The events of the past few hours had been more stressful than Freyja cared to witness. So many unfamiliar faces, so much tension and whining, well... She had kept her distance. The golden woman had remained on the fringes, observing as she contemplated the choice before her and half expecting a rebellion of sorts. She wanted to be close for that at the very least. After the loudmouth broad had broken in on her loudmouth family, demanding the freedom of her loudmouth pups (Gods, did any of them ever shut up?) Freyja had decided it was a veritable certainty. But so far, Katja seemed to be able to keep the peace. As she paced along the border, Freyja wondered if this was happenstance or early signs of good leadership. To subdue a group of unwilling captives was one thing, but to hold their compliance for a time was quite another. It was food for thought, anyways. So far... she had liked what she'd seen. Perhaps it was time to dedicate herself to something other than roaming about with no destination in mind.

Freyja was no official member of the pack, and had merely stayed local to support her... acquaintance. She would not encroach upon her unduly. Certainly she had enough to deal with at the moment, and she was in no great hurry. She lingered, waiting to catch an eye, learn something new about what was happening farther in. She did not mind who might come to meet her, if in fact anyone at all did. She locked her gaze on the horizon, waiting for some sign of motion. She'd seen all sorts coming and going, but as to their intentions or even their identities she couldn't say. Was she spying? Well, Freyja had never been one to split hairs. She was merely curious, and far be it from her norm to make an important choice without informing herself first.

With the chaos of the challenge behind him, Laufey felt exhausted...and all he had done was watch! The turmoil had swirled around him like a storm; had he not had so little at stake he would have surely been blown away by it all. Still, his near future had been altered by it. Daegmar had volunteered him for that new alpha's pack. At first he had been wholly against being pressed into service and had it not been for the arrival of that angry fae, Laufey might have simply refused the offer (okay, so it wasn't really an offer, who was he trying to kid?) to preserve his integrity. Hours had passed since his initial negative reaction and he'd had time to think about it. Both Daegmar and Yfir's alpha were capable warriors. They each had a purpose plus a drive to get what they wanted and the means to do so--qualities at the boy desperately wanted. Training under them would certainly have its merits. In the end that's what he decided was best for him, and so with a brighter attitude, he set out for the freshly minted pack.

A familiar form came into view and the young titan paused to rest hungry eyes on her. He didn't know her name, or anything about her, really, but from what he had surmised from her words at the battlefield she wasn't one to be messed with. Feeling certain of this, he removed his intrusive gaze from her person and settled it somewhere where it was less likely to create harm to his own person.

Coming from her right side, the boy adopted a neutral stance hoping she would recognize that he wasn't one of those Olympians with a score to settle and allow him to approach her. "Thinking of joining?" An easy opener for sure. Regardless of her answer, he was certain he could get a conversation out of it, although what he really wanted was to know more about her.

"Laufey has an excellent question."

Yfir's bright-coated stalker had been intriguing her for some time - first the quick spar when they'd first met, then showing up at the challenge to... what? Support her? Be entertained? And now to find her here watching Yfir's borders like a golden eagle. It was interesting, that was certain. Daegmar's young friend was with her as well, and the spark of suspicion that oddity kindled had drawn her in just in time to hear him speak, and for her to add her own words as she stepped within view.

Gold-flecked silver eyes watched the pair steadily - wary but not fearful, her gaze locked on Freyja's.

"Is there something the two of you need?"

The appearance of another was a sudden affair, the young male seeming to walk forth from thin air. Freyja couldn't help but wonder how long he'd spent approaching, and cursed herself for not being more vigilant. Her bright eyes took him in for the span of a breath, weighing her first impression before he began to speak. He was large, never mind that he seemed young. His coloring was impressive, if less saturated than her own. She opened her maw to speak but was interrupted by the approach of another. It would seem her vigil had been observed after all, and by parties more important than one youngling. Freyja dipped her head to Katja before inclining her chin, a show of stubborn pride. Groveling was not the sort of thing she took to easily. So Laufey was the name of her other companion? Clearly the two were acquainted already, which left the golden femme feeling a bit left out. "I might be," she would admit in response to Katja's query. "I had thought to observe the going ons for a time, but it seems the party has come to me... You fought very well," she allowed after a short pause. To say the darker woman had earned her respect might have been an understatement. She had displayed mettle rarely seen, particularly in the jelly-spined wolves Freyja had come to know thus far. The idea of honing her body, of learning from someone who handled themselves in the way Katja did... It seemed a worthy enough endeavor. "I'll admit the idea of joining interests me, should there be room enough for one more." Just feeding those brats would likely be quite the task, especially with the restrictions typically placed upon hostages. If Katja needed assistance Freyja would be happy to lend a hand, so long as it wasn't a waste of her time in the long run.

