Song had certainly been correct in stating that the tide pools made for a quick and easy catch. The two sisters hadn't spent too long at the beach and yet were now returning, successful in their fishing trip. Novella still had no idea what the tide actually was at this moment in time, though its pools were certainly something good, well perhaps not quite so good for the fish but it definitely was for the wolves.

Walking along at Song's side now, Novella followed as her sister led the way back through the lands towards the den. Although it may have taken her a little longer, the route was fresh in her mind and the younger wolf was sure she could have made it back alone if she had needed to. She'd found Ludicael again in the first place after all, made it to Alacratis safely on her own. She had a rather good sense of direction it seemed, not that she was even fully aware of this herself.

The den was coming back into view now and Novella looked ahead, disappointed to discover that Cherokee hadn't yet returned with the pups. Hopefully they wouldn't be too long, though she had briefly met Novel and Canta, she was eager to meet the rest of Song's pups and of course her mate. "I guess we have to wait a little longer then." She commented, glancing to Song as they continued towards the den.

They found themselves once again in the trail back to Song's den, the hopeful look on her face giving away that she was excited about seeing her children. She would be hopeful, but she was certainly doubting that the rest of them would be back by the time she and Novella returned. Their fishing trip had been rather quick in comparison to a normal hunt, silently she would wonder about a pack hunt. The thoughts were pushed aside, today was for family.
The den was obviously still deserted, "I guess we have to wait a little longer then." Song's face would have fallen a bit more noticeably had she not had a mouth full of fish. Ivory paws brought them gracefully up to the well packed dirt. Her mouth was flushed of the fish, their bodies making light thumping noises as they tumbled onto the earth. Her gaze was brought back to Novella, "Gives us time to eat, if they aren't back by the time we're done with our meal I'll call for them." Her white rump would sink to the ground as she become more relaxed after their journey.

Ebony paws beat on the ground pup as the raced back towards the den. As much as she had enjoyed herself, she was always eager to return to her home. The hunt had been good, Canta had stayed back watching as they others participated in the hunt, it had only been at the urging of her family that she had stepped forwards. Now however she was eager to head on back, at her father?s permission she had raced back towards the den site. They would be along shortly with their haul.
At the sight of the ivory she-wolves she slowed some, knowing that one of them was her mother. She also assumed that the other was Novella, her aunt, who her mother had been spending a great deal of time with lately. Distinguishing her mother from the pair she rushed towards her, bumping into her side in greeting, and rubbing up against her. Dark green orbs turned to her aunt, a young woman who Canta still didn?t trust wholly, but with her mother right there she was more at ease.

The girl had grown some, the turning of the seasons thickening her coat some and her paws while still large weren?t quite as disproportionate. The girl would remain silent, nodding some in a greeting then turning her attention to the fish at her mother?s paws.

"Gives us time to eat, if they aren't back by the time we're done with our meal I'll call for them." Novella had to admit in some ways she rather liked that idea, though if they had been unsuccessful in a hunt so far, she certainly didn't wish for them to be called back early and miss out on a meal when she and Song were ready to eat their own little catch. She supposed they could always go and collect more fish for the others if that was the case. For now she'd simply have to be patient, though it was something the restless female wasn't always quite so good at.

Settling down ready to begin eating, the pair found themselves with a rather sudden interruption of a dark coloured pup making her way towards them. Although she had only met the young girl once, Novella could recall that this was the timid Canta who had remained close to her mother's side upon their first meeting. Novella beamed happily as Canta joined them, casting a quick glance behind her, hoping to see the rest of the family following. There was no such luck, though one was certainly better than none. "Hello Canta." She greeted cheerily.

It took much less time for her pups to appear than she had expected, though Canta would surely show up much sooner than the other pups. Her thin black frame would bound up to them very much ahead of the rest of the family. Song's grin would widen at the sight of her daughter, she would find her way to Song's side, needing the comfort in her aunt's presence.
With a nuzzle given to Canta she would keep her attention on the she wolf, hopeful that she would answer Novella. She hoped they would get along, they were quite a part in age but still both were quite young. "Where are the others my love?"

