] Now this howl that called out for him he knew well. His head rose from the rabbit he had been snacking on, salmon tongue licking at the blood that tainted his jaws. How lucky was he to have two family diplomats call him to the edges of his land? And only in the span of a few days! Bass stood up slowly, stretching out his limbs and kicking some dirt over the rabbit. He would be back for that, but for now his Aunt was waiting for him. He picked up an easy trot, making his way from the middle of the plains to the outside. His tail wagged behind him as he saw the orange marked woman, letting out a happy bark. When he reached her Bass stretched his neck out to nuzzle her shoulder, placing a soft kiss there. "Hey Auntie Novella, what brings you to Abaven?" He asked. His tail stood still when he thought about it a little, his face drawing in concern. "Nothing bad has happened, has it?" He asked with a slightly shaky tone. After everything that happened with the storm, he was nervous that something major had happened to Threar and some of its members. Abaven had shared in the turmoil, losing their home for awhile as well as a member. Bass swallowed hard, waiting for her answer. speech |

A large breath puffed out of his lungs when she shook her head, letting him know that they got off a lot easier than they had. "That's good to hear Aunty. Unfortunately... we did not get off quite so easily." He let out a soft sigh, head hanging somewhat. "Chrono fell into the rapids, they had risen so much with all the storms. We were just out on our way to evacuate, and he fell. I tried to save him, but I had been too late. One of the pups nearly slipped away but Motif saved his life. We had to hide in the Singing Caverns until the storms wore off, I even had to dig a ditch so that we would not get trapped inside the caves. Food had been hard to come by, but we made it." He paused, looking back up and shrugging his creamy shoulders. "When we came back home, Abaven looked like a hell hole. We are still working on cleaning it up, but I doubt that it will look like home again for quite some time." Bass let out another sigh, falling back on to his rump. "I wish I had some good news to tell you, but only more bad news. Harmony has seemed to have lost herself, she vanished from Abaven and I have not been able to track her down. Even Quintus doesn't know what is wrong with her, and he seems to be the closest one to her besides her family."
The boy shook his head, his shoulders heavily sagging. "The one thing that I could tell you in good is that I have taken a wife. Wren is the love of my life -- but she too has gone missing. A few days before she too vanished, her scent had been all... wrong. I think she is very sick, and I go out looking for her every day. Still no sign of her though, and I don't know how much longer I can take this. I am very thankful for my pack though, they support me even when I am feeling at my lowest." His eyes searched Novella, wondering, praying, that she had some advice for him. Bass felt so lost, it was a hard enough season to deal with without this whole mess of emotions. They needed to start preparing for winter, but there were other things that clouded his mind.

His aunts words were soft, and he nodded. His siblings did have a habit of being wanderers, heck he couldn't even get Chord to settle down with them. He smiled softly, standing up and stepped forward to wrap his neck around Novella's. "Thank you, your words really do mean a lot. Wren and I used to be seperated by pack lines, as you know. I know that we can get over this, and I have faith that she will return to me. But my heart longs for her, its so hard to be apart." He said softly, stepping back to allow some room between the two of them. Family meant everything to him, and he was glad that he had two packs that was lead by family so close to him. He was blessed in that factor, and wouldn't want it any other way. "I'll be sure to visit more, I owe both Sawtooth and Threar some more visits. I have been lacking in that aspect." He said with a soft chuckle, trying to lighten the mood. "With dealing with all of this, I just kinda shut off. It would have been a lot better for me if I just got off my butt and came for a visit. Besides, its not like its very far away."
Bass smile grew, glad that they were able to get over the more rough emotions. He had been meaning to come and talk to his grandparents, and to see all this family. "I was actually going to ask, if when Wren returns that we could host a ceremony of sorts? The one for you and Firth was beautiful, and I would love it if everyone was here for it."

It seemed that all was well now between the two of them, and he was very glad that she had come here today. From good news to bad news, it was staying in touch none-the-less. She spoke of visiting her children one of these days and he eagerly nodded his head. "I hope they haven't buried your husband." He teased softly, pushing forward to nuzzle her cheek again. "I will be sure to visit though, Motif has been bugging me to pay everyone some visits. I think she gets bored being stuck in one place for too long, she always was an adventurer." It seemed like much of their family was, noted in how wide spread some of them where. It would seem that Bass had family in every corner of the world, and he liked that. He knew that no matter where he went, that there would always be family there for him. "Would you like me to walk you out? Its not that far, and I bet you would like some company." He offered. The boy had found that after being an alpha, being alone was something much different than it had been before. But then again, she probably liked the calm, peaceful silence after having to deal with little ones. He didn't have much experience, but he had enough to know all about it.
That reminded him about the training he had done with Darrah, and the meeting that he had had with his aunts. Perking up, he paused for a moment. "About that training, feel free to call it at any time. I could use something to keep my mind off of all of this, keeping busy seems to help a lot." It would be a large distraction, that was for sure. Plus, with everything that had happened he was behind in his own training, there wasn't nearly enough gatherings. He had set a pretty strict pattern when he made the pack, but it had all started to slip. He wanted to bring Abaven back onto his paws, and perhaps a large group training would be the best for him.
