Crawling - Linkin Park

BIC:: Slow steps guided the tall wolf as he moved low through the plant life. He was stalking again, exploring this new world of his. It was mid day over head, but the plant life here provided ample shade. This was thick vegetation. What he'd grown up in. This was what he knew. If was nice to see such things after his time in the West. But he'd been sitting stagnant. He needed to move. To Explore. The Folami wanted to experience what Alacritis had to offer. To know and learn what it had to teach him. Because as it sat right now he was nothing. He was no one. He was purposeless and pointless. Nothing more than a fume created by the world.

Obito was a blank slate who bore a proud name. There was much that he had to prove as he moved his way through the thick plant life, guided by his nose and ears more so than his eyes. Fully alert, each step cautious. He was born of the highest caliber. And it was his curse just as much as his blessing. Obito Folami. Folami was an ancient word that meant 'I Command Respect'. At at current, he did not. He had to earn that name. He had to earn that title. He was young still, so there was much time left to do so. But he was of age to start looking. Like the Mlezi, he was a creature of impulse and instinct more than thought. His face neutral, his eyes wide and alert. Ears on end, tail calm behind him, controlling his breathing as he stalked like a shadow through the plant life.

His sister had taken too much to his mother's side. She'd been told different bedtime stories. About a god with a weird name. They had been very different, the two of them. His sister was sophisticated. Social. He was a tribal animal. More in tune to emotion, more bendable to change. More adaptable. All he had though where the lessons he'd already been taught. He wanted more. Coming to a clearing in the thick plant life, he so a puddle before him, allowed only to exist by a break in the trees. Coming to a rest, he lowered himself to his rump, settling himself upright, tail coming around to rest atop his paws. He closed his eyes and lowered his snout, ears standing to listen to the world around him. Could he hear them here? The ghosts that whispered of the war and blood the land had once seen? What pointless blood shed had this corner world witnessed? He was well attuned to the spirit world. It could be traced back along his ancestry. They where a tribal bunch, the Folami. The beginning of their very existence plagued with the blood shed. He himself admittedly have a love for blood. To feel it roll down his maw, warm and sweet. He'd been born with blue eyes, as most pups where. But he'd been told a story once about the first time he'd bitten into the red meat. They said that his eyes had turned to their current color over night. What purpose could such an animal have here?

Obito didn't know what he was supposed to be. But he knew something angry festered underneath. A yearning to consume flesh. An unnatural pleasure in it. He was not evil. But there was a taint of it on him. He was a hunter, in it's truest form. Everything he was stronger than was prey to this strange yearning. Even his own kind a viable meal. He'd never indulged the practice. But he wasn't against it in his heart. What use? What use did Alacritis have for such a creature? He was no longer exploring the terrain, but now the confines of his own mind. What lessons, on Ghosts? What dark history does this land hold that would warrant a creation such as I? He asked himself. How was he to earn his name? His soul was pure, he was not evil. At least, he didn't want to be seen that way. So why? Why the craving for blood?

Understand would have to be obtained for all the riddles in the dark to make sense.

It really was to the misfortune of his parents that Ren wasn't the least bit wary of strangers yet. Curious, sociable, and innocent, the young boy could not believe in a world where there were bad wolves. He had never met anyone that way - in his mind, everyone was like Glacier, the gentle man who fed him rabbit entrails. So, when he scented this male after wandering away from the den, he immediately set out, bouncing through the underbrush to peer at the man. The man was huge, though not anywhere near as huge as Glacier. And why would he be afraid of anyone shorter than Glacier? He wanted to be as tall as the man. He was hid under the growth, regardless, curious but also wanting to startle the man, perhaps. So he watched silently.

Crawling - Linkin Park

BIC:: With him sitting in total silence, so very focused as he was, his sense on high alert he was not so easily snuck up on. Obito was a Hunter, after all. Listening to the world around him was something the was very good at. But so focused was he on his thoughts, that he allowed a calm reaction to flow through him. Taking in a very deep breath into his lungs, he exhaled slowly. As he did his eyes opened and his snout slowly rose from where it had been aimed down. The ghosts would remain silent for right now. The trees would not whisper to him of the horrors they had seen. For right now, there was no lesson to be learned. So the creature would pull himself free of his meditation. The great thoughts would be his to ponder later. As he came back to the waking world, his face would settle into a very calm, neutral expression.

Turning his gaze to the general area of where the pup was hiding, he saw nothing but the low hanging vegetation. Lifting his tail from his paws, he took one step toward him, raising his body from the ground as he turned. Another easy step forward, all of his movements very calm, very slow and subtle as not to cause any kind of alarm. He could tell the scent was another wolf. Lowering his head, he would look under the brush from a distance, seeing the outline of the pup hiding there. A youngling. A very small, calm smile would spread his maw as his amethyst eyes shined bright with soul. His voice would fall softly upon the boy's ears. "Wakati amani, mtoto. Mimi haitakuumiza." At peace, child. I will not harm you.

He knew he had to be very careful about his actions. He wished no ill will for this creature. But mothers only knew how to protect their children. And his might not be very far from here. Obito wanted not to upset anyone. So he would remain subtle.

Eep! Ren flattened his body, bright blue eyes peering up between the vegetation. He could barely see the wolf, not at all, really, but he had been looking in Ren's direction before Ren ducked down. And, oh! There were pawsteps, and he'd wriggle down further, not realizing this caused the grass to tremble as if there was a scared mouse. It was no use, though, and he heard a voice, the voice of the wolf. Pouting, the boy would wiggle back and sit up, ruffled fur going this way and that. Ears would fall back on the small boy's head and his head would tilt at the much older wolf. He knew he didn't understand a lot of things, but he understood words well enough! Yet, he had no notion as to waht this wolf said.

Linkin Park - In The End (8bit remix)

BIC:: A soft chuckle would escape the brute's maw as the pup sat up. Yes, Obito was a monster. Yes, his insides where stained black. But these where only because of the horrible nature of his existence. Mungu had put souls in his kind's chest a very long time ago. He was no exception to this. He was a benefactor instead. Knowing how to use it from the very start. His touch could be just as soft as it could brutal. From his low crouched position, he would slowly settle himself down to his stomach so as not to be so big or imposing, and he would dip his nose, touching the ground beneath him once in a soft gesture that he meant no harm. His soft smile still in place on his scared lips, he would address the pup once more. "You have nothing to be afraid of here, kidogo moja."

There was a time to wear your hatred and anger like a badge of honor. And there was a time to be kind and gentle. This was the latter of the two. Because for all his love in the call for blood, even a monster such as Obito craved a world that creatures such as he where unfit for. A silly, useless, pointless dream. But wasn't that the point of dreaming? To glimpse the impossible. Among his fondest of dreams where of him sitting atop a cliff, watching the world crumble away around him, leaving nothing but a vast, warm, and bright sunrise over a far and distant hill. An image he was sure very few would every have to ability to understand. The Malkia, perhaps. Maybe she'd even be able to capture it for a brief moment. And if she was willing to earn his approval, he'd lend her his paw however she saw fit to use it. This boy before him, this pup was still innocent. And that's what fascinated him. Life scared all creatures. And despite that unavoidable fact, those with Nafasi in there chests still tried so hard to protect the innocent ones from it.

Again his voice would sound, calm and still. "You are alone. Where are the ones who claim you, kidogo moja?" A fair enough question. He felt safe in his demeanor and positioning that if mother was to suddenly appear he would not seem a threat threat to her.
