Master of Puppets
Faite had yet to travel this far north. The farthest north she'd ever been was Fenrir's Maw and Mount Volkan and that'd been when she was a lost yearling just trying to find her way back to her family. She'd never expected to be where she was now though. At the most she'd have been content with being a legionary, maybe a lead position somewhere along the line, but never as high as Regulus' right wing. The promotion still was a bit hard for her to comprehend, but it was easy to say she was trying her best to fill the roll Creed had stepped down from. So far she felt like she'd taken some pretty big steps in helping improve anything. She'd been to the battlefield a couple times to scout out for new recruits and she'd definitely been patrolling more than she used to. She found herself leaving the borders less and less and sticking at home. She'd already come up with ideas for Laisren's fight training and she was already pleased with them. She had a lot to teach her younger brother and she could only hope he'd grow to be a fine warrior. He had it in his blood after all. While she was thinking her paws had brought her to a rather interesting looking place. It was not too far off from the looks of Mount Volkan with the lava-covered area. Of course it was far less green and mountainous and instead her dual-colored gaze would rest on black sand and already hardened lava. The scent of the ocean in the cove reached her nostrils and she reveled in the cool salty sea breeze that drifted her way. Her toes would sift in the sand and she'd marvel at how dark it was before she looked to the sea's horizon. Some might have called this place miserable and depressing but she thought it was beautiful from where she stood. Walk, "Talk" Think |

Her russet paws stepped into a new land, this time a place that seemed like a beach. Yet, the sands were an onyx color and she took quite a liking to it. Large pillars of hardened and old lava as well as palm trees dotted the place. What a strange place, she liked it though. Maybe for now she would have to call the lands of the North her home. She wondered, were there any packs here who also called this place home? She needed to know, no, she did not want, she needed. Gaze hardened and narrowed as a figure was able to be seen in the distance. Hmm, to approach or to leave alone. Let's cause a little discord in this cold land. And so she did. Powerful russet limbs carried her forth towards the being who seemed to be out here all alone. By the looks, it was a female and she was quite smaller then Verana. "Qué linda niña. (What a pretty little girl.)" The Spanish left her maw, "Lástima que por ella misma. (Shame she's by herself.)" She spoke in Spanish to barely hide her intention, skull raised to get a closer look at the woman. "What's your name?" she merely asked.
Claws clicking against the stone and the soft thudding of paw pads from something large caught the woman's attention. An ear would flick in the direction of the thing but she ignored it for the time being. Eyes would close in relaxation and she didn't open them until she realized that whatever it was it was coming closer. She'd eventually turn her head and she easily spotted the dark woman with the odd bit of russet along her form. Faite would eye her for a moment, but it seemed the woman would greet her first. A strange language slipped from the maw of the other wolf and ears would flick forward with interest as Faite stared at her from where she sat. Eyes would rove over the muscular form of her present company and she noted the hard muscles and how large she was built. She came across as a warrior to the newly appointed alpha. Her brain still struggled to figure out what the other had said, but in the end she couldn't. It wasn't gaelic. Thankfully english was something she could understand so to that she would respond. "Faite Adravendi. What's your name?" She asked politely. Walk, "Talk" Think |

"Pobre niña, tienes mucho que aprender. (Poor girl, you have a lot to learn.)" she continued to speak in Spanish, to confuse her further and maybe even to intrigue her. "Tell me Faite, have you ever been in a real fight before?" she asked curiously, her tone was almost innocent as the words left her maw. Head tilted slightly to the right and a look of concern was in her eye. Yet, it was all just a little gimmick, a trick. She hoped the female wasn't as foolish as Verana was making her seem though, or else she truly would have to teach her a lesson.
