SERAPHIM IMPERIALISTo put it mildly, Seraphim missed his family. Friendly as he was, he was still an introvert at heart but those who shared his blood seemed immune to that facet of his disposition. Although his paws itched to venture farther and farther, of late he'd been lingering closer to home. Valen had sired new litters but in a great personal failing Phim had yet to meet the newcomers, and he figured by this point they had to be old enough to go on adventures, right? Well, that was exactly the situation he intended to create! He'd been wandering his father's lands a bit aimlessly, looking first for Vana or Angel but after a few failed attempts he was really trying to track down anyone at all in his family. Why were they always so scarce when he needed them most! He dismissed his frustration at once, telling himself instead that it was a good opportunity to think of what he was going to do with them. He looked over the vast fields, down into a basin to where a herd of wild horses grazed. The little ones were probably too small for a hunt, right? He ruminated over that for a moment, because in his mind Imperialis kids were capable of anything but Cascade was scary when she was mad... She'd wait to confer with Angel before deciding if that was worth the risk. He sat down, entranced by the animals below, thoroughly and all at once distracted. "Talk" "You" Think

He'd actually convinced Vana to take him exploring today! It was a rare treat to not have to go through the effort of losing her before he was able to go on an adventure, though it was generally a trade-off as far as how much he was able to get away with doing. Vana was kind of a wet blanket sometimes with her Princess Snooty Snout attitude, but it was still better than being stuck around the den until Mama got back. He just had to find something to make the adventure more interesting.

And the universe provided!

The mottled blue-gray figure sitting on the hill had been scarce, but Chaos still recognized him. "Pim!" he crowed, racing up the backside of the hill to attempt to tackle his big brother. "You' gettin' thmaller!" he cackled, for Chaos was finally starting to catch up on his missed out growth and had put on quite the growth spurt himself, making the size gap between the two rather smaller than it had been when they'd met.

Trailing behind her youngest sibling with a certain amount of exasperation, Evangeline sighed grumpily as he cavorted around with wild abandon. He was such a child. Was she ever like this, or was it just a boy thing? Probably a boy thing. Phim and Angel and Ash had all been like this too, though on second thought so was Rhythm's daughter. Ugh! Still a boy thing, she decided snidely, because Rhys wasn't a proper daughter anyway. She was every inch as bad as Chaos was. Even Rhythm's boy acted more like a girl than that Rhys, or so Vana soothed her own ruffled ego by telling herself. Chaos suddenly took off up a hill and Vana was quick to race after him. Oh not this time, you little brat! But he wasn't trying to make a quick escape this time (though he'd learned early on that a straight up race would just get him caught that much quicker, with her much longer legs). He was racing up the hill toward a familiar figure. Seraphim! Much aggrieved by the younger boy's exuberance she nonetheless followed, because she saw much too little of her littermate. "Seraphim," she corrected Chaos tartly. ""

Rhys was hot on the trail of an intruder. Since her encounters with Mercy and Birna the pup had learned to distinguish between pack wolves and non pack wolves, and while the smell of Imperium did linger on the wolf she was following, he didn't smell as strongly as her mommy or daddy did, so she was gonna assume he didn't belong. Which was perfect, really, because she wanted to bite someone other than her brothers. As she rounded the barn Rhys's eyes were immediately drawn to the familiar dark form of Chaos. Her eyes widened as she realized what he was doing. He was stealing her intruder! Not fair, not fair at all! She considered pouting in protest of the unfairness, but then it occurred to her that if she did that she couldn't bite the intruder at all, so she gave up the idea in favor of charging towards the trio. Rhys made a beeline for the intruder's big furry rump, her eyes locked squarely on his tail. She intended to scoop the appendage off the ground and start backing up with it. With Chaos's help they could drag him all the way to daddy! It suddenly occurred to her that Evangeline wasn't helping Chaos take the intruder down. If it were anyone else this might have given her pause, but her big sister wasn't exactly what Rhys would consider helpful. Not once had she ever helped Rhys dig mud holes or look for worms. Still, Rhys was a little hurt for Chaos's sake that Vana was just standing there. It was a good thing Rhys had come along then, or else he'd be taking on the intruder all by himself! Her tone indignant, she yelled at her sister as she charged towards Seraphim, "Help with the intruder, Vana!" ""

The siege was behind him but Angelus was still riding a high. He wanted everyone to know what he had done and he wanted everyone to see the slave he'd taken. If he could, he'd have hauled the woman around with him just to show her off. The yearling made a note to rub it in Evangeline's face next time he saw her. Speak of the devil! Her scent came to him on the breeze and with a proud spring in his step, Angelus set off in her direction. In no time at all he came upon the scene...and it was just in time too because it looked like Rhys was about to take a bite out of Seraphim's butt. "Rhys! What are you doing?" "Talk" "You" Think

SERAPHIM IMPERIALIS Seraphim was at once delighted and amused to see Chaos bolting towards him. The dark young male claimed he was getting smaller, when it looked for all intents and purposed as though he were getting larger! Evangeline trailed him and corrected him on his pronunciation. A broad grin split across the large blue male's features at the sight of his sister, just like it normally did. "Go easy on him, Vana," he chided gently, retaining the fear of aggravating her from their youth. Sure, some wolves might not have taken Chaos very seriously when he spoke like that, but just look at him. Who would wanna piss a wolf with fangs off? As it was, Phim was sufficiently distracted by the siblings in front of him that he didn't notice those that were creeping up behind him. He only got one shrill (and confusing) command from a young girl's voice before needly like teeth sunk into his rump. "OUCH!!" he wailed, flying upwards without a thought, desperate to get away from the source of the pain. Mid flight, he realized that the leap was sending him straight for where Vana stood, and if he could have re-routed himself mid air he would have. She was probably way scarier than whatever it was behind him!! Somewhere in the mix was Angelus too, but the poor boy's mind could only comprehend so much at once, and just then he was squeezing his eyes shut and bracing himself for his untimely demise.