The hunting trip had been a success, in Dhiren's mind. Although they hadn't caught much, he had learned a good bit from his daddy and was more confident than he had been before they had left that morning. The time he had spent with all four sisters was definitely rewarding in itself, too. Dhiren wouldn't trade the time he had spent with his family for anything in the world. He knew that he would hold family close to his heart the older he got, and with that in mind, he enjoyed what time he had with every bit of his being.
These thoughts were dancing around in his mind as he made his way back to the den. Familiar trails were made in the grass across Ludicael as he retraced the blades of grass that had been bent down from the earlier romp with Canta and Novel on the way to the hunting scene. Heading home was definitely something that made him happy. It was either that he enjoyed feeling secure in the only home he knew or it was simply that he loved coming home to his mother. Both were good explanations and he stuck to them with pride.
His mother and an unfamiliar white wolf were settled outside the entrance of their den and his eyes widened. Dhiren's pace began to slow as he sniffed the air and caught the strange scent of the other female. He had never seen his mother with anyone other than Silent, his adopted grandmother, so of course he would be wary. Cautiously, Dhiren walked towards his mother, nuzzling Canta with his nose before lovingly licking and nuzzling Song's face. "Mama, we're baaaack," he said in a sing-song voice, a smile breaking across his own muzzle. "It was fun," he stated, tail beginning to wag behind him. His bi-colored gaze then turned to the stranger that was comfortably resting beside Song. Dhiren's smile faltered a little, but he looked back to his mama and quietly whispered, "Mama...who is that?"

Her aunt greeted her, Canta lifted her gaze from the prey and moved it towards Novella, she quickly glanced down but not before muttering a shy greeting. "Hello?" Then she swung her attention to her mother. "They?re comin? mommy." That was when she spotted another figure bounding towards them. It would be her brother; her tail wagged some at his approach. A small smile gracing her shadowy features. He approached them, nuzzling her before moving onto their mother. She scanned the horizon looking for her father, and the others before sliding in closer to her brother, just close enough to hear his whispered question.
"Tha?s Auntie Novella." She whispered back, a little smugly. She was proud that she knew something her brother did not.

Novella's initial impression of Canta had been that she was quite timid, at least with strangers anyway. There had been far more wolves on their first meeting and not exactly the friendliest of environments either for an impromptu family meeting and to be honest probably would have made even a bolder pup a little wary, to see your mother so upset couldn't be a nice experience, Novella herself certainly hadn't liked seeing Song like that. It seemed however that the impression may have indeed been a correct one, for once again Canta had found herself at her mother's side, a small hello sounding in greeting before answering Song's question.

As if on Canta's cue, the next of Song's pups would soon arrive. It wasn't one that Novella could name though of course she had only met Novel and Canta. A male this time she noted, and he approached in a bold manner to begin with, cheerily announcing his arrival to his mother. At first she thought perhaps he was a little more outgoing than his sister, however upon noticing her he soon grew shy, voice falling to a whisper.

She planned upon introducing herself, giving a small friendly smile to the boy to begin with however before she could speak she heard Canta whispering again. Auntie Novella. It sounded a little strange really, though certainly not in an unpleasant way, especially as it was Canta that had introduced her as such. Whilst it was indeed true, it was still nice to hear considering this was only the second occasion she was meeting the pup. "Hello" She greeted Dhiren. "What's your name then?"

Her fluffy white paws would follow after Dhiren, but since he was getting to be taller than she it was harder for her to keep up with her slightly older brother. He would speed ahead of her in any case and she would just keep running behind him. She would get back to mother eventually. At least she was running faster than Daddy, Fal, and Kota. Bounding her way back home she would happily skip down the path. As she neared the den though it became clear that they had a visitor. She had a suspicion that it was her aunt Novella. Of course she was correct, and for only seeing the she wolf once she thought herself pretty good. She would speed her descent as an excited howl would leave her lips as she made a bee line straight for the she wolf who called her mother sister. She was quite excited about seeing the older she wolf as she quite liked her. Maybe it was that they almost shared names, Aunt Nov'! She would squeal as she came tumbling down to the she wolf's feet.