Faite watched the female as she returned her own name. Verana smirked and Faite felt no pleasure in this meeting so far. The more Verana spoke the more the russet colored female felt on edge and it wasn't often she was given this feeling. She'd learned to trust her instincts when she was on her own and so far she was trusting them here. While Verana hadn't done anything outwardly to show that Faite should dislike her, it didn't mean that Faite trusted her. A wary and watchful eye was kept on the other wolf at all times and she put her guard up. Muscles were tense in case anything happened. "What are you doing all by yourself? Seems a little dangerous for a girl as small as you to be out and about without a protector." She felt a severe amount of irritation well within her when Verana said this. Her nose wrinkled slightly. When wolves looked at Faite they might see a small and weak girl who was tiny and unable to defend herself. She viewed herself as tiny and mighty. Just because she was small in stature meant she couldn't pack a punch when she needed to. So with a fire in her eyes and a fair amount of sass she answered the woman. "Just because I'm small does not mean I'm weak." She retorted. "It's not nice to underestimate wolves. You'd be surprised how much ass kicking they can do." Probably not the wisest thing to say, but she didn't appreciate being undermined. She spoke in whatever language it was she spoke and Faite's irritation grew. For all she knew she could be talking shit and Faite wouldn't know. Of course she could always revert to her family's tongue and return the favor but she decided against it. Instead she'd focus on the question that had been launched at her. Why did she want to know? Regardless she'd answer it all the same. "I've sparred before and I know my way around a fight." She said confidently, rising to her paws as she no longer felt comfortable in Verana's presence. She was on edge, but was doing her best to hide it. Instead she lifted her paws slightly off the ground acting like she was trying to get some feeling back into them. She didn't buy the concern in her gaze or the way she cocked her head as if she actually cared. Walk, "Talk" Think |

As her enormous body came surging forward, she pushed some of her body weight up and forelegs would open wide. Aiming to close the space and slam herself into Faite, she was also aiming to somehow wrap around her forelimbs around Faite's neck. If she could get her leg's below the girl's jawline then it would be perfect, her left foreleg moved to hopefully wrap around the right side of Faite's neck, and her right foreleg moved to hopefully wrap around the left side of her neck. Jaws splayed open and fangs were aiming to rip into some flesh, her skull tilting to give herself a better angle to Faite's neck. Verana's own neck craned downward's towards the shorter female's neck, so she would get a better grip if successful. Her main goal was to scar the right side of Faite's neck, so her jaws aimed to snap toward that area of the flesh. Attempting to already get some progression on that scar in the beginning, but if Faite should move then her teeth would come clamping on thin air. She honestly had no idea what she expected from the smaller girl, she was unsure but she was sure that this would be fun for her either way.

Round 1/3
Faite Adravendi |
ooc: Four feet between them at the start before the fight was agreed upon by Leah and myself. A snarl slowly began forming upon her maw and Faite was glad she'd decided to stand up. The part about being nice caused her fur to stand on end and a growl rumbled slowly in her chest as the woman moved to stand four feet in front of her. Her tail automatically flagged out parallel to the ground and her legs slowly slid evenly part. Toes splayed and claws dug into the ground to find purchase where she could on the lava rock as Verana mentioned that her coat needed a scar. A louder growl erupted from her muzzle this time. "I'd like to see you try!" Faite's head lowered now and she tucked her chin in to protect her most vital parts. Knees bent slightly and muscles tensed as she was prepared to move whatever way she needed to in preparation for Verana's attacks. For once she was glad she was smaller. It meant Verana had more to hit than her and Faite was confident in her agility. It also meant she had to worry less about her stomach and more about being bowled over. She'd have to use any advantage she could get. Hackles raised and shoulders rolled forward so that the loose skin bunched up around her neck. Ears lay flat on her head now and her snarl wrinkled her muzzle up so that the skin bunched around her eyes for the extra protection as she narrowed her eyes to slits. Verana charged at her and Faite knew that to be rushed on by a larger opponent and try and take that on would be suicide. So using her agility to her advantage, Faite sidestepped to the right to avoid the brunt of the attack. Instead Verana rammed into Faite's left shoulder and she could have sworn she saw stars spring to her eyes with the pain that blossomed. She