His name on a unknown's lips pulled the boy's gaze away from the pretty stranger. It took Laufey a moment to remember how exactly she knew his name, and so for a heartbeat he was unduly impressed and perhaps a little fearful. He dipped his head in greeting, but offered nothing further since he was unsure of her name. Her title would have worked just fine, but it didn't occur to him until the moment had passed and the pretty stranger began to reply. She answered his question, although understandably her gaze rested on the new alpha. Still, he couldn't help but be a bit disappointed that her attention was elsewhere.

"...should there be room enough for one more." The idea of training under Daegmar and this capable masked fae interested him, and so with that in mind he chimed in, "Is there room for two?" He fixed earnest eyes on Yfir's alpha. "I'd very much like to continue training under Daegmar and doing so in this pack would be a privilege." He wasn't sure how to present himself. The pretty fae hadn't exactly tried to buy her way into the pack with words describing her worth and so he felt a little odd about trying that for himself. Perhaps Daegmar's interest in him was enough for the moment. She was a capable warrior; her interest in training him had to be worth something, right?

Mercury gaze jumped to Laufey on his nod to her, and she returned his silent greeting in kind before turning her attention to the gold woman. The woman's nod and subsequent rebellious tilt of her chin raised not a twitch from the alpha. She simply inclined her muzzle to the woman in acknowledgement, remaining quiescent for the moment as Freyja spoke. The woman spoke of interest in joining the pack, and young Laufey piped up with his own interest, stating his eagerness to continue to train under Daegmar, and Katja's head tilted slightly to study them both. "Trained warriors are more than welcome among our numbers, and you, Freyja, have impressed me upon our previous meetings, as does your caution in watching before approaching though I hope you are willing to set that aside for the family that is your pack. You would be greatly welcomed within our ranks as a warrior if that is your wish."

Her gaze shifted to Laufey - she had not forgotten him, though it may have seemed like it. "Laufey... your eagerness to learn will serve you well in Yfir. Your wisdom in waiting to join, to give thought to it before you leaped in, does you justice. I would be pleased to have you counted among the dreng, the young warriors of Yfir."

Once more she took them both in, calmly awaiting their answers.

To hear Katja speak so highly of her after only one encounter was a bracing boost to her pride. Freyja allowed her chin to lift a bit higher, allowed her chest to extend the smallest bit. Damn her, that her words could be so effective. What, was Katja some goddess to be swooning after? Her praise ought to mean nothing to Freyja, but with a nod and a small smile, Katja was no longer some random broad. The dark raven was her leader. "I will serve Yfir well," she swore. "I am at your command, Lady Katja... Unless there is some other title you prefer?" Something shifted, small and nigh imperceptible, but a bit of the woman's vain arrogance fell away, washed out by a desire to do well by her oath. She turned, pleased to see that the young male wished to join as well. He seemed strong, capable. In need of molding perhaps, but he mentioned the name of another fae Freyja had seen at the battle, one bearing a dangerous and practiced aura. He was in very good hands, if that woman was his mentor. Katja would speak highly towards him as well and the golden goddess spared the youngling a small grin, noting that she ought to investigate not only this Laufey but the others as well. It would not do to live amongst a clan you knew nothing about. Freyja swept her gaze over him one last time and thought that he had the makings of a fine young warrior indeed. Her gaze drifted over his shoulder, inwards, wondering what her first task would be. She couldn't imagine immediate compliance from the prisoners, and felt it more than likely she would end up on babysitting duty. So be it, if that was Katja's wish. Another day, another chapter, she thought to herself with a small smile. All steps in the same journey, and now I've been brought to Yfir. A home, if she would have it, and the tawny femme felt that it would suit her well enough for now.
