She had barely crossed the invisible border between Fern Gulley and the territory that surrounded the whispering caves. Akemi wasn?t going far, just far enough to continue exploring the land she now called home. Freyr had disappeared, and for what reason she didn?t know. It hurt the young femme to know her brother did not stand with her right now, especially as new life stirred within her belly. Her scent of heat was gone, her sides slowly growing out in pudge. The weight was strange to the girl, who had hardly ever been able to put any on. But when children were growing inside of you it was natural to gain weight.

A soft sigh would leave Akemi?s sigh. Her heart was a torn thing, even more than her body now. When Freyr swore to protect her... And then left again... It ate her up inside. She had counted on him... And now... Her mind was whirling. That massive male had haunted her darkest nightmares, stalking her form. Something had to be done... But how? When? He knew that she carried his whelps. How she longed for the companionship of a sibling right now, to know that she was not alone in this, and that she would be safe when the time came to deliver the children. She had mixed feelings about those yet unborn;; but she had decided to try and keep them.

Moving at an easy lope, Skadi glided over the terra with purposeful steps. She was on the hunt, following the wispy scent trail of her prey. The scent was weak and old, nearly nonexistent in places, but the fae was hellbent on following it to its source. She craved the presence on the other end of it, coveted the blood the flowed through the creature's veins. The young warrior would have her quarry if it was last thing she did.

There. The scent trail strengthened, growing thick as she neared the border of a pack. Dark chocolate ears would perk forward, glacier blue eyes going wide as her whole being lit up with excitement. Before her, some distance away, stood her quarry. Akemi. The smaller wolf was greatly changed since the last time Skadi had laid eyes on her, but there was doubt in her mind that the scarred fae was her sister.

The huntress' demeanor shifted, features softening as she moved towards to other. A critical eye would scrutinize Akemi, appraising her, weighing out her physical being in an attempt to add or subtract to her worth as she was remembered. Though her inner workings were calculating, her countenance was nothing short of loving. Her tone sugar sweet, she announced her presence to the other with a soft, "Akemi."

The small female was hardly aware of the other?s presence until the soft words, so sweet, would leave the mouth of the other. The voice, while it would have normally been one she?d accept, she?d welcome, given the circumstances and the edge she found herself on Akemi would spin towards the owner of it with a snarl. At least until she registered who it was she was actually looking at. Single orb would soften as she looked at her sister, one she had not seen in so long. Silently, perhaps more subconsciously, Akemi would send a silent thank you to the heavens. She wasn?t so certain of gods... But perhaps someone was listening.

The femme would close the distance between them, giving a bit of a small smile. ?Skadi... You found your own way.? Not that she had any doubt of that. Her sister was big and strong, always had been. Skadi would be able to make her own life with little trouble... So Akemi hadn?t worried for her. Missed her, yes, but never worried. Skadi could hold her own.

?How have you been?? The pregnant girl still seemed a bit tense, but more relaxed now that she saw the other wolf was her littermate. How different she must have looked... But Akemi was no long so ashamed of her appearance. Earless. Tailless. Down an eye... Yet... Akemi was that small fireball and likely always would be. The flame might flicker, threaten to go out, but in the end it would build back up into a roaring flame. Akemi was a Hroovy... And she?d be damned if she let anyone truly put her flame out. No... She would overcome. Come out stronger. That was all she knew.

And aggressive show was the response she got to her sugared utterance. Her browspots lifted, but little more was given as a reaction. She didn't fear this creature. Instead her mind began to whirl, gears spinning as she broke apart Akemi's reaction. Her eyes took in the wounds, the missing pieces of her sister's person. Ah, so it appeared her sister wasn't so changed after all. Her spitfire nature had clearly been the source of many a battle. And there she was, alive and well. Pride warmed the fae's heart.

"How have you been?" Ah, so much had happened since they'd last been together. There would be time for a summery later. There were far more important topics to choose from at the moment. "I'm well," she said dismissively, "But that is a subject that can wait." Her expression amused, Skadi leveled a stare at her sister. "You couldn't possibly have hoped to hide my future nieces and nephews from me."

And I Know That I

I Sometimes Tend To Lose My Temper

And I Cross The Line
For Akemi there was no escaping the dreaded topic. Skadi would answer her question quickly enough, though in a dismissive way. The small girl would tense, lowering her gaze as her single orb narrowed. "Hope to hide them no... but they were not at all planned, Skadi." The girl gritted her teeth for a long moment before lifting her gaze to meet her littermate's. So many mixed feelings were in her heart... but... Skadi needed to know. She was not part of a pack... perhaps... she could help Akemi find some of their other siblings before she was too rounded to get around.