knew she'd have moderate to severe bruising there when it was all said and done, but it was better than being barreled over. She'd felt jarred with the slam that Verana had dealt, but her back legs took the most of the force behind Verana's shove. The muscles tightened as she strained against the weight before she attempted to step to the left once more to move away from Verana. She soon realized that this would be nothing like fighting her mother. Due to her half dodge earlier she'd managed to avoid Verana's front legs being wrapped around her. This gave her some open space to do her own attacks, though not much. With Verana closer to her right side now it meant she had leeway to Verana's left side and she couldn't help but notice the scar now. She lunged forward and jaws attempted to tear into Verana's scarred side right between the gap of the two scars with bone crushing force. She anted to rip and tear into her with a fury she'd never felt before. At the same time she felt teeth clamp into her neck right where the neck and the shoulder blade met. It probably wasn't Verana's intended target due to their changed positioning, but she hit it nonetheless. Pain now laced through her neck now as teeth tore into her causing a moderate amount of damage. Instinct told her to pull away, but instead she attempted to shove herself to the right to try and shove a shoulder into Verana's face to either jar and/or wound her. At the same time she rose her front right paw, her weight distributing evenly to the other three legs, and then tried slamming it down on Verana's right back paw to try and break her toes. Faite was able to get a grip on Verana's right side. The open area of fur between her two massive scars, right around where her rib cage ended. A snarl ripped from her maw in annoyance, the fur of Faite's neck muffling the vicious noise. The wound that Faite's bite now caused would have to be a moderate one, but it was probably easy for the younger female to worsen it if Verana couldn't get away. Faite's right forepaw then landed down on Verana's right backpaw. An annoyance at most, for the girl was not as powerful as she thought herself and it would probably leave a minor ache to Verana's right back toes, which were still spread so she had a better grip on the land below them. Verana tried to roughly kick her right back paw out from under Faite's paw, just so she wouldn't have to deal with the weight anymore. Faite had also thrown her shoulder into Verana's face, but to counter the attack Verana attempted to move with the attack and roll her skull backwards so it wasn't such a harsh move to her. Though she had a good grip on Faite's neck, she wasn't going to stay in the same position. Or at least, she didn't plan on it. The onyx woman hoped to use her larger weight as an advantage, and she attempted to sidestep to the left so she would be further from Faite's jaws. Verana did not wish to be head on with Faite anymore, instead she was going to attempt to be perpendicular with Faite, while she was still trying to keep that grasp she had on the lower side of her neck. If she was perpendicular to Faite, then she hoped there was more of a chance of ripping away from Faite's grip.
Verana then decided she would try to attack again. She spread her legs evenly, bending them so she was not a stiff being, claws sinking into the land below the two brawling females, her tail and her head were still aligned with her spine. She tried to lift her right forelimb, while attempting to do this, she would distribute her weight evenly so she could stand balanced on three legs as she was trying to do. Her plan was to attempt to swing her right forelimb around Faite's neck or maybe even her chest, if her desired angle (perpendicular) was achieved, so there wouldn't be really any place for the smaller girl to go, perhaps backwards though. She attempted to do this so she would also try to apply weight and pressure on Faite, so she would be forced to the ground and under Verana's right foreleg if the task was able to be done properly. Verana was still hoping to get the female below herself somehow, so she would have more control in the long run and to do as she pleased with her new victim.
Verana was not finished though. The obsidian woman had first gotten a good grip on the lower right side of Faite's neck. She was not planning to just let go though, instead she was going to try to worsen the bite. The demoness attempted to apply more pressure to the bite, hoping that her sharp teeth would be able to sink deeper into the flesh. Her gaze was narrowed, ears still pinned flat to her skull, and her lips were still curled should Faite ever try to somehow wound her face. Hackles were still raised in an aggressive way, and now she would continue her duty. Verana's powerful neck muscles tried to move her massive skull, trying to viciously shake her head around so she could attempt to tear into more flesh and worsen the wound she had caused before. At first it was a strong grip, and only Faite would be able to decide if she would tear away from Verana's jaws or not.
