OOC// First round due by August 8th! No shows will be punished without a valid absence!

It was high time for a meeting. There was much she wanted to discuss, and now that the pack was nearing its 3rd season, it was time to get the ball moving. The members of the pack should have grown accustomed to being here now, so after this, there was no excuse to continue the activities they were doing. Or rather, the lack thereof. Her talk with Valentine left her with much to think about, and she had taken his advice. If she wanted the pack to thrive, then certain measures would be taken to ensure their survival. The survival of Ivalice itself. And she would not let it fall from within, no. She worked way too hard all these years to let that happen. And if it did, then it would be over her dead body.

She'd gone on an early morning patrol, and on the way back she headed towards the heart of the pines where the two oldest fallen trees lay resting one on top of the other. Leaping up onto the perch, she tilted her head back and called for the members of Ivalice. Those who did not show would have consequences, but she hoped they would all come. She couldn't keep letting things go the way they were going. It was time to make some changes. "They better come..." She muttered. And if they didn't, well. It wouldn't be pretty.

The call of his mother made the boy pause, ears swivelling towards the direction the sound came from. Oh? What was she calling about? It was for the whole pack, and Lykos did have a curiosity as to what she was planning. Did it have something to do with Vereux? She'd been pretty surprised by the information she gave, because she hadn't known it... perhaps she was making him answer for his traitorous actions.

His gentle lope was enough to bring him from the border to where Avalon was pretty quickly, and glancing around, he affirmed he was the first to arrive - unlike at the festival. Nodding to Avalon in a respectful greeting, he tried to figure out where to sit. Did he sit up with her, since he was in a position of (relative) authority? He spotted a place next to her, that was on a lower branch; she was sitting at the highest point; he could set below her on her left. He did just that, leaping smoothly onto the fallen log, and balancing haphazardously on the limb before plopping his butt roughly down, leaning slightly against the other log that was propped up. It was rather difficult to balance, as big as he was.

Esarosa perked at the sound of Avalon's voice calling to the entire pack. Oh, a meeting? She wondered what the topic of discussion would be, and she hoped there was nothing too terribly serious. Her paws began to carry her in the direction she needed to go, as she wondered who she would see when she arrived. There were still many wolves in Ivalice that she didn't know or recognize, so this would be a good chance for her to get familiar with them, and they with her. She hoped her friends wouldn't be late. She worried about Itri - she hadn't seen him in a long time. Was pack life just too demanding for him? She ought to go looking for him soon, although she knew that if he didn't want to be found, it would be impossible to locate him.

As she arrived at the meeting location, she saw Avalon atop the large fallen trees, and not far over, Lykos. She was glad she had at least gotten to know the heir on the hunt; it would probably be a good thing if she got to know all of the higher ranked wolves in Ivalice. Who else would be here? She surprised herself at being somewhat early, as she was usually more nonchalant about important things like these, but she found herself trying to be more responsible lately. So, she seated herself, offering a smile and dip of her head to Avalon, turning and greeting Lykos the same before getting comfortable to wait for the rest to show up.

Mama was calling... Mama sounded... Angry? Frustrated? The little itty bitty ball of fluff rose from where he lay, his gaze thoughtful as golden eyes searched the area of the pines. He was sure mama wouldn’t really like him going off without his Papa or older siblings leading the way but... She was calling! Surely it had to be important, yeah? Enlil looked back towards the direction of the den. He wasn’t too far from it... Should he call for his siblings? Nah, they probably heard their mama’s call too. So scurrying off in the direction the howl came from Enlil went, curiosity shining in his eyes.

When he arrived it was to find his big brother, Lykos, his mama, and one other lady present. The little dark and light ball of fur wiggled over to Esarosa, sitting down by her and beaming up at her with an innocent look. “Hallo~” He barked out, little ears twitching on his head. Were others coming? Was that why mama was waiting before talking to them? He wanted to ask questions, but stopped as he continued to look up at the pretty dark furred lady. If she was being quiet then maybe he should be too!

The stick he'd been chewing on was his priority. His thoughts had been straying lately, towards what to do around the pack. There were new kids now, and suddenly he felt a bit replaced but at the same time....didn't really care. He liked them somewhat, but he was used to being the only one so to speak, and he was sure his brothers felt similar but he wasn't sure. So when his mother called, he thought for a moment about what it might be for. Training? Hunting? Had mentors been assigned yet? Was she still figuring that out? He wanted to learn dammit!

