His mom was well on her way to doing what she wanted to do. But him? He was eager to get things started, and leaving imperium was no hard choice. He had no real connections there except for his family, and wherever his family went, he would go too. His growing form moved not so quietly through the moon bleached trees. Large paws shuffling noisily across the ground. He'd yet to learn the grace that his mother had, but that was okay. There was still a while before the lanky youth learned to tone down the childish nature he carried most of the time. After a while, the youth would stop to investigate the white trees, sniffing at a nearby tree as he wondered why it was so white and...lifeless.

Silent paws graced the earth with each movement, carrying forth a being of white. Her body moved or rather seemed to float as she roamed around the white trees. Such a late hour, the moonlight casting a silver glow and everything it touched. One would think she should be resting after the traveling she had done with her brother. They had finally made it back to the lands they were born on. It would be her first return, unlike her brother Laoch, this was his third time and perhaps his last time. As they both would be making a living here from now on, since they no longer had their parents alive and just each other. She knew family lived somewhere here, a lot of family.
The white wolf paused, her ice blue eyes gleamed in the moonlight, golden flecks sparkling. Her pale silvery grey ears twitched at the suddenly, and loud, movement of another being. For a moment she was worried. She was alone, had left Laoch's side while he rested because she could not. How could she with so many thoughts swirling in her mind? Mostly one thought. Her had helped ease her mother into death. The right herbs used to take Imena into an eternal slumber to join her mate Cael. She though had asked her mother if she wished for it. And so she did that one last task for her mother, one last task as her mother's student. It was a burden she carried alone, her brother unaware of the deed she had done. The white girl shook her head, snapping out of her thoughts.
With a hesitant stepped she continued on, her healer mind taking in everything. Those white trees looked like something she had seen before. Could their barks be used safely for healing purposes? Approaching a tree she reached up to place her front paws on the trunk. Nose carefully sniffed the bark before lips pulled back to allow her teeth the tear a piece off. The sound of bark ripping off seemed oddly loud in the landscape. She paused for a moment, unease prickling up her spine before she finished tearing a piece off and examining it on the ground. So engrossed in her findings she forgot about the sound out another roaming around.

The eerie silence that this place offered was a little unsettling, the youth quickly finding out as he removed himself from the trees side. As he walked again, he could hear the foot steps that echoed, and he wondered who might be following him. That is, until he stopped and realized it was the sound of his own foot steps. He rolled his eyes and scoffed, ears lightly twitching at his own naive amusement.

Another sound, he paused again. What was that? Green gaze searched his surroundings, unease settling in as the ripping sound continued. He was beginning to convince himself that there might be ghosts here, and had he known that they didn't actually exist, he might not have been so uneasy. Almost as soon as the noise started, it was gone. The boy was left alone in silence once more. What had caused him to go out so late anyway? Restlessness? Curiosity? Who knew.

Again, he moved forward. And next thing he knew, a white form materialized a short distance away. He felt his fur prickle along his spine, his heart pounding in his chest. Was that...a ghost? He swallowed the nervousness that clung to his throat, ears flattening with nervousness. He felt like his mouth went dry, but he had at least a little courage to try and call out to the being. "H-Hello? Are you a ghost or something?" That was what you asked a ghost, right?

Mind puzzled over the bark, nose sniffing its unique scent. Perhaps this was why she needed to be around her brother all the time. She could get so absorbed in plants and their uses for healing, she'd tune out the whole world. How had she made it through her puphood, luck and a close knit family. That and she never had the urge to stray away from home. She might be naïve about some things in life but in another aspect she could be wiser than her years.
A sudden voice caused her ears to perk up. Head lifted slowly, icy blue orbs pin pointing the owner of the nervous voice. She stood there calmly, if anything a little disinterested. Tail hung limp, ears focused on the younger wolf, but she made no other movements. Time seemed to stand still as she debated whether or not to even reply. The other obviously looked nervous of her presence, why she didn't know why. Then she thought over his words. She scoffed herself silently. She must have been standing there staring at him for a good while now. "No.." Her finally replied back in a soft soothing voice before her eyes drifted back to the bark at her paws. Slowly she glanced back up. Could she trust this wolf to let her guard down enough to continue her investigation of the bark? She frowned slightly, right ear twitching back.
Her thoughts drifted back to her days training with her parents. At the very least her parents had taught her and her brothers basic defense. So should anything happen she could rely on that. But she was not like her brothers, specially Laoch. Heck they might as well be complete opposites. She sighed softly before sitting down and looking back at the other male. Why would he think she was a ghost?

His ears twitched nervously as he waited for her answer. Green eyes were focused, heart still hammering in his chest. The longer he stood there, the more he was convincing himself that she was a ghost. Could ghosts talk? She'd been quiet for a really long time. Was she going to possess him for trespassing? It felt like forever before she said anything, and the only word from her was a simple "no."

He was still hesitant, but the longer they just stared at each other, the more awkward it began to feel. He took a few shuffling steps forward, trying to better uncover her scent. Sniffing the air, he confirmed that her scent was too real to be fake. A heavy breath of air left his lungs like he'd been holding it this whole time. "Oh good! For a moment I thought you were a ghost!" He abandoned his initial hesitant demeanor, choosing to move forward with a smile and a waving tail and approach her. He stopped a few feet away, green eyes bright and his tail wagging, posture relaxed. "I'm Dragon! It's nice to meet you, so what's your name and what're you doing to the tree?" The youth tilted his head as he looked at her, curiosity written all over his face.

Normally she was the timid and shy one, but the younger male took that rule. In a way it was refreshing to her. She didn't have to worry as much and feel so anxious and hide behind Laoch like she normally did. She watched him move forwards, trying to catch her scent. Seeming to be satisfied with it he relaxed and commented on her not being a ghost. Did ghosts really exist? "I've never seen one." She commented thoughtfully about it. She looked down at the bark again with a slight frown. She wanted to know more about it and there wasn't anyone to ask.
The male moved closer and introduced himself as Dragon and then began to question her. Her icy blue eyes flickered up back at him, ears twitching back. She didn't like talking much at all really. She'd rather just enjoy the silence. But she supposed the silence unnerved Dragon. She shifted uneasily battling whether or not to answer. "Shikoba.." She whispered and looked away. She placed a paw on the bark, feeling it's texture for a moment. She hated describing what she was doing. She hated her own voice honestly. She frowned down at herself. But she couldn't just sit there and not respond to him, it would be rude. She wished Laoch was with her now. "Investigating" There, that was something right? Did she even say it loud enough for him to hear? She didn't want to repeat herself. She turned her gaze back to him.

She didn't talk much, did she? The pale woman gave him single worded answers to all his questions. He flicked his ears as he thought about what else to say that might get her to talk more. Unless she wanted to be alone, but he didn't know for sure. "Shikoba is a pretty name!" Awkward or no? He thought it was, anyway. He watched her play around with the bark, wondering what she was trying to do with it. "Umm...what're you trying to do with that?" He questioned. Honestly curious about it. Maybe she could teach him something, or play or something.
