We Are The First Line [Spar]

It was time that the two Alphas of Celestial got down to bettering their skills and stamina when it came to fighting. In the event of a challenger eyeing Celestial as a possible target, he wanted both of them ready to withstand a long fight for their pack. It was more than pride on the line; it was their home, and the stability of their family and their friends. Wolves who had chosen to make this place their home and depended on their leaders to beat off any threat.
So he’d chosen the place that most resembled the footing on the Battlefield for today’s first power spar. It was on the Plains, but not at the usual place for spars. He would have liked it to have been pouring rain, or snowing heavily, but the Summer was proving, already, to be brutal. The heat skyrocketed during the days, and even the nights weren’t all that cool. It was a dry, hot early Summer, and it only felt as though it would get hotter.
Still, in the event that a challenge came during a brutal Summer day, he thought it would help them to work on their fighting stamina. He raised his head, howling for Faite, tail flagging behind him as his muzzle dropped again and he waited for his sibling to arrive.

It was so unnaturally hot outside. Even the nights werent offering much relief anymore and the girl pitied heavier furred wolves. Her own dark pelt seemed to be soaking up the suns rays like a sponge and she was glad for her thinner coat. The sun was energy draining and she was more than glad they had a lake nearby. With heat like this they all needed to stay hydrated. She was debating on whether or not to go visit her mother to see how she was doing when Regulus' summoning howl caught her attention. Dark ears flicked towards the noise and she paused for just a brief moment. Whatever it was it sounded important. So with the typical smile on her face she set off to find him. It didn't take her long and her larger brother's huge crimson form was easy to spot from a distance. She padded easily up to him, tail waving languidly behind her, and she nuzzle his face. "Hey Regulus, what's up?"She'd question him, pulling away from him as she sat back on her haunches. Walk, "Talk" Think |

Regulus wasn’t left waiting for long until his sister and co-alpha responded, her earth and silver form approaching quickly. He grinned as she approached, a monumental paw rising to scruff playfully over her head, his own heavily furred tail waving in response as he answered her greeting, and query with a chuckle. “I felt it was time to work on sparring. I owe you one, in any case. We need to work on our stamina and skills. If anyone challenges for Celestial, you and I are the ones who must answer, and the challenger will not have an easy fight. We need to be able to outlast and out fight any who wishes to take our home and scatter our family and friends.” As he spoke, his tone became more serious, eyes intent upon his littermate.
Once he felt she had an understanding, he grinned. “Let’s saaay, we go until one of us drops, eh?” He suggested as he sought to move away to a distance of ten feet, seeking to face her head on as he rolled his shoulders and gave his frame a shake to settle things into place, pendant and chain jingling lightly as he grinned challengingly at his smaller sibling. “Let’s see what we can do.”
He’d been itching to spar for a while now, and here, he finally would get some action. Or… at least he hoped he would, and that she was feeling up to the test.