Finally after a few moments, he abandoned his stick and headed towards her. Though he figured he oughta pass by the den and see if his younger siblings were still there or if they were already with mom. Of course, when he arrived, he found Okami outside and Enlil's trail heading towards where his mom was...by himself? Where the fuck was Vereux? Without fully stopping, he slowed to a trot as he passed by. "Come on guys. Mom's calling."

He kept a pace so that at least Okami could follow considering her sight problem. And when he arrived at the meeting, only a couple others had arrived. His brother sat up front with his mother which...He wasn't sure what to make of it, but whatever floated their boat. Meanwhile, he went to sit near the front, green eyes questioning towards his mom. "When are we gonna start training?" Okay, he was pretty impatient about it. He wanted to learn how to fight and stuff, he didn't care about herbs or anything like that. Fighting and maaaybe political crap, but he'd honestly rather use his muscles.

Mama had called, and she definitely heard it. But she was too slow to come out of the den before Enlil ran off. She was hesitant to follow, unsure of exactly where she was supposed to go or if she should wait for dad or her brothers or..something. She didn't want to accidentally go the wrong way, so she sat outside the den and thought about what to do. That was when Dragon came, telling them to follow and that was exactly what she did. Without hesitation this time, she bounded after his heels as he led the way to wherever momma was. What was she calling for? She didn't sound happy...were they in trouble? Did she do something wrong? She guessed she'd find out.

When she arrived, only three of her brothers and someone else was there, a woman judging by scent but she didn't know who yet. Bouncing forward, she wanted to sit up with her mom, but Okami was still too small to climb the logs mom and Lykos were sitting on. So instead, she bounded towards Dragon and sat next to him, waiting.

Hmm? What was this? The alphess calling the pack together? Red tinted ears listened for a moment, and she decided that the howl was necessary to answer, and also sounded unpleasantly...angry. The oddity marched towards the call, long legs churning the snow as she went. It didn't take long for her to arrive, and when she did she noted the presence of a few. The rest of the pack (however many there were, she didn't know), had yet to show. But at least she wasn't last. Spotting Esarosa among the little group, she walked towards her and placed herself next to the little pup that was sitting next to Esarosa. She could smell the woman's scent, a brow quirking and a smirk pulling at her lips. Nudging her shoulder, she giggled. "Hey there pretty girl, got any plans this season?" Her tone was playfully teasing, voice low enough so only she could hear.

Sigh. It was one of those days, where they just had no choice but to wait around the den. At least they could be outside, but he was tired of wrestling and fooling around; he'd rather be out and about learning something new. Liar was out, and they hadn't been able to accompany him today. There was little else to do but sit around for now. But then a great big howl filled the air, and as their father had told them, Avalon, the pack leader, would call the wolves together from time to time. And that they must go to that call, as it was crucially important to always head the Alphaess. Looking around at his siblings, and began to dash away in the direction of the howl. "Come on guys, we have to go!" he called out as he took off, his paws racing, charging ahead as always.

He wasn't really sure exactly where to go, but he was sure the howl had come from the direction he was heading. And if he tried just hard enough, inhaling sharply through his nose, it seemed to him that maybe some other wolves had passed by this way. He must be getting closer. Then all of a sudden, he came into a clearing where some of the other wolves and a few more pups had already gathered. Where was Liar? It looked like his dad wasn't here yet, and there was no one that he was really familiar with. Until he spotted Enlil, one of Avalon's kids. He would have sat by the boy, but he was kinda hoping he'd get to sit with his own family at the meeting. So he went somewhat near where Enlil was sitting with two unfamiliar adults, but moved himself several feet away, creating a space for his siblings and his father to join him - he hoped they would all come.

He was getting real tired of this. Having to stay around the den while his dad went off doing stuff, and his mom well...who the hell knew. Alabaster ears perked at the sound of an important sounding howl, and before he could comment on it, Ramsay had already begun to charge towards it. "Hmph." He chased after Ramsay, not really caring to wait for the others. Vadim was. ..well, he didn't even fucking know. Snorting, he really thought the crap his dad talked about was bullshit. After all, if being a king was so great, why wasn't he a king? Whydidn't he snatch the crown away from their alphess? Or from a different pack? It was something he wanted to ask, but his dad would probably give him the run around. Upon arriving, he ignored all others present and made a beeline towards Ramsay, sitting next to him but not saying a word.

