Slightly Better.

She finally got out of the damn west, where it was ridiculously warm. She was now in the... south, was it, and it was still warm - but at least there was deeper snow. That made the mostly monochrome female quite happy; she had not been pleased in the West. Nw, though, she was tromping through the snow, pleasure in her eyes, even as she spotted the frozen river. "Oh!" Ainia exclaimed, an almost puplike joy overcoming her. This was just like at home, though quite a bit warmer! Paws hit the ice hard, as a test for the strength of it; it was sturdy... and in that moment, the older woman stepped fully onto the ice, legs bent to keep balance.

Fiamette did not enjoy the snow very much. Growing up in the south she was used to warmer climates, and in the winter she used to have the hot springs to retreat to. Now the hot springs were owned by a pack she was not familiar with, and unfortunately she could not indulge in the warm waters. She still loved to travel despite the cold, so she would treck through the snow, her small limbs sinking deeply into the white slush. Her eyes scan her surroundings for life, and a few seconds of time pass before a black figure steps into her view. She halts for a moment, her stare fixed on the creature as it daringly steps onto the frozen river. Curiously she slithers toward the rivers edge. She does not care for this woman's safety, but if she fell and cracked her skull open on the ice at least she would get a good laugh out of it. Silently she watches the woman, waiting for her to notice her presence.

A soft laugh would arise from Ainia as she stepped oh so delicately on the ice. This brought back so many memories of her childhood - including the pup wars that her and the rest of the children would have on the ice. It was to teach balance, balance and how to use the land as an advantage. Enemies of her peoples would not dare step on the ice, but the ice would give her people the advantage. It was an advantage she sought to check she retained even as she twisted her back end end to cause a spin, crouching even lower to the ground. Red would catch her eye, and slowly she would stretch out a limb while leaning the other way, a limb to slow her spin as it dragged on the ice. She'd slow to a stop and stand, shaking her head to clear it a bit, before appraising the woman who was before her. A deep, dark red with black markings, the woman was absolutely stunning.
"Well, hello," the dark woman murmured, appreciation clear in her eyes as she glanced over the woman's form. "What's a beautiful woman like yourself doing out here?" she questioned softly, as she slowly approached the smaller form.

To her surprise the woman glides gracefully on the ice, spinning herself in a way that Fiamette has never seen before. Her brows furrow, curiosity apparent in her facial features as she watches in awe. How was she doing this without slipping? Quickly the woman becomes aware of her presence, her limb extending outward as she halts her circular movement. "Hello yourself," Fia responds, crimson eyes trailing over every inch of the serpents form. Her gold markings accented her slim features beautifully, and her crazy moves on the ice intrigued her. "No peticilar reason," she really didn't have a reason for being out here. "But I must ask- how did you do that?" She's never played on ice long enough to learn how to do something like that. Maybe this woman could teach her?

Ah, so the crimson demon was interested in her, eh? A small smile accentuated the features of the black woman, nodding slightly at her non-existent reason for being out and about. That was how she was, too, usually. No particular reason, only that her paws brought her there. That would likely become the case when she learns more of the land, but for now... her company was awaiting a response. "I learned when I was a child," Ainia answered. "It was a game from where I was from - a game to teach our females how to fight, and how to use our environment to our advantage. I could teach you if you'd like?" she would extend the offer, smiling. She did not mind teaching - it took her a long while to learn hwo to do this; the woman would not be able to excel in such a short time. "I must warn you, though, that you will fall... many times," Ainia warned in her unique, Grecian-accented voice.

Something she learned as a child? Interesting. Her mother had taught her to fight, but never on ice. She assumed this girl came from a place where it was always cold, which would make fighting on ice a valuable asset. In Alacritis the most important fights happened in the battlefield, which was never covered in ice, so she wasn't too worried about it. But she did want to know how to do that spin thing. She nods her head once in response to the woman's offer, and carefully places a dark paw on the ice. Slowly she works her way onto the ice, her small form struggling to stay balanced on the slippery surface. Her gaze looks toward the woman for further instructions. Perhaps there was a warm up exercise they could do before trying the spin thing?

Oh, the woman was staying balanced, though was staying still! Very impressive; it had taken her a while to do that - of course, she had also been an utter klutz as a pup. Grinning, she nodded encouragement, smiling. "Very good," she praised the red woman, silver eyes glowing as she watched the red woman. "Try walking. The spin that I did is one of the more advanced forms - and definitely one of the least useful, but most fun." Walking would be difficult - she'd not be surprised if the woman faceplanted... and she'd help her up, while laughing. Such as things were.

The dark woman compliments her, and she responds by nodding silently. She didn't have much to say just yet, she just wanted to follow directions and find her grace on the ice. When the woman tells her to try walking, she doesn't hesitate. She takes a weary step forward, aiming to rest most of her weight on her back limbs to prevent falling. So far so good. She then takes another step toward the woman, but this time she miss steps. She slips and slides for a moment, her sharp claws scraping against the cold ice as she struggles to stay standing. Luckily she's able to catch herself before face planting, but surly she looked pretty stupid for a second. "This is harder than I thought it would be" She admits idly, a sly smile curling her lips as she looks toward the girl. She wasn't sure if she should keep going or wait.

Ainia watched with a wry smile curling her lips as Fiamette stepped onto the ice. She had much better balance than say, a pup did, but even then she was incredibly unstable on it, a fact that amused the woman greatly. It would take only a moment before Fia admitted her misconception, and Ainia would nod. She slid over to Fia, legs bent for balance, only pushing slightly so she slid to a stop in front of Fia. "Yes, most do. It took my first year, from puphood, to master the ice, and even so it takes concentration and upkeep of the skill," she explained. "When sliding, though, try to avoid using your laws. It can actually make it worse. You can't really stop on the ice, either, so you have to judge how much you have to push to figure out how much you'll slide - that's more of an experience thing, though."