The hunt had been successful. The children had had fun watching him teach them how to catch the little rabbits, even though they had been dead. The lesson hadn't lasted very long, since of course the children got distracted and began romping around together. Cherokee hadn't minded ending the lesson a bit early. They had had enough lessons for the day anyway. Bringing back the rabbits that he'd managed to catch, the ebony man encouraged his children to run home to the den and tell their mother, who he could only assume was with her newly arrived siblings. The knight had heard of the arrival of his wife's kin, but he hadn't had a chance to meet them yet. Today would be a different story it seemed.

Most of the children had made it back to the den, only Lakota and Fal'Dara being the ones to lag behind. He wasn't worried about his two girls, they weren't too far behind him. Ivory decorated plume would raise up behind him in a friendly wag as he approached the den, bi-colored eyes settling on Song's figure and the ivory girl beside her, whom he assumed to be her sister. The rabbit carcasses would be dropped alongside the fish that they had caught as he nuzzled his wife gently before turning towards her sister. You must be Song's sister. Heard alot about you. I'm Cherokee, Song's husband if you didn't already know. He chuckled good naturely, a smile curving his ebony lips.

Hunting with her poppa had been fun. He had caught those fluffy things that he'd explained were called rabbits and had shown her and her siblings how to properly catch them. Lakota had done well in mimicking her father, but she soon became distracted as her siblings began rough housing. Hunting the rabbits had been cool and all, but she had more fun playing with her sisters and brother. Not long after poppa had told them to head back to their den and she had been more than compliant, though her much larger father had gotten there first, the growing pup was good at keeping up and made it there not long after her dad had.

The sight of another wolf who looked just like her momma brought curiosity out from the tyke as she ran up to her mother, tail wagging excitedly behind her. Momma, who's the pretty lady beside you? She looks just like you. The babe would turn towards the white woman, a smile gracing her ivory lips.

Song would wag her tail excitedly as her family started to file in, quickly after Canta, Dhiren would happily trot up to them. It was certainly not like him to be shy, "Mama...who is that?" she would nuzzle him and encourage him. Before her words left her jaws her darkly colored daughter would intervene with her own rhetoric. "Tha?s Auntie Novella." She was surprised at the role reversal of her children's levels of bravery. She would continue to smile and back up the she wolf's words. "That's mommy's sister." Novella would greet Dhiren, having never met him before herself. The ivory dove found a gentle joy blossoming within her at the introduction of her sister. Novel would then make her appearance, tripping over her own feet. She would let an amused giggle fall from her lips as she watched the clumsy girl. Her chuckle would turn into a relieved grin as Cherokee made his way into her line of sight.
Her face visibly brightened as her husband walked up to them. She would disturb her pups slightly as she moved forward to nuzzle the man's dark muzzle. A quiet whine would escape her lips as she failed to hide her pleasure of seeing him. He would turn to Novella after the show of affection "You must be Song's sister. Heard a lot about you. I'm Cherokee, Song's husband if you didn't already know." Lakota would file in behind her father, her other cream colored daughter gingerly asking of her aunt, Momma, who's the pretty lady beside you? She looks just like you. Song would giggle gently as she nuzzled the pretty pup. "I think she looks more like you, pretty Lakota." a hushed giggle would escape her lips as she let Novella introduce herself to Cherokee, her attention brought to the missing pup of the group. Where was Fal? Her eyes would drift towards the direction the rest of her family had come.

Dhiren showed a tiny bit of annoyance at Canta's answer. He figured she only knew before he did because she had chosen to get there before him and had met her first. His little ears swept in her direction, but the annoyance disappeared from his soul and he wagged his tail when he turned his gaze to his black twin. "Auntie Novella, huh?" He said, tongue playing with the name in his mouth as he spoke. "Pretty name!"
When Novella then turned her attention to him, he looked up at her to meet her gaze. In the face, she looked like Song and he was pleased to know that his mama's siblings would have similar features. "My name is Dhiren, Dhiren Destruction," he promptly said. His chest puffed out, showing the pride he showed from being Song and Cherokee's one and only son. "It's nice to meet you, Aunt Novella...where did you come from?" He asked, bi-colored eyes of silver and gold blinking with curiosity gleaming in his gaze.