The soft and subtle colors produced by the juvenile's mind swirled around in his imagination as the chubby pup slept peacefully. His siblings seemed to be bored beyond their wits, but laying around and napping never much bothered Vadim while he waited for their dad to return with more life lessons. The howl, however, caused those puppy-blue eyes to roll in his head and slowly open, his paws slowing their dream-state twitching as he perked up just in time to see Ramsay bolting out the den's entrance. Greed was staring at him for just a moment before he too left him behind, well-- such behavior was not uncommon among their little family.

While the other children bickered between one another at a near-constant rate, Vadim had remained mostly quiet and curious on their outings and today would be no different. Large and hardly graceful paws moved him at a leisurely pace into the light of the sun, it's bright shine triggering a sudden yawn to split apart his maw and nearly make him trip. He stumbled but quickly found his balance and then headed forward in a semi-jog, though it was apparent that he would be arriving far later than either of his siblings that had set out before him.

When he arrived to the clearing, he paused and took in all the different faces that he'd certainly never seen before. Finally, there was whom he assumed to be the Queen judging by her expectant look and the way the other wolves seemed to flock around her. He did his best not to make direct eye contact, but instead switched his focus to the nearby Ramsay and weaved his way over to sit with his brother, shoulder-to-shoulder. He found himself searching the gathering of wolves for his father- but Vadim was slowly growing less dependent on either parent.. as he barely remembered the look of their milk-provider now. His searching barely lasted beyond a quick glance before he turned his disproportionately sized skull toward Ramsay and affectionately lifted his maw to Ramsay's cheek, snorting against his brother's face before attempting to take his ear into his maw. If he succeeded, he'd immediately let it go- as it'd just been to remind Ramsay of the playful bond they shared as brothers.

there were no cracks to grasp or gaps to claw

With their mother officially out of the picture, it was his duty to look after the runts. As they grew bigger Liar would make sure to keep a closer eye on them. The only calm one out of the group was Vadim - probably taking the most out of his father. However it wasn't as if he blamed them for just being. Ash was a princess, the only girl out of the group she was learning fast how to try and manipulate others. Greed... well he was half a mystery but seemed like a ticking fire bomb. It reminded him a little of one of his other sons. As he walked along with them the meeting had gathered a handful of wolves along with pups. The alphess didn't seem happy, which he probably understood.

Life was all about careful planning, just because he didn't have a pack nor his children yet didn't make any of them not royalty. It was the blood that ran through their veins, with strength you needed smarts. Liar seemed emotionless, dumb, void of thought and strange. That's exactly how his enemies would see him until their blood was staining his paws. As he sat patiently with his children he waited for them to be addressed.

The call from Avalon sounded a bit grumpy, which to Amachi didn't bother her one bit. As the large woman made her way towards the meeting, her tail trailing behind her. She was silent as the beast who stood out against the snow would stand on the outskirts of the group. Just where she was more comfortable. Her eyes scanned over the gathering - wondering what Avalon had to say curiously. After all the warrior was ready at Avalon's beck and call. She swore herself to Ivalice so whatever it took after all.

Amachi wouldn't sit, keeping her stance at a standing position to make herself a lot more comfortable. It may have seemed more on edge, but she didn't care. Gray eyes waiting in anticipation. Which wasn't exactly the easiest thing considering she didn't know what was going to happen next.

What had gotten into him recently? Honestly it was as if he was falling into worse and worse habits. No Vereux didn't want his past to define him, and obvious to Avalon's call she was upset. Vereux hurried up finishing whatever it was he was doing and headed straight over. As he took a seat closer to her but not in a position of where it seemed like he was trying to sit next to her. The healer was simply that, he was a healer of Ivalice first and Avalon's lover second he supposed. As he looked to Enlil a small smile appeared on his face to his child. There was also Okami, hauntingly reminding him of his father. Though she was as sweet as could be. It was no doubt she'd grow to be amazing.

