flowers, but she was none the wiser on the flowers being weeds. She would scour the ground around them, until she found one of the yellow plants, and stood over it, the little flower between her two front paws. "These! Do you have a favorite, Anthem?" Her question would be simple, but as curious as if they were talking about something truly important.

They would walk together, and he was content with the familiarity of it all. He was used to following alongside his siblings, and was more than happy to follow Ananke's lead if she allowed him. She proclaimed that she liked the flowers here, especially the little yellow ones. Yellow was a pleasant color to him, as was orange and brown, associated with the creamy markings that many of his siblings bore on their faces. He watched as she found one of the yellow flowers, and he padded closer to examine it.

"Favorite?" he inquired with genuine interest. His voice was soft and delicate, though laced with genuine wonder. He would murmur something softly as his gaze drifted from Ananke to the flowers that surrounded them. Many were dead, but some still stood tall. He would slip away from her, head ducking down as he examined them more carefully. "This!" he said, as he nudged a daisy gently with his nose. "This one my favorite!"