Verana is trying to scar the right side of Faite's neck.
Round 2/3
Faite Adravendi |
Her assault on Verana's side would hit home and Faite felt a small amount of victory. The fight was far from over, but considering this was her first real fight she felt like she was doing well. She felt the air from Verana's mouth tickle her neck from where the woman had her teeth sunk in and her mind mulled over how she was going to pull away with the least amount of damage. She knew if she remained in close quarters with the larger woman she was going to get squashed like a bug. Faite was strong due to training, but it still couldn't compare to the weight and sheer size of Verana. She'd then feel the bony toes of Verana and Faite attempted to smash them as much as possible. It didn't seem to do as much damage as she intended though. She allowed Verana to move her foot out of the way by picking up her own foot again. Her weight would shift to evenly distribute them to her other three legs before she'd put her foot back down on the ground again. Her weight would shift once more to properly balance on all for legs and toes would spay and claws dug into the earth once again as she regained her previous stature. Her shoulder ram had been a bust - Verana has easily moved her head with the thrust and thus the attack was pointless. Interestingly enough Verana would take the moment to side step to the left with her hind end. Her teeth would dislodge themselves from Verana's side and once more her jaws were left empty. It was then Faite took her opportunity to check her defenses. Her legs bent slightly to allow easy movement, her shoulders were rolled (to her best ability with Verana on her neck) and the skin bunched up around her neck. The hair along her spine had risen and ears pinned against her head while her face returned to its bunched up state with narrowed eyes and the skin folding around them. Her tail remained even with her spine, parallel to the ground, and her toes and claws remained in their position from before with toes splayed and claws in the dirt. Verana had moved perpendicular to herself (Faite) now and was lifting her right forelimb. She'd stare at the opening this gave and her and Faite decided to take it. legs would bend and Faite went to try and crouch. In this same movement she'd try and propel herself between Verana's front legs. She didn't fully intend to try and get completely underneath her and would attempt to stop lest she get squashed by the larger woman. She didn't want to be sat on. She knew that if she could get up under Verana that mean Verana no longer had access to her face or neck and that would give her the ability to go for the soft undersides. At the same time she'd try and shove her shoulders upwards, raising slightly from her crouched position, to attempt to knock the wind out of her opponent and severely bruise her chest if she could. Her jaws were still empty so while she tried to shove herself under Verana her head would angle downwards to the right as she tried to grasp Verana's left leg around the back middle section right above where her ankle was. She knew the tendon there was soft and the bone was fragile. She put all her force into the bite and fully intended on trying to break that bone if she could. Even if she couldn't break it she was hopeful that it would cause the woman a severe amount of pain and discomfort and maybe even slow her down. Since Faite was trying to go somewhat under the woman, Verana's right front leg wouldn't grasp around their intended target, her neck, and instead would go elsewhere. (I'm honestly not sure where Verana's paw would go so I'll allow you to decide whether she uses Faite for balance or if it goes back on the ground.) Round 2/3 ooc: Not sure how Verana's last attack with the head shaking would work, so I didn't work it into the post since it wouldn't make sense if Faite's trying to shove herself under Verana/rip herself free from Verana's jaws. |

Because Faite was now under Verana, there was some disadvantage for the younger girl now. Her lower back seemed to be fully exposed for the taking, and so that was what the onyx dame planned to do. First she would attempt to push her body forwards, attempting to drive it over her body fully so the girl would be directly under her. She spread her legs farther apart in defense, so it would be harder for Faite to reach. She then distributed most of her wait down towards the ground, legs bending and claws digging into the earth, toes splayed so it would be difficult for her to get knocked down somehow. Her tail still held with her spine, hackles raised as from the beginning of the battle, ears were still against her skull. Her lips were curled to show her bloodstained teeth and her eyes narrowed in fury.