Vereux would take in a deep breath. He didn't want to seem like he did nothing all day. After all he couldn't let his anxieties take him over. He was a man of his word in these days. It was Avalon who had made him realize that. Even with foolish mistakes and the like. He would try his best to be here where he could.

TAKE LIFE BY THE HORNS
Charm climbed into the meeting practically as she hid behind her mother. She was a bit nervous about how angry she sounded. Regardless of all these new strangers as well. She would sit behind her mother as she called for the pack. Though if required she'd leave and go out with the crowd. It seemed some of her siblings were already here. That including her older ones which she never really spoke to. The runt sniffled a bit as she flicked her ears slightly. Maybe today would turn out better than she thought, after all she never knew what would happen next.

A sigh would leave his maw as a howl for the pack broke out. Another pack meeting? Oh goodie. Just what he wanted. Another stupid meeting so he could see all of their stupid faces. He'd been trying to stay gone, to avoid seeing those new siblings of his, and see the faces of strangers peering at him. Even his own siblings felt like foreigners to him now and the more he stuck around the worse he felt about the whole thing. He'd originally felt ecstatic about leaving Valentine's pack to come with their mother for hers, but now it just angered him. He didn't feel like a part of the pack at all. It was Imperium all over again except this time he wasn't sick.

He'd arrive at the meeting and he'd glower at his younger siblings. Their mother was so preoccupied with them and Vereux lately he doubted she'd even really noticed his absence. Did his siblings even miss him? He doubted it. He'd glance at Lykos, a scowl raising on his face as he watched him sit all high and mighty with their mother, before he sat himself as far away from everyone as he could. He just wanted this thing to be over with. He didn't even know why he was here.

Why was Greed so grumpy all the time, that was one thing the princess didn't understand. Well it was none of her business anyway, she was in no position to say. As the pup came across the meeting, she sat herself - close to her father. Meanwhile she saw Vadim and Ramsay and shot her brothers a smile. Wiggling her tail slightly, she then noticed something interesting. As grumpy as that male, Kharnage, seemed to be she was curious. The cream pup stood up and wandered over to him. Sitting a few feet away, but still taking an interest. Hopefully he wouldn't bite off her face.

Honestly, Steel wasn't looking forward to a meeting. He wasn't terribly active in Ivalice - he worried about what might happen if he was asked to leave. He didn't know the leadership here well. Who knew what exactly they expected of him? A slight frown creased his lips at the thought. The expression faded quickly though, because... he and Esarosa had other things to worry about. They'd decided to start a family together. He wasn't totally sure if their efforts had been successful or not, but it was enough to brighten his mood when he might otherwise feel down.

Slowly he'd make his way to the meeting. His gait was not at all hurried, though when the group of wolves come into view, it quickened slightly. Most of the individuals there were entirely unfamiliar to him. His crimson gaze roved over the group until he found Esarosa, and quickly he would move to sit at her side. Without hesitation, he would offer her a gentle nuzzle and a soft murmur of a greeting as he settled down and waited for the meeting to begin.

Chimera had wandered away from the den a bit. It was still within sight, but she wasn't entirely sure if anyone could see her from the spot she had found behind a bush. She was pawing at the base of the bush, trying to find the little roots that were hidden under the dirt. Her gray ears perked up at her mother's voice and for a moment she wasn't sure why she was howling. She quickly realized it was a call for everyone when she saw her older brother coming to lead them off just as she stepped out from behind the bush. She trotted after them after giving herself a quick shake. When she got there she looked around at all the wolves there, trying to decide where she would sit. She settled on going over to where her father was sitting and plopped down beside him. She didn't really know what she was supposed to do at this thing, but she figured as long as she followed her parent's lead she wouldn't look too silly.

Galahad honestly felt a bit guilty about his current activity in the pack. He had started out with all of the best intentions of connecting with everyone that was here and trying to help his sister when he could, but somehow he hadn't accomplished any of that. He had actually introduced himself to maybe one of his pack mates. He really hadn't even gotten the chance to meet all of his nieces and nephews, especially the youngest ones. Or her new mate for that matter. He was failing all around it seemed. When he heard his sister's howl his ears twitched guiltily. She didn't sound happy and he knew he was part of the problem. Reluctantly he got up and hurried toward the meeting, determined not to miss this as well. He found a spot among the crowd near Amachi. They had only spoken once, but she was the only one he kind of knew so he decided it was better than nothing. He tried to give Avalon a little smile while he waited for her to begin the meeting.

