Her leg was fully healed now, the only reminder of the incident was the limp she had in her left hind leg and the serrated scars along the length of it. Never would she go that far out to sea again if she could help it. The woman limped along the river that snaked it's way through the valley, the air uncomfortably warm but not as hot as the western lands had been. This was mainly why she kept close to the waters edge, her paws splashing down the shallows of the rapids. It was odd though, to see anything else buy snow and tundra and ice. Her homeland was gone, crumbled and separated before her very feet. She wondered who else had survived, if there were any others...

Shaking her head to clear her mind of it, she continued on until the scents of many reached her. She stopped where she was, several yards from the borders. Of course, she didn't know what borders were...the two clans on the tundra didn't have them. So she figured that maybe, there was just a group or something that had passed by? She wasn't sure, but she did want to see where these Rapids went. Sticking close to the shallows, she would proceed. The foreign woman stepping over the boundaries, eyes fixed on the bank ahead and her paws still splashing through the shallows.

Even though he was pretty much in the process of retiring, he didn't slack off on his duties. Well... anymore. He still made sure to patrol the borders and make sure that their scent markers were strong, but he wasn't pushing training on anyone. Either way, there would be someone taking his place and he didn't want to start up these things only to have their new leader change the pace. It was kind of scary, the thought of not having Abaven. He was six years old now, he had run the pack for most of his life. It had been so long since he had been without the duties of an alpha, he was sure that he wouldn't know what to do with himself. There would be far too much time on his paws that he would have no idea what to do with. Letting out a sigh, he turned his attention to the rapids.

It didn't take long for him to cross from the plains to the rapids, and soon enough he was making his way around the perimeter. When he grew closer to the rushing water, an unfamiliar scent cross his path. His hackles rose right away as his head whipped up, golden eyes narrowing to scan the horizon. Soon enough he spotted her sofy blue and white head bopping along the shore of the rapids. A snarl passed through his lips as he stalked towards her, keeping his body low to the ground. She seemed to be moving through his lands without a care, his lips curling upwards into a snarl. He realized that he didn't want to startle her though, if he scared her she might slip and be washed away. Vivid memories of the flood came rushing back, and he had to shake his head to scatter them before Chrono's death played in front of him again. He had to come at this woman from in front, so that she could see him coming. He shook his head softly, all this trouble for someone who was intruding on pack lands.

Bass turned back the way that he had come, keeping low to the ground as he loped some distance ahead of her. He then stood up, turned back and started walking on the shore, his eyes glued on her features. Soon enough he was close, his tail rose up and curled around his rump, and he wagged it a few times to try and catch her eye. "You are trespassing on pack lands, miss. You need to turn back and head where you came from," he said with a low growl, his hackles still on end.

Unaware of the fact that she was actually walking through someone's territory, Una would pause here and there to peer at whatever looked interesting. Which in her opinion, was quite a few things. Since she had washed up here, she had seen many different things she didn't know about, let alone what they were called. The arctic wastelands and tundra only had so much, though mostly ice and sea. She had never seen fish just leaping out of the water to drop back down with a splash, or the ones who zipped by the surface in a flash of silver scales. It was intriguing to her, and the further along she went, the more appealing the thought of trying one of the fish here.

She stopped then, blue gaze cast towards the water as her tongue swept out to lick her lips. She had never fished in a river before, much less one as swift as this. Maybe there was calmer waters further up? Enticed by the idea, she turned to continue on her way, and that was when she spotted another wolf approaching her, hackles raised. She immediately stopped where she was, his words a little foreign. Pack? Was that the same as her tribe? She wasn't sure she completely understood, especially since where she was from, they didn't need borders. Two large tribes living on an expanse of ice and tundra that went for hundreds and hundreds of miles, well...there was tons of room. Even with the smaller tribes scattered about, it was scarce to even run into any of them.

She looked at him with a slight bit of wariness. Would this man be nice like the first male that had saved her? She took a step back just in case she had to run for it, but her eyes remained fixed on him as he looked intriguing to her. She was used to wolves that had coats like hers, Siberian like markings and the like. If not pure white. So seeing someone with the single line of markings under their eye was curious to her. "I am sorry, I did not mean to...trespass." The word alone was foreign to her. They didn't use it a whole lot where she was from. Again, for the reason that they had no borders. She then tilted her head a bit, curiosity finding it's way to her gaze. "What is a pack?" Was it the same as a tribe? Or something entirely different?

Bass' narrowed yellowed eyes stayed on her form, and he quickly saw the confusion that crossed her face. Did she not realize the scent markers when she passed them? As much as he wanted to trust that she had no idea what she was doing, he was still wary of the blue tinted woman. He did not back down from his offensive stance, his hackles and tail still raised when she said that she had no idea. It was hard to believe that she didn't smell the pack all around her, but Bass was not deaf to the accent on her words. So, she wasn't from around here? He let out a sigh, lowering his tail. Her next question only further proved her innocence, but he was still on guard. "A pack is a group of wolves led by one or two other wolves. We have our own set of rules and ranks, as well as territories that we guard. One of such, you are currently standing in," his voice was still closed off, but it was without the growl of his first statement. He could see that she was on edge and ready to flee, but he knew that looks could be very deceiving.

Not comfortable enough to take a seat, the pale man continued to stand as he looked down at the strange woman. His features relaxed a touch, but he didn't let himself fully grow comfortable around a trespasser. He had been fooled in the past, and he was getting too old to have the wool pulled over his eyes. "What is your name, Miss? And why have you come here?" Was she searching for something, or someone? Whatever it was, he doubted that she would find it here.