Now it was time. Verana's jaws splayed open, her powerful neck muscles working and attempting to drive her skull downwards. While she tried to force a majority of her body weight on the girl by attempting to lower her massive body atop Faite, her jaws also tried to coming snapping at her spine. She hoped to get her teeth deep enough where she could damage Faite's spinal chord and try to paralyze her, or at least attempt to damage her nerves somehow. Faite's lower back and rump seemed to be particularly close to Verana's face, so that is where her fangs aimed to go. Paralyzing the girl would be something, and if not then she would try to leave severe or moderate wounds to the girl's lower back. For once last and final move, she tried to drive her right foreleg up again. Hoping to plant three firm paws into the ground while she tried to force her right forepaw onto Faite's left hip. Hoping to drive it downwards and apply weight or pressure so she could be forced to the ground and under Verana. If she couldn't get the girl down with the attempted paw swipe, maybe she could give her a bruise or maybe even claw her left hip and or thigh.
Verana is trying to scar the right side of Faite's neck.
Round 3/3
Faite Adravendi |
This shoulder thrust seemed to work a lot better and she felt a minimal amount of pain as her shoulder blades rammed into Verana's chest. It wouldn't be much pain, enough to cause some discomfort, but she knew that was the least of her worries. Due to the strange angle of her head she wasn't able to get full access on Verana's leg, a mistake on her part, but nonetheless her attack hit and she felt blood well inside her mouth. She was just about to try biting deeper when she felt Verana moving above her. It was here that Faite felt the full error of her previous attacks. Moving under Verana had been a grave mistake and she silently cursed herself for being so stupid. Their positioning had been off from the start and she was finding it difficult to dodge the woman when all she really wanted to do was cause some damage. She was not built for brute force and crushing attacks, and so far all she'd done was try and throw what little weight she had. Sparring with her mother and Regulus so far had done nothing but teach her how they used their weight and not how she should use her own. She couldn't just let Verana shove herself over top of her so, in a desperate attempt, Faite tried to move backwards. Ears still pinned against her skull and her tail now tucked downwards so it wouldn't be a target just in case it didn't work. Toes splayed and dug into the earth and her face was still scrunched up with slit eyes to protect them. Fur stood on end and her legs, even bent down to avoid being crushed, still spread slightly farther than shoulder width to keep her balance and make up for her awkward positioning. Hackles raised and her neck fat bunched up to protect her throat. Her head still remained downwards and chin tucked inwards to keep her throat safe. As she tried to move backwards to avoid Verana she'd try to raise upwards with all the force she could muster from her legs once her head was free from Verana's chest. Her legs back legs were now evenly apart and her tail flagged outwards to be parallel to the ground once more as she tried to headbutt her. Since Verana had initially been trying to go for her spine, she knew her head would probably get bit but she didn't care. Her ears were still flat against her face and she wasn't concerned about the top of her head. As Verana's teeth came down against her skull she tried to ram upwards to try and jar the black woman and possibly break a few teeth if she was lucky. Teeth would meet her skull (from Verana's bite originally intended for her spine) and luckily for her there wasn't a whole lot of muscle up there that Verana could damage. She felt blood oozing over her head and a moderate amount of pain right at the top center. At the same time Verana's right front paw would find placement around the left side of Faite's neck right where the shoulders and neck met and she felt force trying to shove her down, but Faite was determined as ever. She wouldn't back down, she wouldn't bend, and she wouldn't break. Round 3/3 |
Faite! Due to Leah leaving the site, she has forfitted this fight. Verana must submit by passing out, fleeing, or submitting. Faite is succesful in her maim. Shrap, please stand by for your posts to be judged for the sake of learning.