She didn't have to wait very long before they began to trickle in. Lykos was first, as was expected of him. She knew she'd been lacking in training him, which now that things had calmed to a degree, she should get started on his training. Her only concern was his devotion to the pack. Was he truly devoted here? Was it worth keeping him as the Heir? These questions often crossed her mind, but he hadn't come to tell her that he didn't want to be the heir. All she could do was observe for now. After all, he had chosen to accept the position, she had given him the offer and if he didn't want to do it then she wouldn't be upset. She would nod to him in a return greeting, her features remaining stern and serious which was unusual for her. Normally, she had some sort of a warm and welcoming smile of some sort, but not today. Esarosa came next, and to her she offered a small smile before returning to her previous state. The black woman was a pleasure to be around, and Avalon was also pleased that she had taken it upon herself to call the pack for a hunt, especially considering the fact that she was a newer member. She had watched and gauged the woman's abilities during the hunt, and rather liked what she had seen.

Enlil, Dragon, and Okami arrived then. And her gaze fixed on Dragon as he raised a question that made her fur prickle. "Soon. That will be discussed." Yes, she knew they were behind in being properly trained, but were they also not going out to try on their own? She would make that a key point in today's meeting among other things she wanted to discuss. Another of Esarosa's friends would show, followed by Liar and his Brood. She'd not forgotten some of the things concerning her members, particularly the disappearance of Abelinda and one of her children, as well as the young boy that had joined with Esa. She'd learn her lesson then, not everyone's word could be trusted. Then again...Abelinda was an armada. Could they ever truly be trusted? The rest would fall in, her head dipping slightly to Amachi and Vereux, Steel, and Galahad. She'd noticed that many had been scarce, and when Kharnage showed up, she was rather surprised to see him considering his scent seemed to be pretty scarce. She knew her children had some issues, but she wasn't sure how to fix them when they never seemed to come to her to voice it. It irked her, and when she started to think about it, it made her tail lash. She'd put an end to it all soon, she was tired of being walked all over, even by her own family.

All but the missing had arrived, and Gryphon had been excused since he'd come down with a cold. She'd rather he stay in his den then get the rest of them sick. Amber gaze looked over the gathered, silence falling around them as she assessed each and every one of them. She wanted them to simmer in their thoughts for a moment, no doubt they knew at least one reason why they were called today. Her usual friendly demeanor was absent today, because today was a no bullshit business day. She refused to let the pack dwindle into a ghost town like so many others. Not under her watch. A flash of movement above caught her attention as Tanaraq silently landed on a branch above her, the raptors dark eyes staring intensely at the crowd. Her own gaze returned to them as well, it was time.

"Thank you to those who decided to show up. I wish I could say this was a more...jovial meeting, but I'm sure most of you know already what it might concern. I also want everyone to voice their concerns, assuming it involves the pack as a whole. Otherwise, speak with me privately after. Let me know before the meeting is over, but I'd prefer everything be addressed today." How could they not know what it was about when half of them contributed to the problem? She also hoped they'd take this seriously, because she certainly was. And if it wasn't clear already, she wasn't being Mr. Nice guy right now. Clearing her throat, she made her fur lie flat, though her posture radiated authority and her voice demanded attention. "First, I would like to address a few missing parties..." Her gaze briefly found Vereux first, and then Liar. Abelinda was both Vereux' relative, and Liar's mate after all. "It seems we have our first deserter. Abelinda Armada has disappeared without a word, and with her disappearance, a child has gone missing as well. While it may be of her blood, the pup belongs to the pack. Anyone who has information on her whereabouts, or if you come across her...bring her here by any means necessary. The child as well, but I'm sure I don't have to tell you not to harm it." She watched them, Liar in particular. If he had known she was missing, why hadn't he gone to look for her? Unless of course, he used the older woman as nothing more then a tool to produce offspring...and it was then with that thought, her fur began to rise slightly. If her speculation proved to be true, there would be consequences for such actions. They didn't have the room for offspring that were produced for nothing more then selfish greed. The pack didn't have that luxury with the little room they had. "Itri is missing as well, he's kept to himself so the best description I can give is that he's a black young male with gold markings. Let me, or Esarosa know if you see him. He is not accustomed to pack life." She would point her muzzle towards the ebony woman so that those who didn't know her, could put a name to a face.