"The male who fathered this pups is a low down bastard. Massive... he overpowered me." What remained of her ears would give a small shift, as if she was laying her ears flat. "...and it is not just me he attacked. He got Freyr as well." Akemi would lift her head some. "I... am not one to ask for help with many things, you know this. However... this male is not an opponent I could ever hope to take on alone. He is larger than you, Skadi..." Akemi would trail off. "Will you assist me in spreading the word? This is a matter of our family... I will not trouble Secretua with this business." Though Akemi was trying to keep her voice level, keep her bravery, there was a hint at her fear in both eye and voice when she spoke of this man. She knew she would not be able to completely rest easy until he was slain.

Her expression froze, the upward twist of her features remaining but the amusement behind it draining away. Skadi's whole being stilled, every inch of her suddenly devoted to listening. "Oh?" she chirped, the lilting tone sounding hollow to even her own ears. For many moments Akemi was silent; a silence that had Skadi's teeth clenching and the desire to rip forward and shake the words out of her barely contained. When at last the words came they came in a flood.

The tale ended and the giantess eased back on her haunches, abandoning the tensed forward position she'd adopted while her sister was speaking. Her face devoid of expression, Skadi froze once more.

After several seconds of silence, the fae stirred. She abandoned all pretenses; this was no longer a game. "Tell me everything about him." She would have this brute.

The news she gave her sister was met with a few seconds of silence, Skadi?s face lacking to show what the female was thinking. But after that everything was cast aside, words of seriousness now being spoken. There was no doubt by those words; her sister was going to seek this male, and if her other siblings heard tale, well, there might just end up being a mob searching for the bastard by the time her children were old enough to meet their aunts and uncles. Single remaining orb would lift to her sister?s own. For a while she had not wanted to tell the others of him... She had, in honesty, been afraid. She had been hurt and bested in a way that was a major blow to her ego. But no wolf was invincible, and no wolf could take care of every problem alone. If there was anyone Akemi felt she could count on for this task... It was her siblings... Her littermates especially, or Hati, had he been here. As much as she loved Freyr... He was not experienced enough to have handled this man alone... If they had met further from the borders... Would her brother have been slain?

Brow would furrow as she began to speak, carefully speaking the details of the man. ?He is tall, a bit more-so than you, though his weight seems lacking for his size. White is the primary color of his coat, a mask of ebony is upon his face. Ebony also drops across his shoulders down his front legs alone, flecks of brown upon the top of his back. His tail too is marked in ebony and flecked. His paws and ears are tipped in shades of brown... And he has a single light purple eye, on his left. He didn?t leave me completely unscathed.? The last part was added with a bit of a growl. She had taken his eye, perhaps the thing that truly provoked him into making her his target.

?Skadi...? She would look into the lands of Secretua for a moment. ?Chances are... If you need to seek me I will be here in this pack. Regardless of what you do from here on, I would... I would like to ask you to come visit. Broken and fucked up as our family is... I still long to see you all.? The girl would look back to her littermate, giving a soft smile. As much as she had liked her solitude as a child, she was also the clingy sort. There was more to the small fae than seen on the surface, that was for certain. Perhaps her moments showing love, showing desire to see her kin again and wishing them well could be seen as weakness. But Akemi didn?t care. What was the point of strength, of proving yourself, if there was no one to share that glory with?

The description of the rapist was forever seared into her mind. Each detail knit together to paint a picture that sent her stomach roiling. How she loathed the unworthy creature who'd forced bastard children upon her sister. No longer considered her nieces and nephews, whatever spawn she whelped were ruined and unworthy of their maternal heritage. They were tainted, the product of the father. Bastards in every sense of the word. Skadi would waste no more time on speaking of them; surely Akemi had already begun to plot their disposal.

Ghosting forward, Skadi attempted to place a kiss upon her sister's brow. "I will be back," she murmured, the promise of their reunion more than just talk. She would be back. And she would bring him with her. It would be a kindness to bury both the sire and his bastards in the same hole; less work with fewer graves to dig.

Stepping back, Skadi regarded her sister once more, committing her changed features to memory. "Don't you worry, Akemi," she crooned, "I will fix everything."
