Coming To The Light [Birthing]

The day was a good one, the lively woman was coming to be her lively self step by step. Thanks to Olafur and Odysseus, the woman was recovering from her physical injuries. The mental? Well, that was yet to be seen and treated. She had found herself a den from an old abandoned fox hole, her new friends never too far and were nearby watching over her. She was sure that without that odd pair, she would still be cowering in the hollow further North. The sun streamed through the overcast, weakly but she could feel the random warm rays as they crossed her pelt. The tiny woman was sniffing around the frozen remnants of the bushes that were nothing more then a tangle of sticks now, but she wondered what they were when it happened. Like a sudden burst of lightning, the first pain and wave of cramps took hold of her body. Cringing and whining, she fell to the ground as she curled in on herself, breathing fast and hard as she cried out.
What was happening!? She had never experienced this before, and little did she know that today would be the day her unwanted child was done brewing, and now ready to come out. Gasping for breath as each contraction took hold of her small frame, she shut her eyes as she tried to scramble to her feet. But the snow wasn't making it any easier. "O-olafur!? Odysseus?!" She called out for them, unsure if they were close enough to hear. Her body shook from the sudden pains, and she had no idea what to do. Hoping they would come back soon, she would slowly crawl back towards her den, a trail left behind her as she made her way slowly and painfully. |