Now that that was out of the way, it was time for more important matters. "I know alot of you have concern over our lack of training, and I will say this now. Training may be called by our healers, hunters, and fighters, and is in fact encouraged. Novices are required to attend, and that includes the heir." She looked towards Lykos for a moment, "Your rank also serves as an in-training rank. You will train with me, and when I am not training you, then you will train with the other novices when called to do so." She then looked at each child, from her eldest down to the youngest pup. "Pups are also required to begin training, so I expect everyone to pass on what they know to help them succeed." Now, for the somewhat formal part that she'd taken alot of time to think on. "Now, it is also time to assign mentors to our novices. Galahad, you will take Kharnage. Amachi, you will take Dragon. I will take Lykos. And for Gryphon..." Her gaze moved over Esarosa, a small smile finding it's way on her maw. "Esarosa. You're a skilled hunter, I'd like you to teach him what you can. And, you are also being promoted to Ranger. Congratulations." She stopped for a minute to allow most, if not everything she said, to sink in. If the pack still refused to get it in gear, then she'd have no choice but to start issuing restrictions and punishment. "All those in Tier five are also encouraged to attend training, and prove your worth. I'd like to see the higher ranks filling up, so get on it. Failure to attend training will result in consequences, and that goes for everyone."

She had to stop for bit. She'd said alot so far, and she wanted to give them time to absorb it all, and think on any questions they might have, especially since it was alot of information to process. And yet, she still wasn't done. There were still a few things she wanted to get off her chest, and get out there. One of those, concerned the pups. "I am sure some of you have noticed we've got quite the number of pups roaming around. Some of you have met, while others have not. So, a quick introduction I think." She moved closer to the edge of her perch, muzzle pointing down towards her little snow angel first. "I'd like to introduce Okami, Enlil, Chimera, and Charm." She pointed to each one in turn, moving on then to Liar's pups. "We also have Ash, Greed, Vadim, and Ramsay." That was almost all of them...Save for the one missing. "With that, I'd also like to state a rule that has been broken already." She looked pointedly at the pups, liar's in particular since she'd caught his leaving pack lands. "Pups are not to leave pack lands without an adult, period. You are not yet old enough to defend yourselves, so next time you are caught trying to sneak out, you'll be confined to your dens. And I'm sure you don't want that."

She sat down now. Catching her breath and taking a moment to think about what she wanted to say next. She had more or less addressed the issue on activity with the training topic, and she was sure they got the message. Then she remembered something Valentine had mentioned, and thought it best to continue with that. "There is another thing I'd like to touch on. And that is the assessment of your skills. I want to gauge the abilities of each of you to help me determine what you are best suited for, as well as determine what your place will be and if you need to improve. Ivalice is a home for those who want it. And unfortunately, the lack of space means I need to be more strict on who lives here. I've thought on an option, but I don't think we are close to ready. However, there may be an opportunity arising if you truly wish to prove your worth." Raids. That would be a good way to give them a potential idea of the bigger picture, right? Not only that, but they could test their ability and unleash all the pent up emotions or whatever they had upon someone that did not live among them. "I will come back to that."

Clearing her throat again, she took a deep breath as she decided to explain the changes to the rules. (Some rules have been changed and added, please look them over on the pack page). She wasn't sure if she was satisfied with them, and was sure that she'd end up changing and adding some things later as issues and ideas came her way. For that, she also wanted to speak to a select few. "Lykos, Kharnage, and Dragon, I'd like to speak to the three of you afterwards." She wanted their input. It was their right as much as her own, and wanted to hear their thoughts and ideas to help build as perfect a home as they could. "Now, returning to what I mentioned previously. I've been considering a raid, not only to attempt in retrieving anything we might need, but also as a way to better gauge your abilities during a real fight. It will be a pack vote, and if there is interest, then another meeting will be called to further discuss it." She figured she was done at this point, and couldn't think of anything else. Most of what she wanted to tell them was said, and she was sure they got the message in it all. If not, she was open to clarifying anything they needed. "I am sure some of you have questions, concerns. If you do, speak now. Otherwise, seek me out afterwards for a private meeting."
