Finally, Locha saw the oasis. Still small from the summer heat stealing it's water called the woman from the distance. Tongue lolling, she started at an easy lope in the direction of the palms. It was then the started feeling dizzy. Stumbling, the woman closed her blue eyes, a thumping pain beginning in the middle of her forehead. The unstable ground started to slip, forcing her to carry on. As she blinked, the world started to spin, the colour of the world around her suddenly too vivid and the noises to piercing to her ears. Blindly now, she stumbled onwards. What should have been a few minutes journey felt as if it were stretching for hours.
Finally, the shade of the palms shielded her from the sun, which had mysteriously doubled in the indigo sky. Her body felt as heavy as lead and the fogginess that had crept over her mind left no room for confusion. Locha lurched towards the water, but before she could take her third step, a raking cough left her breathless and she collapsed, just shy of the tree's shade.

Creed was doing his best to try and keep himself busy for Surreal's sake so that she wouldn't have to stress. Between being pregnant and sick and then Regulus being sick as well he could only imagine how hard it was on her. Not to mention if Miksa was really gone too... well he felt like the pack needed a break. So much seemed to be going on lately and if there really was a contagious disease being passed around then he wasn't sure what was going to happen next. It made him hesitant to leave the pack lands for fear of bringing something back with him, but he couldn't very well stay hidden until this went away either.

The oasis at least wasn't very far away and after that he planned to do a bit of investigating. He wanted to branch out to the rest of the packs and gain some information. In the mean time he just wanted to escape the patrolling and the sickness and the inactivity for some quiet so he could think.

The familiar sight of the palm trees and small body of water finally came to view but his attention wouldn't remain on it for long. The scent of Locha hit his nostrils and he noticed her body laid out just barely away from the shade of one of the trees. His brows knit together with worry as he trotted quickly towards the blue coated female. He came to a stop near her as he examined her form with concern. He noted no outward wounds though something definitely seemed off about her.

"Locha... are ye alrigh'?"

The sweltering sun beat down on her unshaded head, only aided by her dark fur. Her mouth was dry and she cold feel her heartbeat in her throat. What was happening to her? A strange thumping sound echoed in her ears, getting louder and louder. Opening her eyes was a challenge, but the sight she saw surprised her. Although blurred. the clear outlined form of Creed was before her. Squinting, she could make out the bright turquoise of his eyes and his scrunched eyebrows. He spoke, the sound slightly muffled yet echo-ey at the same time.

"Loch......ye alrigh'?"
Trying to sort her confused thoughts, Locha shifted forward in the sand.
"I...I don't know. Breathing is hard. " Almost like clockwork, another fit of coughing took over. Ears pressed back against her head, the woman rasped to regain her breath.

She was sick.

He watched worriedly as he watched her struggle to open her eyes. He noted how long it took her to focus on him and he looked her up and down again. He wasn't a healer so he couldn't tell what exactly she had but it was obviously serious. His first and only thought process was to get her back to Celestial so that she could be looked over by Kavdaya before she got any sicker. It'd have to be soon too before she got worse and wasn't able to move.

"I...I don't know. Breathing is hard. "

Her voice was raspy and the coughing concerned him more than anything. An idea popped in his mind and he swiftly padded over to one of the smaller trees. It was simple enough to stand up on his hind legs, using the tree to place his front paws on, he grabbed a pieced of bark that was slowly being stripped from the trunk. Ripping it free he then padded over to the oasis and then dipped it into the water letting it pool in the bark. It wasn't much but he could keep filling it if she needed it. More carefully this time, he worked his way back over to Locha and gently set the makeshift bowl down in front of her.

"Drink tha'." He said in a stern yet gentle tone. "Once yer feelin' up ta it Ah insist ye come back ta Celestial with me so tha' our healer can look ye over. We have a lake so ye'll like it."

activate my heart

Once the woman had regained her breath as much as she could, she looked over to where Creed was standing next to a tree. He seemed to be looking at a piece of bark peeling off the trunk that she could see with perfect clarity among the other blurs that everything else had become. Head pulsing, her eyes closed, blocking the harsh sunlight.

Her blue eyes only opened again when a shadow was cast over her and the echo of something being placed before her resounded in her ears. She lifted her head and looked to the man above. There was water cupped in the bark, glistening enticingly. He was being so nice to her. Tilting her head back down to the ground, she listened as he told her to drink. His voice left no room for argument. She lapped up the water, her eyes close to watering with the relief it brought her throat. Already, the clouds over her mind had cleared a little. Unfortunately it did nothing to ease her headache.

"Once yer feelin' up ta it Ah insist ye come back ta Celestial with me so tha' our healer can look ye over. We have a lake so ye'll like it." Eyes widening, Locha looked up at the man. Even in her unclear state of mind, she knew she couldn't get back to Donostrea as she was, and it wasn't like Creed was a stranger. Conjuring the best smile she could, she agreed with a scratchy voice:

"Thank you, Creed. You better not be kidding about the lake. " Unsteadily, the woman rose to her paws, looking for all the world like a newborn fawn.

He was pleased when she didn't waste any energy arguing with him. Not that he'd been trying to be overly commanding but he was happy that she was getting some liquids in her. He could easily remember when he was younger and had gotten sick. His mother had always told him to drink lots to try and stay hydrated. That applied even more here since it was still so warm out. He could imagine that she felt quite awful right now with the sun bearing down on her.

"Thank you, Creed. You better not be kidding about the lake."

He chuckled softly at her words. She sure did live up to her name and colors that was for sure. His den wasn't too far from the lake and there were plenty more that were right by the lake. If she didn't like any of those he could clear a new one out so she could rest in it until Kavdaya could heal her and she could return home.

"Ah promise Ah'm not."

He watched as she rose to her paws and Creed tensed as he prepared himself to help her if it looked like she was going to topple over. He didn't want to overstep his boundaries, but he hovered close by so she could lean on him if she needed any assistance. It would remain like that for the duration of their trip too.

"Ah promise Ah'm not." Creed chuckled. Locha looked up at the male and smiled, taking a shaky step towards him. She felt steady enough, so she took another, and another. Her head remained lowered, ears bent back, but she already felt better since he found her. She noticed Creed's tense form and felt a spike of guilt. She hated being a burden on anyone, especially on one so kind. As she waited a few seconds for him to take the lead, she nudged her own shoulder against his and smiled in thanks. She kept close for the rest of the journey, never straying too far from the male's side.
