Where oh where had his family gone? It was pointless to be so very loyal when he couldn't even keep track of the lupine that he claimed as his own. They had slipped away so long ago, but it seemed that all trails led back to this wretched land. Oh he was so very tired of the humid, lively territories that littered the eastern lands - yet it was what it was - he was here.

Too bad for the territory really, he wasn't in the best of moods.

Blood lust tainted his frustration, and the carnal urge to hunt nearly overtook him completely. It seemed that it was time for him to find prey - it was a shame really, that he was stuck in this godforsaken thicket. The rustling of birds could be heard consistently overhead. There was the scent of rodents that grew in the tall grasses, most small, others large enough to make a decent lunch. His nose to the ground, he closed his eyes, taking in the various scents, before huffing.

Small fries, not worth his time.

Although what might be worth his time was a little bit of company. The male lifted his head, tilting it just slightly as a tiny grin caught the side of his dark lips. The company of a young lady - this might just turn out interesting if nothing else. It had been a while since he had company to consider.

Liberty
I'm sitting pretty on the throne,
there's nothing more I want,
except to be alone

Wandering. She did it so much lately it was practically her life style. She stopped and rested for only a few hours at a time, then she would be on her feet again, going aimlessly from place to place. It was if her meaning had left her, because since her mothers death she had felt no reason to return to Valhalla. Her mother's big dreams seemed to have died with her, because the yearling princess felt no need to take her mothers place at the moment. It was too soon.

Somehow she had ended up here, lost within a sea of tall grasses that seemed to never end. She could hear the songs of birds and chatter of rats all around her, but she still hadn't actually seen anything. This place made her feel a bit weary, but she enjoyed the taste of danger. Who knew what may be lurking around every corner? It could be a doe, rabbit, snake, or mouse; but she hadn't expected it to be a darker male prowling within the brush. Through the thicket his ebony pelt stuck out against the sea of green, and his crimson eyes burned like embers through the brush. He was a pretty site to see.

"Speech."
