Kavdaya Of The Nomads

It was only a couple days since Surreal had at last put everything in motion and claimed the Plains. Her silver cousin had had words with her well before about a young fellow by the name of Miksa. He wished to learn healing, and Kavdaya was delighted to have someone to teach. Even if it was the basics, she still looked forward to showing her knowledge and sharing it with someone willing to learn

She was ready to start his training, and she had laid out several dried specimens out on the floor of the main chamber in the family den, though it could easily serve as a communal den from time to time. A good place for the Master Healer to hold healer's meetings a lessons. Would she someday have a fellow Master Healer at her side? Someone who could help spread the knowledge through Celestial, and keep the pack healthy?

As she chose the plants that would be the subject for the first lesson, she didn't realize how iconic this moment was. She knew that this had once been her relative's den since Erani, her late cousin, had found it years ago during the time of Valhalla. Surreal had passed the history on to her as readily as she had her own children. But even so, she didn't pause to think about how ironic it was that a first lesson was being given by a white healer who shared that blood, however distantly, through a patriarchal line.

She'd made her choices on the decision to start with something that she thought might interest a wolf who was also in training to fight; wound treatment. So she had chosen Yarrow, Agrimony, and Black Alder Bark. The leaves of the last selection were also useful, but in this instance, the bark would be what was taught. They were all plants that had something in common. They all stopped bleeding. Once the items were laid out, she went out to the end of the ravine, enjoying the blast of crisp latest winter air, before she tipped her head back and called politely for the young pupil she'd be teaching today. Her howl made, she waited patiently, while inside she bubbled with delight at her impending lesson.

Walk | Talk | Think

The excitement after the pack's founding had settled down, and a new awkwardness had taken its place as each of them attempted to find their spot within the pack. Miksa was still bent upon training as a fighter, eager and interested in bettering the skill that he hoped had stuck with him from the personal training Surreal had managed to give him upon his arrival. It was hard at times to keep it all in his mind, to consciously consider all the options available to him, but during a fight, in the moment, he hoped that the need to think and decide would come naturally and instinct would guide him.

He had just about forgotten that he had mentioned to Surreal his interest in healing, and when he heard another voice call out for him, a voice that was unrecognizable, he was at first uncertain. Was it really for him? Who wanted to talk to him? The white wolf second guessed it for a few seconds, hesitating, but eventually conceded and moved to answer the call, hurrying his pace to make up for the time he had stalled. Maybe it was just something...casual. Nothing to worry about.

No matter what he told himself, however, he still worried, and arrived at the den with his tan ears tipped back and a nervous look to his black-marked eyes. He slowed and paused outside of the den, spotting a solitary white figure within, and cautiously entered. "Hello?" he greeted, his uncertainty candid within his tone, "I think you called me? I'm Miksa." Briefly his bright eyes fell to the dried plants situated with care on the floor of the cavern, and his tucked ears finally perked as he tried to put things together and make sense of his summons.

Kavdaya Of The Nomads

Her first official pack pupil arrived, looking confused and slightly nervous. Kavdaya offered the young man a gently warm smile that bespoke of her sweet nature, amethyst struck sapphires twinkling gently at his greeting. "Hello, Miksa. I'm Kavdaya. As well as being Celestial's Master Healer, I am also your mentor in helaing. Are you ready for your first lesson?" Her velvet voice was lilted with an elegant Irish accent that bespoke of her Nomadic origin, and that while she spoke common perfectly, the Old Tongue was the first language she had ever heard spoken.

She rose and led him back to the cave, mounting the three natural stone steps into the black marble, gold veined stone room that was to be their class room. She settled comfortably, the line of plants between them. "Since you are a fighter, I thought we would start with plants that are common, and can be found out in the field." Her celestial gaze dropped to the three plants. "Which would you like to start with?" She would teach him one at a time, give him the lists of things they cured, and at the end, test him to see if he'd picked up the link between the three.

*Lesson will begin for points in Healing when Miksa chooses A B or C :P*

Walk | Talk | Think

Much like Surreal, the white wolf exuded an air of welcome and warmth, the kind smile she offered easing some of the nervousness that Miksa carried about answering the summons incorrectly. He managed to briefly draw his own expression into a nervous little smile in answer, though it was short lived and fell away as he realized she was to instruct him on healing techniques, just as he had mentioned to his leader. While the news should have been a delight, it came with its own set of new worries. If he learned this...would he still be able to remember everything that he was being taught about fighting?

He swallowed nervously, hoping his worries were unfounded as the healer led him into the den and back to where she had set out his first lesson. He was sure to follow directly behind her, feeling oddly intrusive despite being invited in, and slowed to a stop across from the smiling healer and her line of plants. Yellow eyes, shadowed within the interior of the cave, stared from one plant to the next, unable yet to recognize anything before him and not at all sure which he ought to start with once the decision was left to him.

Tan ears tipping back to his head again, the boy hesitated. One, two, or three? Would the first choice mean anything? Was there one in particular that he should choose first over the others? His gaze flicked nervously up into Kavdaya's face and back quickly to the plants, and with a sigh he made himself pick the first one that stood out to him most. "How 'bout this one?" Uncertainty colored his voice as he raised a forepaw and gestured to the plant situated to his very left. Hopefully it would be alright for him to start there.
