Evangeline had wandered from her pack's lands in search for herbs. It was a wet spring, but many herbs thrived in such an environment. Once away from the muddy slush of lands heavily frequented, she should find a profusion of growth to begin her stock for the year.
Plus she was still in heat, and didn't want to be around anyone right now.
She got distracted poking around in the rubbish instead of looking for herbs, though, and accidentally unearthed an interesting contraption of straps and bags of some sort of unnatural material, but it was so covered in mud that she couldn't quite figure out what it was. When it finally clicked, though, Vana flushed with excitement and triumph. It was a pack, specifically made for a wolf-sized canine to wear! What a thing to find in a human trash pit. It was exactly what she needed to carry around herbs and the like. She just needed to figure out where all the straps went...
She was lovingly brushing the dirt and mud from the pack when a sound caught her attention, and she pulled the pack against her chest possessively, scowling around as though the unknown noise-maker were there specifically to steal it. Whether it was another wolf making the sound or some small scavenger who happened to knock something over, she was equally ready to protect her prize from some would-be thief. It was hers.

Bleck! Well this was a disgusting place. Rœkia sniffed at the trash eyes narrowing as she debated whether it was really worth going into or not. She could probably find some interesting molds but it was unlikely she'd fine any of the herbs or mushrooms she was more familiar with. Well it was dry enough she was fairly certain she could find some Jimson Weed here if she looked long enough. "Wolf, I'm on the lookout for Jimson Weed, scout from the air and let me notice if you spy anything promising." The bird nodded. "You've got it Rœkia." He took to the sky as she set off on foot, sniffing around the wastes.
The worked for hours, turning over every piece they could find til Wolf suddenly called to her. "Rœkia, there's someone ahead." He fluttered down to rest on her left shoulder as she crested a particularly large mound of trash. She followed his gaze to see a young wolf a ways away. Rœkia shrugged and eyed the bird. "And? If you think I'm going to ask for help you're wrong. I've been studying Jimson Weed since I was 6 months old I can find it myself." She slid down the trashpile, shaking gunk and mud from her fur. She needed to get to a dryer part of the scrap if she wanted to obtain her target. "Just thought you might be curious…" the bird hummed lightly in an almost sing-song voice. Rœkia glared at Wolf. Ok… maybe she was a little curious and she could use a break.
Scrambling through the trash she made her way toward the strange woman and as she neared she caught the scent of heat. Oh boy… if the girl was anything like she was in a heat session the company was probably not welcome but the girl turned as a glass bottle shifted and made a distinctive clanking noise. Oops.
