Onward she marched. In quiet hush of dawn as the sun lit the horizon in all its glorious hues. Turning the blue sky orange-pink with a touch of some purple shade. Colors she could not touch nor ever reach. Always in the distance and thus never right in front of her pathway.

As she continued trudging on she came to a halt as something poked up from the ground. Perhaps a rock with an odd shape half buried by the timeless erosion of the planet's crust.

With a twitch of her ears she crept toward the mystery that had been unearthed. It surely was no dead creature she'd ever seen. Well not one recently dead.

Lowering her snout closer as she soon stood over it she inhaled. It smelled of dirt and bone. Moving her forepaws she began to dig. Shifting the first layer of the planet in that one small spot. One each movement of one forelimb the dirt went shooting backward behind her.

It had taken her a lot of time and walking to finally arrive in this land. Easily the longest trek she had taken since she arrived in these lands so many seasons ago, she'd found it calming to be temporarily on the move again. It was becoming a habit, though not so much of a self-destructive one as her previous aimless wanderings. No, now she was simply taking time to herself, letting her mind relax and her legs get some exercise.

The morning sky was breathtaking, a sight she paused to admire for a while. Soon the scent of another wolf would lazily drift it's way to her nostrils and distract the woman from her sight-seeing. While normally Cae moved at least at a slow trot, today she was taking her time, meandering in no particular hurry to get anywhere. Coming upon a brown-pelted stranger Cae watched the other woman dig for a bit, eventually giving into her curiosity and approaching her.

She made sure to approach from in front of the other wolf, hoping to avoid appearing threatening while also avoiding the dirt that was shooting off everywhere from the digging. Cae would smile pleasantly, calling a greeting to the wolf, "Hello there!"

Charcoal crowned head canting to the right a few degrees she added curiously, "If you don't mind my asking, what is it you're digging for?"

Every muscle tensed as yet another unknown voice to her reached her ears. At least this time it sounded that of a female rather than a male, but she could not be so certain. Even a male's voice could sound like that of a female without meaning to.

Pausing in her digging she lifted her head and glanced at the she-wolf. Older than herself she figured, but knew it was quite possible to have gotten that all wrong.

"Hello. I found something poking out of the ground. Perhaps an ancient bone of some kind. Always good for a chew toy, or if one knows another use that too." Not that she knew of another use other than as a chew toy or a game of hide and seek the bone.

This lady may not have been of Incubus blood, because she would know as they tended to stick together, or so she believed. After all she wasn't around her family anymore thanks to a bit of a mishap. Even though she had intended to set out on her own and create something wondrous where the she-wolves ruled and males were second rate citizens if they were allowed within at all.

"Have you ever seen a femur bone thrice as long as your own without its flesh still intact?" Now that had been fun to dig for with her parents when she'd been but a pup not so many moons ago. Of course it had been a shock to every Incubus clan member, but they'd all had fun with it.

Charcoal painted brows raised slightly when the other woman went ridged for a second before the girl lifted her head to meet Cae's gaze for a bit. This younger female appeared to be a bit taller than herself, likely also possessing a bit more mass than Cae though it seemed to be mostly comprised of lean muscle.

Contemplating the response for a second, the ivory woman would rely, "I see. I suppose a chew-toy would be my first thought. That or n effective way of whacking someone..." Her tone held amusement, though she'd subconsciously flinch a bit at the thought of being smacked with a large bone. It sounded painful to even picture.

The question caught her by surprise, causing her to take a moment to gather her thoughts and reply. What the girl described sounded quite impressive to Caelum. Back home it was exceptionally rare to hear about someone finding such large old bones, much less to view one yourself. She knew it happened, but to picture such a thing... Taking a seat she'd answer, "I can't say that I have ever seen such a thing. You have?"

With a blink of green eyes one side of her upper lip curled back to reveal a canine amid a few other teeth shown. "It might be fun to use a bone to whack someone with. If they seemed to be in need of a good whacking that is." The first that came to mind was that of one of her male cousins who could surely have done with it. Maybe then she wouldn't have been lost to sea and away from her natal lands and natal pack. Still she'd survived that ordeal and wasn't about to let it keep her down.

Her gaze flickered back to where her paws met the ground and gave another couple of pawfulls of dirt to sling backward from them.

She paused only so that she could pay full attention to the question posed of her in regards to the large bone. "Only once. All of the Incubus clan dug from noon high till the sun began to set. It was longer than a wolf and impossible to get a hold of with ones jaws because its too big. But one can still gnaw on it. A bone for sharing." As long as a wolf weren't tremendously greedy when there was plenty to go round.
