Since his daughters had been weaned, he hadn't seen hide nor hair of Limno. It kept him busy watching over his girls, yet under the surface Xephyris was a brewing storm of emotions. There were so many uncertainties in his life, yet so many responsibilities he needed to tend to with his new pack. Time was flying by, and the realization that the season was passing and there was so much left to do could have made him stagger, but there was no time for that. He had to keep going. Today, he had decided that he must spend time with his daughters and really just be present with them, beyond the regular care he was expected to provide for them. As a pup, he'd been passed around a lot, having never known his real mother, and his father being present only part of the time. He wanted to be there for his daughters, even if he was exhausted. Even if their mother had disappeared without a trace. Xephyris had already been away from their den this morning, but he returned now, poking his head into the entrance and peering into the darkness. "Memphis, Saffron!" he called, his low tone echoing into the small cavern, "Come out, I want to take you both on an adventure today." He then backed up slightly, seating himself as his silver eyes watched for movement, hoping they would both come bounding out eagerly. It wasn't often that he really got to spend time with them other than providing for their needs, and they were still so young, so he looked forward to this outing more than anything. Sitting in the dark could be so boring sometimes. Memphis knew she could be in a bad mood a lot, who knows maybe it was the absence of her mother. She would always be around for daddy though. As she gently pawed her sister she smiled a bit before bounding outside of the den. "Daddy daddy. Amaii hewlped me yesterdway! I got a thworn stuck." Memphis exclaimed out loud as she bounced around her dad. Little tail wiggling behind her. The hauntingly familiar lady would then attempt to tackle her dad's side. Of course to no avail being her so small. It felt like she just slammed into a fluffy cushion. "Talk"

The pup stirred lightly when the voice of her father carried into the den, but it was not until her sister pawed at her that she truly woke. Her silver, emerald-flecked eyes blinked open slowly, and she smirked when she saw Memphis. She rolled over and got to her paws, clumsy as she still was, and followed her sister out of the den. Ah, so father was here! Had he brought them something to eat? She had missed his words through her dozing, and as she approached the male, she saw that he had nothing for them at the moment. Well wait, why had he come? Having little time to ponder on it, she tilted her head as her sister babbled about how Armai had helped her with a thorn in her paw the other day. Saffron hadn't met anyone else, yet. She'd kept to herself, not straying far from the den yet, and when she did, she avoided everyone else for the time being.

She smirked yet again when she saw Memphis go crashing into their dad's side, merely causing hersefly to go toppling. After all, it wasn't like they were big enough to stand any chance against the man. Bounding over to her sister, she poked the girl's shoulder with her nose. "Memphis, what you doin'?" she squeaked, her short puppy tail wagging, "You gots to wait til you'we bigger if you wants to beat dad." Laughing slightly, she pawed at her sister, before turning and seating her rump down as she looked up at their father. "Is it food time?" she asked the man, blinking curiously, her tummy beginning to rumble.

A hearty laugh escaped the man as Memphis came bounding out after he called to the girls, Saffron moseying out more slowly. His ears tilted toward Memphis as she told a story about how she got a thorn in her paw, and Armai helped her with it. He smiled, glad to hear that his daughter had met the healer when she was in need, and that Armai had followed through kindly. "That's great, little one," he murmured with a chuckle, leaning down to nuzzle the pup before she took a flying leap at him. Her little body bashed into his side, and he laughed with a grunt as he pretended to get knocked back. He smirked as her sister came bounding over, asking her what she was doing. He had to admit, it was rather brave of the girl. Before he could address the girl's blossoming fighting spirit, Saffron was asking if it was time to eat. Another laugh escaped him. The two girls never seemed to stop chattering or asking questions, and it was great. "Yes, we're going to eat soon," he assured her, flicking his tail. He moved away from the pups slightly, looking across the beach. He knew they were a long ways from learning to hunt, but he wanted to show them, to get them started on the concept anyways. There was no harm in starting early, even though they wouldn't be fast enough or accurate enough to catch anything - they could still watch and learn. "I want to show you what it's like to hunt," he told them, silver eyes glancing to the girls, "We'll go far to find something just right, so let's get moving." He started to pad away over the sand, expecting them to follow him - he knew they'd probably get distracted along the way, but that was all a part of the adventure. They were still so young, and their attention span would be expectedly short. As long as they all had a good time, and he felt like they were learning new things each step along the way, he would be satisfied with their outing. "Talk" "You" Think

"I'm trying to bweat up dad." Memphis had responded to her sister as she stopped and looked up at her father. So it was food time, she did feel the rumbling of her tummy at that point. A large growl hitting the air as she hopped out almost out of embarrassment until their dad said he was going to show them how to hunt. She knew she was too small to, but to see her dad take down the food they ate well that would make her day. Memphis would follow behind her dad with clumsy paws. Falling silent just in case it scared the food away. Of course she stumbled with her paws being too big for her body. Blue eyes sparkling with delight and wonder. She wanted so badly to be strong, but she knew patience was a very important skill to have. "Talk"
